How often do either of us do a drone video where everything works... hahaha
lol good call, buddy... I do like this drone and I think it has a lot of potential but it is priced a bit high for the bugs I've experienced. I did hear though there's a way to adjust the stick sensitivity so once I figure that out, I'm hoping to do a follow up on this and see how much it improves the experience. The drone did have some great video footage at least so if I could have a bit more control of the yaw, that would make a huge difference I'm sure. Mini 3 and 4 pro wins this one though, no question.. lol Not many drones out there can beat the Mini 4 pro.
Oh yea the video quality is definitely there. Now once I can figure out how to adjust the stick sensitivity maybe we can get some really good cinematic footage, eh?
Heck yea, man! Even though there are some serious bugs I need to figure out I'd say the same. I really liked the video quality and am really looking forward to figuring out how to adjust the stick sensitivity. I've been told I did that wrong.. hahaha
Overall the drone isn't awful, the camera actually was the best I've seen out of a holystone, but as far as comparing to DJI with functionality, still has a long way to go.

Good day Kevin. Thanks for this new video with a mini dron killer...... welll, this is not the case as its heavier but, anyway. This drone is very similar to one of my first learning drone I did purchase 5 years ago, the ZLRC SG906 Pro. More or less same size, they are good for learning but away ahead of other brands drones, without considering top brands in market. As per Amazon, they have special features like panorama, or timelapse, spiral, ....... maybe you can also test those. Anyway, lets give Harvey a welcome.......or good bye?
lol I say for now Harvey is welcome to be part of the fleet. There’s some stuff we gotta work out but overall I’m happy with it. There’s some other drones out there that really resemble this one though that’s for sure. I’ve heard there’s a way to adjust the stick sensitivity so once I figure that out I’ll be able to hopefully test the cinematic part of things. Maybe do a retest. lol.
hahaha... Dwight and Rose may have something to say about their landing pad being shared so much lately... I was happy with this drone overall. I just have a couple bugs to work out with the sticks and that pesky cruise control. I'm gonna do a follow up video on this one once I figure out how to adjust the stick sensitivity because I think the video quality is really good. Too bad I couldn't get some really good cinematic footage because of that stick being so tight, eh?
Thanks as always, Dave!!! This drone did ok, but I'm sure an experienced drone pilot could've done a lot better... haha Once I figure out how to adjust the stick sensitivity, I'm gonna do a follow up on this one and see how much better it can be. Hope you're doing better, brother! We're still keeping you in our prayers :)
Thanks for watching as always, Johnny. Yea I agree. I thought it was really stable and the video was really good. At least on a Were the Roberts level. Haha. I’m gonna do a follow up on this if I can figure out how to adjust the stick sensitivity. Apparently it’s a feature I missed. Shocked! Haha
Here in Texas, even though they're in your feet, they're a pain in the A$$! Sticker Burrs, Grass Burrs, or just plain Stickers! Doesn't matter Kevin, another informative and entertaining video my friend! Keep em coming!
Thanks, Mark! I enjoyed this drone and think it has a lot of potential. Once I figure out all these little bugs I'll have a better overall opinion... lol
lol the battery symbols are up in the upper right corner. There's one for the drone and one for the controller. Also, they're displayed on the controller LED screen but it's almost impossible to see that screen in the sunlight. I do agree though, it's a good looking drone and I think the video quality is pretty good. There's some bugs to work out so eventually I want to do a follow up video once I figure some of them out. Like the cruise control... lol
I've not had a chance to try anything but my mini 3 so far. I just did a dusk test flight to try out my new anti-collision strobe-scary. Good video Mr. Roberts.
Good review Kevin. Looks like a good place to fly and I'm going to have to head there in a couple of weeks when I get down there from the far north. I'll stick with my DJI birds. Maybe we can meet up to fly. A number of spots you've done tests at are places I've flown.Good job!!
hey, man that would be awesome! That was Butler Park West if you're familiar with it. It's becoming one of my favorite places to fly because it doesn't seem too busy most times. I like the pavilion shade.. lol When are you coming down this way? If you check our channel out on a computer, you can see our email address listed in the about tab I think is where it is. Send me an email and we'll see if we can work out a meet.. Thanks so much for watching and for your continued support. God bless and stay safe!
