integrity, genuine concern, and hope disguised as a loud and dark monster. I love the irony of existence.
I didn't realize KJ were a band that hipsters liked...
He is deeply compassionate, intelligent and eloquent. He has a unique ability to connect the dots.
I think and say the same, yet my family lock doors and think I'm insane.
ComeTheDawn 64 - I am not insane, my friend, and neither are you!
From John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness: "I'm not insane, you hear me? I'm not insane!"
ComeTheDawn 64 😁😁
The wind blows outside. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.
I love Jaz. He's a wonderful, warm, and consideration person. Sure he's had his moments, but haven't we all. It's a wonderful thing that they are all back together, making the best music of their career, and loving it. Long live Killing Joke. We need them more than ever now.
I've heard from fans that he is arrogant and has no respect for them...
the "moments" are the best parts of him.... would like to know more tho :)
@@heavymetalrybakinaHe has a tendency to fall into non-stop monologue, to hold lectures, which is generally not other peoples’ idea of having a conversation.
Jaz Coleman just voiced much of what I've been thinking the last few years. Good to know that I am not alone! Bring on the revolution
It's been 5 years... Have you brought the revolution yet?
@@heavymetalrybakina I wonder
I felt in love with KJ when i was 14. Now i,'m 50 and still a fan. They have done so much for the development of music. Such a great band und music. Thank you so much. Greetings from Germany. 🤘
Wow, this interview was done 5 years ago, yet everything he is saying is very relevant now, Jas Coleman is like a prophet!
Jaz is definitely a sort of prophet and Killing Joke music is prophetic!
and he\s been talking that way since the 80s
He did classical music for the Olympics and is very close with the pm of New Zealand. He is in the know put it that way.
26:25 "I've got a paradise in the Pacific, I've got a farm, my own beach, my own jungle even. But I can't be there, I have to be here. Here where everything's shit, and people's lives are shit. It means nothing to me. This means everything to me. To share this with these guys that I've known since I was a teenager. That in itself is a great gift."
My love of this band...
jaz and his men are an amazing force.were very lucky to have these guys doing what they do best to the best of there abilities.i was born the year they formed and am still shocked there better now than they ever have been.i hope i could say the same for myself, not sure thow. thank you killing joke for making mine and many others lifes a lot more interesting and giving us a pulse to live to
+Herbert King Hear here!
bravo! same team here.
Love killing joke..I've followed them since 1980.a prophesy fulfilled is a great read...saw them 2 years ago in Bristol UK, awesome gig, one of the best I've seen for a while..will be seeing them play next year
I don't think this was the "interview" the guy wanted.
Hahahahahaha.... exactly
Brilliant! The guy is completely stumped... "It's been an experience chatting to you man!" Bahahaha!
The interviewer seems very much out of his depth
I think he was rather enlightened at the amount of human depth Jas has attained. I know I'm completely blown away.
Great man and great musician!
Interview him now in 2020 !!!
This is so prophetic 5 years ago...amazing....wow wow wow !
How heartfelt were the last few minutes there of that interview.
Killing Joke song called 'The Great Cull' Seems very phrophetic during The Coronavirus
And i am the virus. I think he knew
form the album .... pylon....
This pandemic has been planned for years
@@sotonsaints i agree. By groups of government agenda policies a type of NWO system
Jaz probably considers the virus an invention by the CIA to more easily conquer Mars.
What a powerful piece! Thank you Jaz and the rest of Killing Joke for providing us with this exceptional experience.
Jaz is guy with beautiful, crazy, mad smile!! I love to se him smile!
i thought he was going to say my universe .. and he said university .... hahahahah
Been listening to Jaz Coleman's thoughts the last few days on youtube. A revolutionary purist (in my eye) who has experienced the world physically/spiritually. And there are VERY few people in this universe who are able to honestly praise and share this to a larger audience. Some may think Jaz to be "mad" in his perspective, but take it with a grain of salt and know that he is doing/speaking in what he believes in with very little material valuables to his name. I'd love to chat with this man and exchange feedback on what he has chatted about in past interviews regarding humanity and global existence.
