He may have been licking the salt that comes from sweating. A lot of animals in America like what we call, a salt lick, which is a block of salt. It's basically like a human drinking a bottle of electrolytes to replenish strength & quench thirst. We all need each other in some capacity, just like this man. 😊😊😊 Merci beaucoup! ❤
It might have been raised by rescuers then released back, that's what happened with the racoon who lives under our deck. We wondered why she was so friendly and the wildlife people told us we could see if she had a chip, so we scanned her and she did. She had been released into the wild just a year before she took-up residence with us. So since she wasn't going anywhere I made a shelter for her, and last year she had babies and brought them to us to show them off.

This cute little guy is friendly and doesn't get scared of human, it might be rescued by human before. It's so cute and lovely. The man had an awesome experience.
With the exception of interacting with & creating beautiful memories with our children, I can think of no other moments in life that are more joyful, are more simply wonderful, or are more satisfying & memorable than our interactions with animals... ESPECIALLY with our beloved pets, who are OFTEN thought of & literally feel as tho they ACTUALLY ARE... our children.💗🤗💗

Fast jedes Lebewesen braucht Salz , vielleicht sogar alle,da bin ich überfragt.Das Kind hat sich das geholt was es auch braucht und Glück gehabt auf so liebenswerte Menschen zu stoßen. I wonder if this marmot was attracted to the salt present on human skin and sweat because it might have been deficient in salt and was seeking to re-mineralize itself... 🤔
although a most beautiful and awesome experience that I would also love to have happen to me also, I would worry that any wild animal may carry rabies which is spread through their saliva (even though he wasn't bitten, it was risky to let him lick his face).But this was wonderful to see 😊

'Shortly after this trip Aurelian was admitted into hospital and sadly never left. Had he or anyone accompanying him been aware of how easily transmittable and how deadly Marmot Aids were perhaps Aurelian would be with us now. Sadly has become just another number added to the tens of thousands victim at the paws of what the French call 'Le Petit Duveteux Assassin.'

"you should never feed wildlife" but you SHOULD let them climb on your face & lick you 😒 The point of not feeding wildlife is so you don't habituate them to people. I'd say that ship has sailed, give the poor critter a few nuts & berries ffs

@@mtnman1984 From a human which is not in the natural order of that ecosystem. It should be illegal to interact in this manner with animals. We think it’s cute and that no harm is being done but it is. Not a laughing matter. The lady was chasing down the other animal to get it to interact with her. Watch the animals from a distance and avoid damaging the natural order.

Humans have evolved to be like an invasive species hiking, exploring, hunting, researching, drilling, digging, etc in places where we don’t belong. Human’s self-serving actions are the greatest threat to other animals on land, seas, and air and the overall health, viability, and livability of the plant.