Alright brother , fantastic video and review as always! Harvey is huge, he’s a beast , looks even bigger than Rikki when you tested him! Well camera quality looks really good can’t fault that atall , functionality doesn’t look as good as the dji , and I agree with you he needs to improve on the Rth etc! Did you manage to get the cruise control to work when the camera stopped rolling? Overall he looks a decent drone to be fair mate, thanks for sharing! Have a great week ! 👌👍👏👏
lol oh, yea, Harvey is huge... He's about 2 times the weight of Ricky and at least several inches bigger... I really enjoy this drone even though there's a bunch of bugs I have to work out. The cruise control simply doesn't work which is weird but I'm gonna figure it out before I give up on it.. lol I've been told you can adjust the sticks so once I figure that out, I'm gonna retry the cinematic footage... I'm hoping it makes a huge difference because the video seemed really good, eh?
Any test flight that gets your aircraft back in one piece is a success. Now that you are almost 4K subscribers you are going to have to upload all your videos in 4K.
You could call the new drone "The General." With my DJI Mavic, I can slow the left and right movement way down at either cinematic or normal speed by going into advanced camera mode. One of the UA-cam drone pilots explained how to do this. I did this for my cinematic mode and you can crank the sticks over hard and it will still move slowly.
yea that's a cool option on the DJI drones... I've been told this one has that capability, too so once I figure that out, I'll try to do a follow up video and see if things go better. I still have to figure out the cruise control, too.. I know I was screwing something up somehow. Isn't it always user error when We're the Roberts is involved? hahaha
Still needs a lot of improvements for what you tested man. I couldn't see on screen a cancel for the RTH too. Thats weird unless i missed it? Maybe cruise control only works at certain speed too? Good Test though brother 😀
lol yea, for sure there's some bugs to work out. I'm thinking they're mainly user error bugs again but that remains to be seen. The return to home button on the screen apparently turned blue when it started the RTH flight and it kind of blended in to the screen so I couldn't see it. Especially since it was so warm and sunny (not like there hahaha)... Anyway, I've been told there's a way to adjust the stick sensitivity so once I figure out how to do that, I may do a follow up on this drone and see if things behave better.. Cruise control irritated me a bit but that's gonna be figured out, too. There has to be something simple I missed... No surprise there.. lol
Ruko, Veenix, and Holy Stone all seem to have touchy camera tilt and yaw. The right gimbal-control wheel is a little clumsy for me, too. Good video, Kevin. Going out here in a bit to film a small parcel of real estate after I top off my batteries. Enjoy your day! You're retired, now, don'tcha know? ;-)
lol I saw the parcel you’re taking about in Fairmont. Is that the one? I don’t know where Pennsylvania Ave is up there though. Haha. I just found out that Ruko and Veenix are the same and holy stone may have another brand too called Holyton. I’m still looking into that though. Holy stone contacted us for another drone but it’s called Holyton. I asked them if it’s a typo or another associated brand but haven’t heard back yet. Anyway, I wasn’t too impressed with the yaw stick being so tight but apparently you can adjust the sensitivity on those sticks so I’m gonna look into that and do a follow up video. I thought the video quality was good though.
Whoa, that’s huge. On the positive side, I could fly farther out than with my Mini 2. I normally lose visual with it at about 1000’ unless I have my strobe on.
Hahaha. Yea man it is a biggen. I know what you mean about losing the mini drones in the sky. I can see the mini drones till the 1300-1400 mark but once I look away, I have a lot of trouble relocating it. This one though was no problem. I may could do a visual test to see how far away I can see it. That could be part of the follow up I may do if I can figure out how to adjust the stick sensitivity. We’ll see what happens. Hahaha
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, brother. Yea, this camera is really good for sure. The sticks were really stiff so it made it impossible to get any good cinematic footage but I've been told there's a way to adjust the stick sensitivity. Once I figure that out, I'm gonna do a follow up video and see how much difference it makes. It could be a while for me to figure it out.. hahaha
Nice video and I like Holy Stone. My 1st experience with any drone was the hs100. it is the most unstable drone when its calm. hahahaaha! I want to donate it but dont know how to do it. Dont want to really trash it. I have 3 batteries and 3 pairs of propellers/guards cause I was hoping to keep it for a long time. It flew on a windy day to a tree thats behind my house and 2 weeks later it fell with no damage!
Hahaha. Man that brings back memories. I know a thing or 2 about the old school holy stone drones. I still keep it around for prosperity sake though so ain’t no donations here. Hahah.