+Aimee Candelaria Generally he talks a lot of shite :) he's half good tho :)
As I mentioned, take his perspective with a grain of salt. 👍
@@michellemilarski That's our Jazie as we know and love him lol
Remember he proclaimed that he hated the USA, would never tour there again and hated the people as a whole? One of his newest interviews he's saying the opposite, coinciding with KJ becoming rather popular.
@@youjoker9647Jaz has definitely changed his perspective on many things. And I almost want to say that Paul Raven's passing may have been the catalyst in his perspective of the world and humanity. You can see interviews of Jaz processing Raven's passing and it was a hard hit for him and the band.
Man like Jaz should be in some big fucking position in this world!Only like that he could do more for human race and nature!Great, great words from realy great guy! And,of course, wonderful band!!!
'I come from an academic family but I'm not an academic', no he ain't, he's much much better than that, he can apply his great knowledge & compassionate understanding to people & the frail existence of the planet we are stomping all over. Really glad I found this interview. Brilliant & lovely strong force of a man. No wonder he's fronting such a powerhouse like Killing Joke.
The man has embraced the God-consciousness. We, I mean humanity, have that ability. For real. He is one of the rare beasts who embrace everything and have a passion for making the world a better place.
RetroGaming79 beautifully put my friend.
thank you for this interview, i love Killing joke and Jaz is one of the coolest guys on the planet.
Jaz is a good dude. He spits the truth. Look at what he said about the piece of shit Bono. Always loved this guy and Killing Joke. RIP Paul Raven, and thank you for being upright and intelligent, Jaz.
Always ahead of his time, musically and humility.
Killing Joke are One of the greats!
I am ashamed to say I just discovered Killing Joke recently. Jaz is very big brained and expressed many of the sentiments that I have felt. When you get older you feel like new thrills are hard to come by. This band sparked something in me.
EthericWizard Same here. I can’t believe it took me 38 years to discover. Obsessed with Hosannas right now.
Jaz has a brain like a washing machine and always has had. So many thoughts and theories all rushing around, it must be tiring. I got into the Joke 79 ish and saw them several times in and around London. My mate Ralph (RIP) was Youth's roadie early days. The band messed with some scary substances and more than dabbled in the occult. So glad to see Paul, Jazz and Geordie still rocking the 'Joke' and Youth is a sweet heart.
I'm so glad that Jas Coleman and Killing Joke exist.
the leader of arguably the world's most influential band; pauper; non-conformist extraordinaire, and still with a mind to put a stop to the world's ills. he describes himself as stuck in the wrong century, but the irony is that his heart is way in the future. bless Jaz. he sees a bigger picture, a paradise beyond the struggles, and organisations like the UN needs voices like his.
Definitely agree here! Jaz is a sort of modern day prophet! Just about everything he says in his interviews is truth and he's going out on a very dangerous limb by calling out these elites by name! He's definitely a revolutionary for the human spirit and spirituality!
Jaz is an amazing singer.
I think that's his weakest point of his musical skills!
I think that's his weakest point of his musical skills!
He is an inspiration to me, clear and precise, thought provoking, what a guy, I have been a KJ fan since 1980 best band I ever followed, never found anything like them since, but I don't really want to. don't need to, they are enough... for now.
Me too.
Yes I agree. I also find New Model Army a less intense but similar band to feel the same way about
I'mm 58 and he STILL makes fucking sense to me, always has done.
I would love to see jaz Coleman and David Icke do a live show together!!!? How good would that be??? Fucking brilliant!!!
An all day event would be amazing. Icke used to talk for 10 hours, but doesn't do it now. Each of them could talk for 5 hours. And then a couple of hours of KJ!
I never thought of that... Coleman and Icke....genius!
Absolutely!!! Talking views with the (blues icon) David icke ❤
@@paulsenkans3401book the venue!! Whoever can
He thinks on his feet, articulate, and personable. Legend.
Grande nível. Saudações de Gaia, Porto, Portugal! abraço
Wow, powerful interview! Gave such a great insight to the sound and thoughts behind the new album.
