@@вусович Why Poland? Because Belarus is culturally, mentally, and historically closer to Poland than to Russia. Just look at this piece of Belarusian folklore, the outfits they wear, the rhythms and music they play, and the way they dance and articulate themselves. There's so much affinity to the Polish culture and lore coming as the common legacy of the Polish and Lithuanian Commonwealth. Save for the language itself which is very close to Polish, too, there aren't many perceivable differences between their performance and Polish kujawiak, krakowiak, oberek, or mazurka dances. Just compare the way they look, sing, and dance with Russian folk ensembles. There's a world of difference due to Far Eastern peoples' influence on the Russian culture and folklore, which are beautiful in themselves, too, but clearly, visibly, and audibly distinct.

Yesterday, we found this Belarus folk dance group performing in Drammen. Their bus had broken down, so this was a one-time-experience for us. There are two performances in this video and #2 is a comedy one. Sorry about the shaky experience a couple of times in the second half, but I had a couple of giggles. *Enjoy!*
It is probably because I filmed it using a mobile phone and because I may have held it a bit funky. I forgot to change to the standard back coming with the phone, so I had to hold it in a "flip" covering the screen while unused. Like this: www.dealstop.ie/images/18-for-genuine-samsung-galaxy-siii-flip-case-blue-or-white-including-nationwide-delivery-worth-36.jpg
We tested it on the living room speakers (PC-to-TV via Blu-Ray 5.1 player and speakers) and a couple of times I hear the sound change, but I do believe it is either because the women sing *really* loud (males, too, but I didn't look at them much) and because they are close to me at tht point. That was my theory in the beginning..........
