The kids ARE RIGHT. Gen4 Firebirds and Camaros are the REAL DEAL. The secret sauce??? The body lines combined with the size: It's sleek, it's big, it has a t-top, it looks the part 1000%.
Thanks for the pen light. My dads birthday is today and mine was yesterday. He is a truck mechanic and he is all about snap-on but I'm going to give him one of these lights so he doesn't have to carry 2 different kinds of lights in his pocket. And I am going to get one for myself as well. Thanks @LegitStreetCars !!!
My favorite thing about watching your videos is that it doesn't seem to matter the cost of the part, or the cost of the car, you do the job and you show us how it's done without prejudice.
I agree. The way Alex narrates his videos shows he loves what he does, which gives his viewers the confidence to take on a repair job that they might've thought they couldn't do. Thanks Alex, you ROCK!
I love that you conceal your kids identities. Too many trolls out there these days. Thank you for the awesome content. I look forward to Saturday morning uploads. UA-cam gold
57:57 Alex be careful, the battery in that iPod looks to be expanding, it might blow up if it doesn’t get replaced soon with a new quality battery, and who knows how bad an exploding battery might be inside of a car… please replace it!
You have not failed miserably!! I’ve been with your channel for so long, since you were working out of the garage. Your channel has grown so much and well deserved! 🙏🏼 Cheers to you and your family for 2025! Success is in the air!
Until I had a cancer battle I ran my own business for 23 years. Successfully. When a company screws you like breaking your camera you should tell us all who they are. I bent over backwards for customers to make them happy. Great customer service from small businesses should equally be praised. Happy New year
Bad reviews and press are a dime a dozen, not worth wasting time,,,,good service deserves the time and praise. Most contractors who are great don’t want advertising because they’re already too busy to maintain the level of service they want their customers to enjoy!!!
You need 10 satisfied customers to undo the damage caused by one unhappy one. Everyone loves to share bad news and loves to hear bad news, but only 1 in 10 will share a good experience.
As an ex car mechanic, I absolutely love this channel. Big fan of late 80s early 90 GM Vehicles (87 trofeo and 89 grand prix) I totally get it about the cool interior!! Thanks for the great content Alex!
We must be about the same age as Alex. Memories from early childhood too my late teens as well. Would you guys know what happened to the C4 the previous owner called "Ruby? ❤
This sounds crazy Alex, I just love the Cutlass. Although it's not my favorite of the fleet, I wanted her to get the shout-out. I mean $3K? ...the joy per dollar ratio is massive.
There's an orange McLaren 720s at a copart lot in Salt Lake city that showed up 2 or 3 weeks ago. If your interested let me know and I can get you some video or pictures. Thanks for such an amazing channel that I always look forward to on Saturday mornings!!!
That's a risky one, because you never know what copart could be hiding. But at the same time. There is a UA-camr who has two McLaren ls already and lives in Florida, so maybe mention this to him lol.
I bought the light! Its excellent! Yeah it’s a bit pricey but it’s tough as hell & I figure I owe Alex a few extra bucks for all the entertainment & education.
Also, I must add that the LSC merch is well thought out, useful high quality items. More of an actual retail shop than a cash grab gimmick like other channels. And US made when he can, that's what I really LOVE to see!!
Have you thought about looking into buying a dealership that has an attached shop that has closed or been abandoned? Thanks for the update on all of your cars. And thanks for all the knowledge you share and inspiration you give to us car guys or wannabe car guys and gals. Also, I think you should try and film you working with your son and just keep all the footage private. So you and him have something to go back and look at in the future. Just something to keep in the back of your mind.
I've suggested buying the unit next door or one on the same estate? To use as storage... .. Agree about filming with the kids. Younger years are the most precious..
I just ordered a pen light. I'm an aircraft mechanic. Sometimes I need a spotlight but most times I need a flood light. I'm happy to have both and I can charge it with my cell charger. I have several projects I work on besides planes. Can't wait to put this to the test and leave a review. If it sucks I will honestly let you know. I'm very particular with my lighting lol.