That start up chime sounds like my first ever drone that cost me £40. I don’t mean to belittle Harvey but he looks a little on the cheap side. He’d make a great strimmer though (weed whacker) 😂 Everyone deserves a chance though 😂
hahaha... He may look a bit on the cheap side but in person this sucker is heavy! Seems pretty well made, too but it could use some help. I've been told you can adjust the stick sensitivity so once I figure out how to do that, I'm gonna do an update video and see if things go better. He definitely makes a good weed whacker. He's a beast! lol
Thanks for the demo Kevin, like some of the others leaving comments, it’s a Thumbs DOWN for what it’s worth. Not a thumbs down for your involvement, but overall for the drone and it’s value!! Even with the current $100 bucks off and your 30% discount it’s still Way OVERPRICED for what it really is! There’s no way I’d be happy with the video quality of the RTH being so far off. Even though it’s not precision landing, 20+ feet off is absurd especially since it’s GPS driven. I’d be a customer “maybe” at less than $150 and more realistically right at $100 bucks! DJI as you already know as well as most others know it’s the BEAST and the BEST! Thanks for the demo brother and my comments have zero to do with you or the demo, it’s just the simple FACTS of the product!
I gotta thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment, buddy.. I never take any of the negative feedback on these videos personally.. I mean, I didn't make the drones... hahaha Anyway, I agree it's overpriced by a good bit and can't compare to the DJI stuff that's out right now. I did like the video quality for the most part but the sticks were way too stiff to get any good cinematic video. That yaw was FAST!!!! lol
@ yeah no doubt brother you(Everyone)should take the comments with a grain of salt for, I would be the exact same way! I subscribed to your channel way back when but never have commented until this vid we’re talking about. You’re a good guy and I def enjoy your vids and positive attitude as well as how you take the time to do the vids in the first place, they’re a LOT of work! Anyhow brother, have a good one from the Big D(Dallas haha)!
@@171jacjaclol this stuff is pretty fun. Once it starts feeling like work we may need to take a step back but for now it’s too much fun to get bent out of shape, eh?
Hahahaha. What’s worse is she works at the pediatrician office right next door to the dentist I was at. Fortunately there was another spot close so I was good. You’re right though. It’s typical nowadays.
at min. 2.55 its called the domino effect…😂😂😂 the piece a piece of foam? for calibration, u can callibrate this thing with 1 hand. just hold it and turn urself around, turn the drone upside down and turn urself again. so no need to lay dowm the rc. Greetings from Austria 😊👍🏻
lol that domino effect got me good... I'm just glad the water bottle wasn't my coffee cup... haha Thanks for the tip on the calibration by the way... I've seen people do it that way in the past but I guess I'm just used to working harder... lol God bless!!!
thanks for watching and commenting... Yea, there was a GPS lock at the beginning but I skipped past it... It took a few seconds to lock in once the controller and drone binded up if that's a word.. lol
@@WeretheRoberts I hear ya. Just noticed on the control zippo on the satellite/gps... I have an HD600D among a couple of other Holy Stones. The HD600D is pretty rock solid for a LOWER END compared to DJI's upper end line. Some folks don't get that. Two totally different price points. But for a "toy", this thing can be used in so many ways as a tool or just for fun. I have both, understanding what each is used for. I will say this, Holy Stone's customer care can teach a few companies what customer care actually is. Always straight up and makes things right.
That’s awesome! We’ve been dealing with some different companies lately like Ruko and Holy Stone and I’ve been surprised how fun these non DJI drones are to fly. For the most part they fly really well and the video on the last few I’ve flown has been great. I’m not a professional so I don’t need 8K footage or even 4K for that matter. Our internet won’t support 4k video when uploading woo well. It takes forever. Haha. It’s also good to hear holy stones customer service is good. They’ve definitely been around for a long time so I’m hoping they can eventually get on par with DJI and be a real competitor.
Hahaha. Dwight and Rose ain’t scared. I did like the drone though. Holy Stone has been around for a long time and they always seem to have an issue or 2, eh? lol. I’m gonna figure out that cruise control.
