These days, the IT industry seems to be in full swing, as I am observing hundreds of jobs being uploaded on a daily basis. One just has to be confident in their skills, and anyone can secure a decent job nowadays. It doesn't matter whether you are a degree holder or a self-learner; what truly matters are your skills. While some jobs may have a basic degree requirement, it's not a problem - simply apply and prove yourself during the interview.
As far selecting a back end depends on the requirement and nature of the project. for example if there is alot of scripting and automation i will go with python and if your system is a simple web app that provide APIs to third party systems then i will go with laravel, as API creation is relatively easy in laravel as compared to django.but there is no hard and fast rule in selecting tech stack you can go with either according to your preferences.
