When I bought my abandon foreclosure house all the pipes weren’t getting water. I had to unhook the lines at all the elbows and shutoffs in basement and blew compressed air there every drain and it blew all the gunk that hardened in the lines out and the water has worked great ever since. Way better than tearing into every wall that has plumbing. It’s crazy how bad it is for anything to just sit
One fell swoop...Then you tested separately. If you lay something on the floor you dont have to wreck your clothes. You did a great job narrowing down the problem.Maybe you could open that filter and see why it plugged...It would be very interesting to see why it stopped letting fuel through.
It's possible to get water in your fuel if the fuel station hasn't purged their storage tanks recently and water acts as a fuel blockage in filters in cold weather as it freezes .
I have the same system on my 1979 K30, nothing but issues, secondary sticking, fuel injector connectors internally came loose. Etc etc. Pre pump filter clogged with less then 300 miles in it and took out my pump.
Best of luck during this cold snap. I live in central Florida and even we are going to get very cold compared to normal. I didn’t even know this was coming until you mentioned it. Please be on the lookout for animals that might be suffering in this and if you find one, help out what you can.
I don't know why but I've had dead fuel filters like that on Fords over any other car brand. Most likely coincidence but my Fords over the years liked to kill fuel filters.
I had a '66 F100 with the 240 truck six. The only problems I had were that the steering wandered, I had to adjust the steering gear box several times, and one day the shifter broke off near the base. I had it welded then sold it six months later; that was over 20 years ago and I'm pretty sure it is still on the roads up in Orlando. Painted in 6 very nice shades of Rustoleum...
I thought for sure this was a spark issue. Not that that would’ve been too difficult to fix if it had the old points and condenser ignition system and knew how to fix it, I’m a decade or so older than you and wouldn’t have known how to myself but I know you could’ve figured it out, but a bad fuel filter is much, much easier. I’m glad it was an easy fix. Great job on the troubleshooting, JR.
i know everyone is gonna ask but I'd love to see you open up that filter. My father filled up on the reservation once and it must have sucked in all the sludge at the bottom of their tank and completely filled the filter with this green "dirt".
If it was a 2024 grandpa’s ford f 100 it would probably cost $1000.00 or more…..I think grandpa was on to something there!👍🏼👍🏼😃 but what the heck is that little tv screen doing there😜
I watched a cable show that they installed a fuel pump that didn't work well. It turned out the instructions said the pump needed to be mounted above the fuel tank.
I have a snipper 2 Quadrajet on my car. Im not quite sold on it. It was very problematic when installed. It had old software in it. I updated and still have issues with it dying on deceleration. Not fun in a manual car. And occasionally issues with the IAC staying at between 5% and 2% TPS staying at 0% at idle.
Shouldn't be running fuel that goes into your engine that plugged up one fuel filter. Add fuel tank not a clean is what you were hoping it could be. Love the content.
The problem was very obvious from the rip to me,especially after seeing that cobble on the frame, sniper is great, but any older engine fresh or not needs to be warmed up, stupid to get in ANY vehicle, hit the key and throw it in gear
I second that advice. Was using a plug-in drill, hunched over, on my knees. I was keeping careful watch on the spinning parts that my draw strings stayed safely away, then BAM!! One string found it's way through a cooling vent on drill motor. That little 3/8 drill armature wound up the string so quickly that I suffered quite a sore neck. Stay safe!
The hamburglar face on the carburetor flap is laughing at you for thinking you could figure it out. I swaped a 20r from a Weber to a got propane kit & won't ever go back to a carbi d.
Even the awesome improvements eventually betray us, still watching. I really wanted to put FI on the Dart but that was early in doing that sort of mod or buying a kit.
Why would you go through the trouble of plugging in that O’Reillys spark tester, I use one shaped like a pen and just touch it to the wire while running or cranking with a remote start switch
My 64 Ford pickup was my favorite truck I ever owned and one of the most dependable. 230 6 cylinder? Stay warm. Arkansas is going to miss this round I hope.
Omg… just chuck a little gas down the throttle body first..why don’t ya.. spark tester to be used after obvious wet frame from fuel pump leak issue is first inspection.…only over complicate things in usa… you guys gotta show us how usa has got “all the tools”.😂😂😂😂
Put the carburetor back on, which was fine for making power, and get rid of all the extra wiring this truck never should have had. You do not want to go that fast in this truck anyway.
carburetors are fucking awful. Too hot? No starting! Too cold? No starting! Air too humid? No starting! Get it started? Gotta idle at least 5 minutes before trying to drive it or it'll die. Fuck all that bullshit nonsense.
@@Sabrinahuskydog Awwwww you have to let it warm up for it to work as intended. Who actually has 5 minutes to spare, right? The engineers of this truck were much smarter than any of you guys installing wiring the truck never should have. JR created many points of failure that he cannot fix on the side of the road. I am sure you see that as an advancement.
Hey JR, you should do a little surgery on that plugged fuel filter to see what plugged it up.
Dropped down here to ask the same.
Rust from the tank, or old fuel line rubber is getting in?
@B.V.Luminous Pretty sure he stated Brand New Tank
Biggest part of this - your proper diagnostic procedures. Isolating and testing one thing at a time. Stay safe with the storm.
That's such a beautiful pickup. It appears to be almost entirely original. I couldn't help but notice the assembly line grease pencil on the firewall.
Best truck on the channel
JR did you figure out why gas was spraying on the frame near the filters and pump? Was it spraying out of the bad filter or something else?
Stay safe out there! I saw Blizzard warnings for a lot of Kansas, and I don't think it's Dairy Queen's new marketing strategy.
Next on JRGo, my snow shovel stopped working…
I said it was the fuel filter. Why don't you listen to me? 😄Happy New Year JR.
The next video can be you replacing the bent push rod
Ugh, that's a huge job... It's already a brand new one and it bent that one. People say you have to buy thicker ones to fix FEs 😬