Fairly pricey and while rechargeable is a benefit it’s more useful when you can “hot swap batteries.” Forgetting to charge it at end of day or running out of battery then not being able to get plug in a new battery is a non starter for me
looks like a near clone of the $30 Nebo Larry Trio, except the Nebo has a pointing laser instead of the UV light. unfortunately i believe the trio is no longer in production after searching for them just now, i hope i don't lose mine, i love that thing.
12:56 -> 19,127 days is 52.4 years. The MP4-12C was first produced in 2011 which is 14 years ago. So your service interval is exceeded by 38 years before the car existed.
I was just coming here to say that "your McLaren is mistakenly under the impression that it is 52.4 years old.... instead of the 12 that it actually is."
Alex, as being a senior tech myself and watching UA-cam, you've grown a lot within several years. Keep up the good footage, will buy a flashlight (clay please) and good luck with your venture. I know how much time it takes and your wife helps. God bless her. You're going to need more employees soon if you keep it up...
I've worked with 18 year olds in shops that don't know how to use manual windows, which is kinda crazy since they were still very prominent when I was a kid just 25 years ago.
The caprice is a beautiful Aussie car down here which I have an earlier model and love it. The amount of room in it is amazing, huge amount of space everywhere.
I had an occasion to visit the shop and have a photo with everyone and my son who was still able to stand and walk. The following year he was full time wheelchair so I cherish that memory and the shop and will miss seeing it in these videos when there’s a newer and bigger legit street quarters. This was a fun update video. I honestly can’t pick a favorite car in the fleet.
Watching your videos and how easy you make repairs look that would intimidate me usually, it actually gives me confidence to tackle my own repairs. Just recently swapped the rear end in my truck which took a day and a half but man, so worth it. The truck is so quiet and enjoyable now. Thanks for the motivation you give us.
Renault did a turbo charged version of that engine in the Alpine A610. Just putting that out there. That McLaren SSG G-box is surreal, pure magic when you first experience it.
Alex, I'm sure there are many other viewers living vicariously through you. Lots of work along with the fun in the LSC stable. But it's SO worth it. As always, many smiles while watching. And inspires me to wrench on my small stable. 😊 Thanks for sharing your dreams. I am looking forward to your 2025 content. Alex, Max, family... Happy New Year!
The thing that I really appreciate about your channel is you. You might be the only guy on UA-cam that somebody walked up to you. You were not supposed to get a UA-cam channel but I've been doing really good I promise you I've been doing really really well with this UA-cam channel don't take it from you and I know I wasn't supposed to get it but I'm telling you I'm making it work. Because you're always putting in 100% into whatever you're doing whatever the project is I appreciate you man. Don't ever think for one second that we're watching you. Every single time every single time.
My first car was a 1986 Mercury Topaz with 44k miles on it in 2003. Didn't take care of it and blew the trans from too many neutral drops. So I found a totalled SHO and swapped the engine and trans in and called her the SHOpaz. My 3rd car was a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais. It did everything a car needed to lol. Love your vids !
For those of us that didn't grow up with our father, seeing father and son bonding, always is a big deal to me! You guys that had Dads, that spent time with you, are really lucky! I'll never know what that feels like!
The fact that McLaren has a display that says "no messages", instead of just, you know, not having the check engine light on. "No no, the display is working, but somehow your car isn't broken currently."
It's so wonderful how you incorporate your entire family into your passion and work (while honoring your kids' privacy) - and you make it look so effortless in the process even though I am sure it's so much work. Watching your videos always makes me happy :).
32:22 That’s why I buy OEM glass and have a body shop swap it then get the ADAS all recalibrated. Yes you have to put the money upfront but insurance always reimburses the bill
Not necessarily. I broke a windshield in my 2002 Camaro and wanted OEM glass. They had to check and because it was so new and low miles at the time, they agreed to OEM glass replacement. Others will only allow for aftermarket glass if available and of course at lowest cost. Glass companies never want to take responsibility for breaking anything. I tried to have a glass company swap defrost glass to a hatch with non defrost glass on a 4th gen Camaro. They didn't know how to remove it and broke the glass and gave up and I never heard from them again. Luckily they never sent me a bill either.
