I live in turkey and quit my well paid government IT job without a plan and with a little savings nearly 4 months ago. My family, collegues, relatives all thought that i'm stupid. I didn't die when i submitted the resignation letter and still haven't died yet :) I have always desired to study philosophy but never attempted to do it because of the financial lies. Now i am preparing for university entrance exams again at 27 and you can guess what i will study :) Probably i will never land again a job that pays well like the one which i quit from. I am trying to reduce my expenses. I want to do bachelors, masters and phd in philosophy while working on part-times i guess. You are a great inspiration and motivation for everyone that want to change their job career! I have never seen such an honest, reliable, and outstanding youtuber that shares so much HONEST information and feedback! Life it's not so glamorous, adventorous, and bright on the other side of the fence and many people devoured by the high incomes in IT should know about "dark sides" of this job as well. I love your videos and keep on making them whetever comes on your mind!
Rachel great video and advice. I also think that best way to reduce the risk is to not to put all your eggs in one basket. Love the idea of building small mini or micro empires. Also don't forget it's not a race it's a marathon you plan for the long run and most importantly don't forget to enjoy life, and build a good network of people you can connect and stay in touch with. Always need the support for a rainy day and nothing like catching up with friends, mentors and your network for that support. Happy new year and best wishes for 2023.

Heya. I felt the same when I was working in a profession that wasn't a right fit for me, so I decided to work as a designer. I also felt what you felt when I am in a full-time job, so I planned carefully and quit to become an independent designer. You mentioned "but if I continue like this I won't know what awaits me." --> The same sentence popped up in my mind countless times too. Sometimes you gotta go with your gut. Plan ahead, take calculated risks. Change is not easy. After you take the leap, if you realize the new path isn't for you, you could always pivot. No matter what path you decide to embark on, enjoy the journey, best of luck to you!