Good video but where do I start! I don’t like the video when you pan left or right it looks like it jerked a little bit. The return to home is almost about a mile away from the landing pad lol. It should not be that hard to put in cruise control. I don’t know why they would make one button like that two different things. Also why would they have the gimbal pointing down when it lands so it can just be torn up by the items on the ground? It should face forward when it gets closer to the ground. I can see that being detrimental to the gimbal. OK, the signal looks OK. I wanted you to test the distance to see how far you can go over water and then come back. Lol also, I am surprised it didn’t say landing now or something. Maybe they should have something pop up when you pull the phone down letting you know recording stopped also. They need a lot of work but as a beginner drone for someone to actually play around, with and learn how to fly one yeah I think that would be a good thing. Just depends on the price point with that said I would actually probably buy the DJI 4k as a beginner drone. Last but not least I think you need to buy stock in HolyStone lol. Good video really overall showing people what the drone can do . Keep them coming!
lol you said it all, man... I agree with everything you said here and I'm hoping the video "jerk" sideways movement was because the sticks are so stiff making it hard to control. I've been told though there's a way to adjust the stick sensitivity so once I figure that out I'll try to do a follow up video and see how much better the video is. Overall I think it's a cool drone but the cruise control was a bit confusing. There's a lot more to test on this thing but it's hard to do it all on one video. It would be over an hour long... hahaha
I thank you Kevin for your quest finding a drone that competes with DJI , however this drone falls far short, of coming even close lol, the camera is awful, gimbal tilt, poor control , for the price you can buy the Mini 3, however I do find you entertaining, and wish you all the very best in your endeavours, wishing you and your family all the very best during the festive season and have a very happy 2025, regards
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment... I do agree with you that this drone falls short of the DJI series, but I do think it's the best mini killer/crusher we've tested so far... It's got some potential but it still needs work... I really do appreciate your kind words and wish you guys a Merry Christmas.. God bless!!!
lol finally! But we STILL had problems. Nothing new there I reckon. Haha. I’ve got some stuff to figure out on this drone but I think it’s gonna be good once I get it straight.
Sorry to refute your assessment of “good” Kevin, but dare I say that for $570 I give this drone five 👎🏼 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 and a big BAD! I wouldn’t pay much more than a Franklin. No way is that drone a Mini 2 crusher. But hey, what do I know? 😂
@@TC_Connerhahahab she refuses to be in anymore videos. She’s pretty hard headed when she makes her mind up. Maybe once we start our trip in April she won’t have a choice while we’re driving and i can get some footage. Haha
lol I misspoke and tried to fix my mistake with a picture but a lot of guys didn't see it... It's level 6 so that's at least better than 5... The camera says "sony" on it but I know that's only talking about the sensor, right? I'm not sure what kind of camera is on it, but honestly the video seemed pretty good to me. My only real problem was how stiff the sticks were. But I've been told there's a way to adjust the stick sensitivity and once I figure out how to do that, I'll fly it again and hopefully do a follow up video. I think this drone has some promise for sure, but you're right.. It's a bit pricey for sure...
Personality, I think this drone is basically for children. No drone pilot is going to want to fly drone that cannot fly itself back to The landing pad. That is very very terribly bad. The Drone has to come back to The landing pad because the landing pad symbolized that you are telling the Drone this is your safest landing spot. Landing that far away could cause you to loose the drone, in certain situations. it has to be able to come back safest landing spot.
I totally understand where you're coming from, buddy... The return to home didn't work as well as I was hoping for sure... I'm wondering if there was some user error going on with that along with the cruise control attempts... lol I'm gonna be doing a follow up on this one eventually because I've been told there's a way to adjust the stick sensitivity like with a DJI drone so the sticks aren't so jerky... Anyway, once I figure that out, I'll see how it helps... Thanks so much for watching and for your continued support on the channel. We really appreciate it... God bless!!!
Not a bad drone, and an excellent test! Not a mini killer, as you said, too big, but quite impressive. I do like the fact that it's easier to see. Once I take my eyes off my Mini 2 or 4 to look at the screen, it's very hard to find if more than a few hundred feet away, when I look for it in the sky. It could use some improvements, including precision landing, but a pretty good looking drone for a non DJI product. BTW, speaking of precision landing, how's this for precision return to home landing? ua-cam.com/users/shortshIPa956p8X8
I agree, man... This drone is pretty cool and has a lot of cool options I still have to figure out of course... lol You can't expect me to fly a drone on our channel and not have any problems, right? hahaha I'm gonna try to do a follow up video on this one though because I've been told there's an option to adjust the stick sensitivity like DJI. I clicked on the link here and it wouldn't work.. It said, "A Problem has Occurred" whatever that means.. lol maybe try to text it to me?
