I think the plastic on the CK clothes was a reference to the plastic that can be found in the ocean and from images I've seen of sea animals with plastic around their necks.
Producing more plastic stuff seems like a crappy way of making that point.

I’m not surprised by Dior anymore. In their Pre-Fall 2017 collection they did the same with traditional Romanian outfits from a place called Bihor, where they literally just ripped off the designs - same patterns, same materials, the only difference was that the price was super inflated.
They need to stop ripping off traditional clothing, or at least give credit/proceeds to the community, honestly they could even just hire them to work on the designs for them and people would be less angry. It’s about respecting the culture and traditions and big brands just don’t seem to get that.
