Exactly who cares about woj honestly he was only given basic information, that I would get ahead of time from underground sports podcast or UA-camrs channels. Make me question so was he really breaking news first… ummm nope
There's a scandal lurking. ESPN gave him the opportunity to leave with his dignity intact. Anytime you hear someone say they're leaving a high end position to spend more time with their family you already know what it is.
No skill in what WOJ did. Bribery, back door deals to get the scoop first? Spreading mis info? Holding a recorder? I really dont know what they do thats difficult or special.

Appreciate the love! The growth means a lot, and it's all about connecting with the audience. Let’s keep this momentum going! Thank you for riding with me!
He retired because he didn’t have power anymore. He was able to play puppet master at ESPN. When he found out that he was going to have to share the strings, he didn’t want to play anymore.
That’s a strong perspective! Losing that control can be tough for anyone in the game. It makes sense that he’d step back if he felt his influence was slipping!
You can see over the past few off seasons that Woj was losing his grip on getting the news out first. Shams was breaking the news quicker, at the time until present, and you can just sense that the league wasn’t feeling Woj. Pretty sure that it ate at Woj having to go through it. And it could be attributed, imo, to the way that ESPN is being operated. It didn’t make sense that Woj wasn’t able to break the stories considering his dominance with yahoo. Excellent vid MW.
That’s a sharp observation! The competition definitely heated up, and it’s tough to watch your influence wane. ESPN’s changes likely played a role too. Appreciate you checking out the video!

It’s a fascinating role in sports media. Information is being intentionally leaked for gamesmanship and he’s essentially being used as a pawn by players, GM’s and owners alike. On top of that, Woj is racing against his contemporaries to be the first to break the news and he did it so well he became rich and famous almost overnight but at the players expense. So there’s always a price to pay in war…. In his rapid rise to the top, he clearly burned so many bridges along the way and eventually realized he was quickly losing market share to Shams so he dropped out of the race seemingly on a high note and on his own terms before being humiliated.