@ I worked for Geico so I knew how to cover it and get away with OEM glass. I should clarify. They will cover OEM with an ADAS on the glass as they don’t want to be in the hook for your car driving you off the road. However they will only cover a certain rate for the install. I worked at the shop so they didn’t charge me the difference in labor rate but it would have been like $140 bill in difference. Plus let’s be honest the difference in cost between A/M and OEM is so little I would have asked to pay the difference. Not a big deal glass is only like $1000 on most cars
Can you imagine if he's not packin heat either? Even if he was, it'll usually be 3 on 1 if they're after something like that. But they're probably too busy stealing Chargers anyway 😂
Especially since they've been hitting the NW side like crazy, including Park Ridge. They know CPD won't chase them, so they carjack people and flee into the city. It's only going to get worse.
Happy New Year Alex and to all of the legit streetcar family!! Can't wait for this Saturday's episode! Honestly been waiting since last Saturday it's always my favorite part of the weekend! Keep up the amazing content Alex your channel is hands down 1 of the best on UA-cam 🤘💪
AMAZING being able to share these cars and experiences with your young children Alex. As a kid who grew up through the 80's and 90's, the reverse facing 3rd row seating arrangement resonates heavily with me (Pontiac Parissene woody wagon). Memories to be cherished for a lifetime. LOVE the channel!!! (when do we get to see a Viper build???) 😁😁😁
For the iPod classic it’s relatively simple to change the battery but I really recommend backing up the music if it’s really important to you. I had an iPod touch in my car and it had a great music selection. Unfortunately someone broke into my car and stole it 😢. I never had a full backup of it and I always find myself looking for songs that were in that iPod
I know almost nothing about cars, engines, transmissions, etc. But for whatever reason I love this channel so much. Look forward to waking up every Saturday morning to watch you do some wrenching. Keep up the strong work brother. And Happy New Year.
Alex my favorite thing is how you get excited as much about an Oldsmobile as you do about a 720s 😂😂😂😂 True car guy! And Mercedes sunroof grease ! Sorry couldn’t help myself 🤷🏼♂️😂😂👍🏻
Hey at least as a chain driven water pump it's at least replaceable. Unlike some Ford and Chrysler cars which run off the timing chain. Cheap pump but loads of labor just to get to it.
Pinewood Derby... That's a blast from the past. Some 50 years ago I was with the Scouts here in the UK. One of our trips was to the Greenham Common US airbase. As part of that we participated in a Pinewood Derby with the Scouts on the base. My dad (rip) helped me design and build my entry. We achieve d 2nd on the day with my dad's knowledge. Thank you for bringing them memory back to me.
Keep the kids helping and inputting! They are the next generation. I had a few years working on cars with my daughter, but my son and I still do cars and motorcycles. Special times and special memories.
I think you should install battery disconnect switches on the cars, that you don't drive regularly. You could also get sodium ion batteries, but they are very hard to find. They don't break if you overdischarge them.
A lot engine management systems will have problems with no power, especially for a long time. I always leave a “Battery Tender” brand charger connected. NEVER use a “dumb” trickle charger. For remote tractors an stuff a good solar charger with a smart circuit is ok.
Alex, personally i did leave an moved 3,8oo klms away from family friends etc for work with my small family an it was an is amazing, builds good character in everyone close too u, U will not regret it!
Awesome video Alex! I really enjoyed the look back through your projects. Thank you for the great content which is what keeps me coming back to your channel. Looking forward to what lies ahead. Again Alex, Thank You...
The 720S is a hell of a car. You can tell by listening to the RPMs and shifts that you must have been in Mexico when you made this video. We all know that the roads are lawless when you're south of the border!
PLEASE more C63 content! Would love to see the Wavetrac install because I have one sitting waiting to go in as well, just too afraid to do it lol. Would LOVE to see a 5-10minute POV drive in the C63. Huge view potential and would love to hear some WOT supercharged pulls!