Love him! We need people and characters like him
Seeing this interview I realise that Jazz Coleman and Killing Joke still express the feeling and the view I have and had on life, from the '80- on. Its so good to know that there are common spirits in this world.
shhhhh.......don't tell Jaz but I'm watching and listening to this on the er........computer!
Beautiful
Great interview
The man knows what's going on. Very Refreshing
This interview has made my day. Jaz is saying everything I secretly think while at work
Remind him of the rehearsal sessions with my band in Northlands Club, Cheltenham, before being famous.
Captivating to listen to him. Took a birdwalk to this after listening to Absolute Dissent because, well it's now.
Absolute Dissent, MMXII and Pylon only become more relevant globally.
He seems so...nice! He's such an angry and intense songwriter and performer (and has such a history of actual disturbed behavior) that I kind of expected him to be surly or unpleasant in an interview.
Great, now I like him and KJ even better!
Haha, following them since 1982, first Gathering in Vienna 1984, met Big Paul Gentleman af and finally Jaz last year. My religion and truth! They were so supporting and confirming, educated us so well
So using your logic... a show of nastiness is a positive thing, not a sign of being anti-social or insane?
@@heavymetalrybakina I can't tell if you're responding to me here, but if so, that was literally the opposite of the point I was making.
Jaz is absolutely understands the world, and speaks the truth. A Poet, Genius, and Prophet.
Geordie is god and Jaz his prophet
Jaz Coleman is full of shit.
Wow. I was a huge fan of Killing Joke in the 80s, & one of my favourite gig memories is of seeing them play at the PoW in Melbourne, Australia, back in the late 80s.
It was in 1985. Brilliant gig
Great interview thanks.
qwotE" Killing Joke was my university "...wish I had that kind too....
The songs and the videos very surrealist for some moments, is the thematic of this band and this one of the best from the 80's. Cool 👍🏻
Jaz Coleman it's a God and Killing Joke are the most underestimated but talented band of all time...So many amazing cutting edge albums that many bands try to emulate. The Death and Resurrection Show still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up after all these years ...
Wow awesome guy!
Thank you for your voice Jazz.
I have been a huge fan of Killing Joke since 13.... 40 years ago... never knew the band members back in the day and now i find this interview which is FUCKING OFF THE CHARTS.... LOVE this man... he will love my work www.awarriorcalls.com love to do an interview with Mike.... i'm a past recording engineer/produceer/artist/ drummer and piano player.... i am truly blown away by this interview to see and show the world a man who KNOWS HIS SHIT and speaks the truth! MUCH LOVE... AMAZING INTERVIEW!!!
Great talk!
Jaz is the chaotic philosophical vox populi who makes much prophetic environmental sense. His genuine articulately ecological & humanitarian concerns suggests when hes not writing chaotically catchy industrial metal songs he'd make an ideal TED talker to enlighten the masses with his bluntly profound existential wisdom...
The world would be a much better place if people like Jazz Coleman, John Lydon, Were in charge of things.
These are the only people who are telling the truth and have the common sense view to move Mankind forward.
Don't know if this was an interview or a monologue by Mr. Jaz (with a "z" please), i think there was only one question! Anyway is pretty good. Words of an interesting and intense man fronting an amazing band: Killing Joke.
eye think the right man did most of the talking here.
Probably within the Top 5 of all time
“I’m not an academic”… then starts talking about really high end academic stuff. Gotta love Jas Coleman!
…and, of course, everything he said was on cue with exactly what has been going on for the last two or three years…
Kudos to mr Mike James too... we want at least a Jaz interview every year. totally serious here.
Was it Jaz Coleman that influenced my thinking , all I know is we're so on the same page and that 30yrs down the track . I've never heard Jas speak before and he's impressive , which I sort of expected .
Jaz Coleman is a cool guy!
great interview with Jaz saying his thing,.. ok Im moving to your Island tomorrow
Shit I dont know weather or not to be dissapointed in my self for never really listening more to Killing joke or feel good that im just getting more into them now cos Jas seems to be intriguing and has a lot to say which makes sense to me and now I have something to binge on all day :D.. Millenium is so far my fave song. 13:32 LMAO!!!..
download their entire discography, stick it on random. disappointment away.
buy the really good ones. go see them live. feel good.
