That moment when you, as head of the FBI, hear that your current boss just publicly endorsed the subject of one of your highest profile criminal investigations as the person he wants to take his place as your new boss in a couple of months.
Removing the specifics of who and what he's talking about from the argument entirely, I don't understand this from a legal perspective. Proof of intent is what you need to resort to when you need to decide the difference between murder and manslaughter, accidental destruction of property or vandalism or to gain a case against someone who was caught before they were able to commit their supposedly intended crime. Basically, you usually resort to it when deciding what specific charge to press or whether someone was even going to commit a crime. I don't understand why an investigation on a chargeable offense that there's no doubt that the individual did can end in jail time or absolutely 0 consequences based solely on intent.
If you read the law intent is not necessary it reads negligence as a violation and negligence it was. Intent being hard to determine the negligence is obvious and would stand..
It is important to remember (and I am surprised that Trey Gowdy did not bring this up) that under Section 793 of Title 18, intent is not required! And I quote... (f) Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer- Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.
Jane told Seven Days that they had recently sold a house in Maine that had belonged to her family since the 1900s, and used the proceeds to purchase the new property, which is located in North Hero (population 803, as of the 2010 census).
If it is the case that all of the things he is saying are true, and there was no special treatment for Hillary he would be able to find a precendent where someone had behaved in such a strange way.
Hillary does not deserve the title of first woman president. She doesn't deserve the title Secretary of State, she didn't even deserve the title First Lady. She's a criminal
Rep. Gowdy. Thumbs up!!
Gowdy's face when he pushes the mic away at the end shows just how displeased he is with this whole case. Time for a new justice department
My only question Director Comey is what was the price of your Integrity?
Comey was easy. He arrived with his integrity compromised.
Thank You Mr. Gowdy

When historians do look back at this, they will be hanging their heads in shame.

It was NOT done in the right way. And if these are pros I would sure hate to see what the FBI considers to be amateurs.

you are exactly correct. maybe Mr Comey can buy a house next door to Bernie Sanders. they can be neighbours since they share the same bank.