Love your videos as a fellow technician at a main dealer always inspiring me to take on jobs that I haven't done before. You forgot to mention the prototype space van lol and also I noticed i could be wrong but when you took the Delorian on a drive it looked the rev counter wasn't working or speedometer. 2025 can't wait to see your new upcoming projects.
Always watching your videos inspired me to get one for myself again. So I sold my hayabusa and picked up my Evo 8 that my wife found! It’s been great and going in for a tune on the 17th. Fully built 2.3L with 2.4 crank, 1000cc injectors, fp green turbo, etc. I’m hoping it’ll make close to 500. Itself been fun find and correcting little stuff on it and I’ll continue working on it for big 6466 turbo kit later in the year. Also the kids really enjoy it.
"Dodge not only showed up late to the party, but they were also at the wrong party, they were at a funeral." - Rich Benoit, Dodge Daytona EV: Solving Dodges Theft Issue One Car at a Time
My nephew, who was 18 at the time, got into my mom's Buick and didn't know how to put the car in drive. Because it was a column shift and the only cars he'd driven before had a center console with the shifter, he didn't know how to do it until I showed him. Blew my mind he didn't know because he hadn't driven one before.
Great video! Thanks for the update. Not that anyone asked, but here's how I (57 yr-old guy) would rank Alex's current fleet (not including the ones he's currently selling): 1. Trans Am 2. Charger Hellcat 3. E55 AMG Wagon 4. Buick Grand National 5. Escalade 6. Lightning 7. Olds Cutlass 8. Nissan GTR 9. Jeep Wrangler 10. Chevy Van 11. ML55 AMG 12. AMG C63 13. Typhoon 14. DeLorean 15. Eclipse Note: This doesn't mean I dislike the ones at the bottom of the list. I like and enjoy Alex's content on all of them. The ones at the top are my favorites, though.
Nice one Alex, great update, on the shop front why dont you get a 3 car stacker like hoovie, not sure if ur roof is tall enough but could be a car storage solution, all the best from a fellow youtuber in the UK mike AKA MEC from MEC-TEC 👍👍
One car i seriously miss , is my Plymouth horizon. Little yellow, double holley carburetors. It was ugly, but it was a performer and fill up the fuel tank and you can ride for two weeks to and from work. I miss that car .
Easy fix with the shop.... Seriously get the heck out of Chicago, buy land, build a barndo with a shop add-on. The way you want it.. As someone who lives in Central Illinois, you will be MUCH better out of that horrid area. Not that far of a drive to that hole if you need to go back.
Love the channel, love the content, love the cars. Been watching for years now. I love the whole collection but that Cutlas always makes me smile the most. I love that car so much. My father had one in the same color when I was younger and loved it. I tried so hard to find another one to buy him and when I did the day before I was supposed to see it, he passed away in the middle of the night. I have tried a couple more times to get one but every single time I have the funds saved something happens and I have to go to the hospital with my wives health issues (lupus) and that visit eats up all my money again. One day I will get there. Every time you show that Olds I smile when I think of me and my father cruising around in it in the mid 90s with the windows down, sunroof open and just enjoying time together. Thanks for the content and showing what you do to these cars. Your care and professionalism is really inspiring. Love your attention to detail!
In the late seventies my company*forged the ends on the torsion bars for the doors. We splined the od and broached the id. We shaped them and heat treated them also. I always thought the spline on the head was a preload adjustment that could be fine tuned. *the company I worked for.
Your family is adorable. Cheers, Alex - I love watching your videos each week, and really appreciate all the effort and thank you for everything you've taught me! I have a diesel s204 (the very last one sold in my country) which is an absolute rocket and mint, also a petrol c204 (again the very last model sold) which has less than 45,000km on the clock; it has the dynamic handling package which sucks, but aside from deleting that, is perfect. So I guess I came for the Mercedes content, but have loved learning about the weird and wonderful US built cars that I've never seen before. Thanks!
as an owner of multiple bmws, they are super reliable, if you take care of it. i had an 88 that spun a bearing at 600k mi {my fault} and a 2006 325i with 325k mi on it. the non turbo 4,6 and 8 cylinder engines are SUPER reliable. people just neglect to do the regular maintenance and then you have issues. no different than a Mercedes just different design

Absolutely!