May the Gods always bless you Jaz x
can't wait for the Liverpool gig
Jaz put me in mind of Joe Strummer a few times there, 2 amazing guys 👍👍👍👍
Fascinating, nice one
I disagree with his general world view but admire his stance on population unquestionably, population control and its obsessional topics has been the preoccupation of many tyrannies.
such a real man-Mr Killing Joke !
Jaz Coleman Brilliant Man!
So intelligent, educated and verbose.. The geezers so Alpha its painful...
Killing Joke will be in Denver, CO in February, 2016. That's in the states, laddies.
Tour has been cancelled
jaz talks like i think . killing jokes music is honest and powerfull.
ill always love killing joke everything about them their music felt like it took over my body meow x
Thumps up for mr.Coleman
Reality is the "Killing Joke". I loved listening to this bloke.
In my "heart of hearts" I agree with most of what Jaz said.
One of my FAV 80's band..Great lyrics and nicely song..
Rediscovery of English rhytm, the ancestral pulse... listening and transforming language with intuition of a punk-shaman. Not a poet, just poetry in motion.
He made a huge point there: the church destroyed our rhythm. This man is a pagan and a rare lover of Mother Earth. This is a man with DEEP INSIGHT. He should rule the UK. Jaz for Prime Minister! I am not even joking.Very DEEP.
Agreed 100% - this was the most eloquent, concise way I´ve ever heard anybody express the insanity that Christianity brought us, european pagans - ´Destroyed our Rhythm` - seriously, what more is there to say ?
@Delhi Delirium Stupid Gmail didn't give me your response. Yes, I agree.
@@Emulous79 I know , ´Stupid Gmail` tends to do the same to me, selectively so , and I´m further from some conspiracy nutter ... coincidence ?
I don't believe in conciences. It is written.
Power of 11: Could you upvote this, please: ua-cam.com/video/vLQ47jhluL0/v-deo.html
Love Killing Joke, particularly their first run of brilliant art punk/post-punk albums, but I hadn’t heard Jaz talk, or known the band outside of their music.. Does Jaz have any essays, books, lectures, etc, where he gets more into his ideas about humanity, philosophy, politics, etc? I’d love to get deeper into his thoughts. From the sounds of it, I think I share many of his perspectives, but I’m a bit unsure about some things he was less clear about. Anyone who knows if there’s any literature/lectures/etc from him, I’d appreciate suggestions! 🙏♾🏴❤️
I am the Virus: Covid 19
My mind was blown when i heard that song for the first time the other day. He predicted it.
Check out The Great Cull from them. That song will blow your mind as well
What an interesting guy.
Smashing interview that - thanks for uploading.
Still a top band. Thanks for years of good music. Loved you guys since the early 80s, and the best real music.
Love from South Africa.
One question... Jazz goes, and the interviewer lets him go. Wonderful.
I love this man.
Excelente...
This man has more common sense than this whole generation of politicians. Of course, if the politicians would see the man on a stage with KJ they would think otherwise 😄
He was asked to join politics but refused.
I consider him a Genius. he mentioned new zealand, im in nz, Jaz lived in waiheke island, from memory
Thought it was Great Barrier Island?
Real Legend
Amazing. simply amazing
Jaz, I love how realistic you are! Please, be the president of the world!
How can someone who wrote about such dark things be such a nice bloke..
Jaz is like David Ickie but with less reptile people.
14:04 my man gargles some water and spits it back into the glass lmao
This interview is not what I expected. I thought their would be chatter about the band and recent projects.
Instead, the interview pretty much didn’t have to say or ask anything. He just received a long discussion/ lecture on the state of the world.
KJ should do another album right now. The world is catching up to their dire projections.
I'd like to see Jaz interviewed by Steve Jones on his Jonesy's jukebox show
Coleman is quite brilliant regarding his views on religion, globalism, the downfall of human empathy and how the world powers REALLY operate and control in the background . I predict he will be cited by many long after he's gone. I bet he's a Bernie fan.
You sir, are obviously a knowledgeable person.