I actually like the size of this drone but then again, I don't mind registering the drone with the FAA... I'm gonna get some of these bugs worked out and readdress this drone... lol

16:56 RTH blue button on the left. Maybe difficult to sea in bright sunlight.
yea, man that blue button was invisible in the sun... I saw it when I was editing but never addressed it.. lol That's a minor thing, eh? lol
Looks great ❤video
Oh yea the video quality is definitely there. Now once I can figure out how to adjust the stick sensitivity maybe we can get some really good cinematic footage, eh?

No surprise there.. lol
@ I’m sure you will work it out haha 😝
Hahaha
Camera is really good.
It could be a while for me to figure it out.. hahaha
The Specta Mini is the closest thing!
Man I wanna try the Specta drones...
He’d make a great strimmer though (weed whacker) 😂
Everyone deserves a chance though 😂
It's not Harvey . I think this is the American plan to bring back these drone so that they can go forward with bannding rid of DJI
Wow 0:15 typical
@ someone said in German its called the drone dance 😁
@@StillMeHagihahaha. I believe it!
No Satellite hook up?
thanks for watching and commenting...
They’ve definitely been around for a long time so I’m hoping they can eventually get on par with DJI and be a real competitor.
the video quality is not bad but i think rose and Dwight will use it to hold their landing pads down for them haha the mini killed another one.
It would be over an hour long... hahaha
@@WeretheRoberts Yeah I am sure there is a way to adjust those sticks sensitivity. Yep can't wait to see the follow up video.
Salut . Dar cu 603 grame nu intră în categoria mini ..
That’s true. That’s why it’s a mini crusher.
That was a scratch free test.
lol finally!
I bet you'd call it a mini crusher if I dropped it from 50 feet and it landed on a mini... hmmmm
@ Well, heck yes it’d be a mini crusher then! 😂😂😂 (Please tell Ms. Kristi to appear in one of your videos soon! I’m havin Kristi withdrawal!)
@@TC_Connerhahahab she refuses to be in anymore videos. She’s pretty hard headed when she makes her mind up. Maybe once we start our trip in April she won’t have a choice while we’re driving and i can get some footage. Haha
@@WeretheRoberts Email comin at ya soon
So it's basically doing the same as a Mavic air did 6 years ago
That's a possibility. I wasn't involved in drones 6 years ago but I can see something like this being amazing back then, eh? DJI is safe... lol
@WeretheRoberts you should buy some old DJI s they are pretty cheap second hand
@@justso1823hahaha. Wife says I already have too many drones and need to sell some so we can go get some groceries. Hahaha
Only level 5 for such a heavy drone. At $499usd ( $700cdn).. that's one pricey budget drone. Do you know what camera is on it?
lol I misspoke and tried to fix my mistake with a picture but a lot of guys didn't see it...
Sorry I will stick to DJI at the moment
lol ain't nothing wrong with that decision in the lease, Paul... Thanks so much for watching and commenting.. :) God bless!
Hi Kevin,
As you sink your teeth into drone testing, please don't bite too hard. I hate screaming.
hahaha I may have chipped a tooth here...
It’s not a mini cause I s big beast there good drone I have 2
lol I do like the drone but it’s too big to be a mini. That’s why it’s a mini crusher. Haha. There’s some bugs to work out but we’ll get there. Lol
@@WeretheRoberts OK, I texted it to you.
Doesn’t even come close to a mini 3 pro
gotta agree there.... :) Thanks for watching and commenting, buddy... God bless!
Its not a mini drone though.. it's bigger than my Potensic Atom.
Oh, yea, it's way bigger than a mini drone. I think I could fit Rose, Dwight and Jack all 3 in this thing...
Dji is going down. Hopefully.
lol I’d really like to see some good competition come to DJI for sure. They have it made at the moment don’t they?
@WeretheRoberts yes. But with the current attention being brought forth about mother China. The heat is on them.
Size isn’t everything
I actually like the size of this drone but then again, I don't mind registering the drone with the FAA... I'm gonna get some of these bugs worked out and readdress this drone... lol
Drone somente dji o resto é brinquedo
lol that’s a good point, buddy. DJI is still king. Haha