Would be good to see its internals……to identify faulty product or maybe dirty fuel
Inquiring minds need to know. What was the problem with the filter, also what's with the obvious leakage?
i have TWO black/red insulated flannels like VGG, so everyone knows its a vehicle maint. day 🔧🔩⚙
We use fuel filters and are always surprised when they do their job.

cut open that filter, if its full of stuff your tank is going bad
@@rkeantube it’s a brand new tank
Wouldn't it be funny to find junk in the filter from the "brand new" tank?
@@WatchJRGo That doesn't mean that there isn't junk in it from the fuel you put in the new tank. Check it anyway.
@@WatchJRGo bad fuel?
We all know that brand new replacement parts are of "excellent" quality...

Hello JR Hope You Are Doing Well 👋
I wonder if the filter element collapsed from being on the suction side of the filter
Glad you got it up and running again , bro!
Got some nice light in the garage.

Good Evening John Ross
Hey Douglas! 🍻
Subaru rear trunk mats are great for keeping clean & they clean real easy.
need dielectric grease on ur plug wires
As Carl once said “ain’t got no gas”
Such a cool truck, certainly worth to fix that transmission leak. Great diagnose and fix. hi5
Great adventure, that was! Like old times!
My Father had a green one. I used to drive it
Slice that filter up (like corylechner8303 said below) and expose the problem! LOL Congrats on finding it!!

Hello JR.
LOL the filter must have detreated inside and caused a blockage.
14:22 Smart move.
WAS THAT FILTER RATED FOR NEGATIVE PRESSURE ?
Thank the Lord it something simple. You dodged a bullet. I know you’re greatly relieved.
Could ethanol in the fuel be gunking up the system? If it's not used often, it might be the problem.

There is a discount if you turn in you sniper one for two I think
change both filters.
Hi jr
What harm would it have been to just pour a little gas down the throttle body?
Old tanks are vented gas evaporates and gets bad quick

That thing sounds like its got a bent pushrod.
