Go DSLR with a $20 Vivitar Capture Card

Hey. My Webcam is not the best, Go from a Logitech Webcam to a DSLR for $20. Use a Vivitar capture card to turn an HDMI input into a webcam. Obviously you need a DSLR or other camera with HDMI out for this to work.

Can you get rid of the auto focus grid?

I'm not sure which dslr brand you have/setting names, but on my Fujifilm, after setting it to movie(recording) mode, there's a setting I think called display info on HDMI. If I turn that off I get just the video with no extra information.