$4,000 for some brake rotors, pads, and a water pump... how... just how do McLaren justify that?
You didn't lose money on that Taurus SHO; you took care of your family, and that is priceless.
Especially the father of your wife. You have to be on his good side!

Alex you’re awesome bro. Keep it up. My 3 sons and I are now making a Saturday morning together with you! God bless you bro!
Alex, you’re a brave man driving the HC around the Chicago area with your family in it, be careful out there, man
Can you imagine if he's not packin heat either? Even if he was, it'll usually be 3 on 1 if they're after something like that. But they're probably too busy stealing Chargers anyway 😂
He's got a pistol, and very likely a CWP.
He lives around whites. He is good so long as he doesn't leave it outside.
That’s asking for trouble, sadly
Especially since they've been hitting the NW side like crazy, including Park Ridge. They know CPD won't chase them, so they carjack people and flee into the city. It's only going to get worse.
57:59 classic. Still got mines and it works. 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks brother!
I was picking up from the AMS oil distribution center in Itasca on Monday and saw your order… of course I used your dealer code.
Just saw whistlin deisel wreck a cybertruck, nice to see somebody show love to cars!!!
I think it's fair to trash a dumpster. I mean like it's what it's made for.
@@warummussmeinnameangegeben6502and no good for towing or off roaring...
“ I before E “ especially in diesel.
I know almost nothing about cars, engines, transmissions, etc. But for whatever reason I love this channel so much. Look forward to waking up every Saturday morning to watch you do some wrenching. Keep up the strong work brother. And Happy New Year.
The way you bring these cars back to life is amazing! Wish you could work on my truck
Alex my favorite thing is how you get excited as much about an Oldsmobile as you do about a 720s 😂😂😂😂
True car guy!
And Mercedes sunroof grease !
Sorry couldn’t help myself 🤷🏼♂️😂😂👍🏻
That water pump is so unnecessarily complex.
McLaren ingenuity allows for sentences like "my water pump is leaking oil" to be possible.
I agree, but as an engineer it's so beautiful to look at.
The car is complex…
Hey at least as a chain driven water pump it's at least replaceable. Unlike some Ford and Chrysler cars which run off the timing chain. Cheap pump but loads of labor just to get to it.
Actually, it is quite simple compared to a lot of cars out there, some cars need an engine out job to replace the water pump.
I was actually surprised how easy it was to replace for a mid engine car. I was expecting Step 1: drop engine.
I was super surprised how easy the McLaren seemed to be to work on, even in your previous videos it didn’t “seem” that bad.
Yeah, much easier than the German cars.
Cool update! Happy New Year!
Alex, personally i did leave an moved 3,8oo klms away from family friends etc for work with my small family an it was an is amazing, builds good character in everyone close too u, U will not regret it!
Happy 2025
Awesome video Alex! I really enjoyed the look back through your projects. Thank you for the great content which is what keeps me coming back to your channel. Looking forward to what lies ahead. Again Alex, Thank You...
The 720S is a hell of a car. You can tell by listening to the RPMs and shifts that you must have been in Mexico when you made this video. We all know that the roads are lawless when you're south of the border!
All those takeovers going on in America must be in Mexico also
Love that E55!! Woo!! Never seen anything like it and I'm just shocked at how aggressive and fast that family car can be!
@4:32 It wouldn’t be an LSC episode without you sneaking in at least one “finagle” 😂
That part with your kid and the GN really made me smile. You seem like a great dad, Alex. ✌️
That's a pretty sweet fleet!
Happy New Year to the LSC crew and it’s community ❤
Hey i love watching your video, greetings from Serbia, i would love to see you repairing some Alfa Romeo on your future videos
Every Saturday morning my 2 year old son asks to watch your video.
I always look forward to your videos!!!
Pine Wood derby with the kids needs a video, I don't think many people these days know that's a thing.
"Dodge not only showed up late to the party, but they were also at the wrong party, they were at a funeral."
- Rich Benoit, Dodge Daytona EV: Solving Dodges Theft Issue One Car at a Time
Excellent, entertaining, and educational. As usual. Thanks.
But, the DeLorean needs a super-minor tweak to the speedometer. It’s missing 88.😊
I noticed the speedo wasn’t working at all.
Alex “I don’t have a new shop but I have bought a lot of new cars”
😂🤣
Uncle Ritch is hilarious, 28:08 " that was about 8 dollars in gas " 🤣🤣🤣🤣, and good answer Alex.
Amazing story
Great video! Thanks for the update. Not that anyone asked, but here's how I (57 yr-old guy) would rank Alex's current fleet (not including the ones he's currently selling):
1. Trans Am
2. Charger Hellcat
3. E55 AMG Wagon
4. Buick Grand National
5. Escalade
6. Lightning
7. Olds Cutlass
8. Nissan GTR
9. Jeep Wrangler
10. Chevy Van
11. ML55 AMG
12. AMG C63
13. Typhoon
14. DeLorean
15. Eclipse
Note: This doesn't mean I dislike the ones at the bottom of the list. I like and enjoy Alex's content on all of them. The ones at the top are my favorites, though.
I love the floating napkins in Rich's sled, you totally know he's on a road trip....
Nice one Alex, great update, on the shop front why dont you get a 3 car stacker like hoovie, not sure if ur roof is tall enough but could be a car storage solution, all the best from a fellow youtuber in the UK mike AKA MEC from MEC-TEC 👍👍
Looking forward to this video and just ordered a pen light!
I would like to see you do a rebuild and upgrade on that DeLorean engine. Must be more than 130hp in there!
"Friend from Florida" we all know you're talking about Jack from Jack Builds It. Can't wait to see the colab, good luck my man.
Could also be Bode Vision
One car i seriously miss , is my Plymouth horizon. Little yellow, double holley carburetors. It was ugly, but it was a performer and fill up the fuel tank and you can ride for two weeks to and from work. I miss that car .
Easy fix with the shop.... Seriously get the heck out of Chicago, buy land, build a barndo with a shop add-on. The way you want it.. As someone who lives in Central Illinois, you will be MUCH better out of that horrid area. Not that far of a drive to that hole if you need to go back.
FANTASTIC CATCH UP 👍👍STUNNING CAR COLLECTION 🥳🥳THANKS 🎉FOR SHARING 🥳❤️
Use some graphite lube on the axles for the derby car.
The OLDs is so cool and so rare.... I have Never seen one on the street.
In the late seventies my company*forged the ends on the torsion bars for the doors. We splined the od and broached the id. We shaped them and heat treated them also. I always thought the spline on the head was a preload adjustment that could be fine tuned.
*the company I worked for.
We also made the rod bolts that were in your cobra. Our marking was ink stamped on the head.
You didn't lose money on that Taurus SHO, you took care of family, and taking care of family is priceless.
Dom? Is that you??
FAMILY 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Amen
Family.
I wasn't going for a F&F meme moment here, but ok 😅
What about the bright idea (spaceship) ev concept? I don’t remember you selling that but it was for sure from 2024!
LSC = Love Saturday Content
Thanks!
You should drag the typhoon against the grand national
Definitely. Epic rivals!
Yes with
Mrs Alex in the other car!
she's a pro now...😎
Yes Alex vs Mrs Alex that would be a great episode!!
He needs to buy a Syclone and race all 3
Typhoon will own.
as an owner of multiple bmws, they are super reliable, if you take care of it. i had an 88 that spun a bearing at 600k mi {my fault} and a 2006 325i with 325k mi on it. the non turbo 4,6 and 8 cylinder engines are SUPER reliable. people just neglect to do the regular maintenance and then you have issues. no different than a Mercedes just different design
The rich and alex combo is awesome
