What do you recommend for Livestreaming, singing and for recording vocals?
The K658 foam does come off from the ring around it. You need to turn it to the left to remove it.

According to their website, the K658 had better noise rejection. K688 has a longer base by about an inch

Not at all! Just normalized the audio. :)
TBH the reason why i wanted more the k658 is that for me it looks better but if it just had a xlr too. Now i have my doubts.

Tanto o am8 quanto o 688 atende bem, ainda mais com a função mute em touch, que facilita a comunicação (porém vc consegue aplicar um macro no teclado para mutar Mic) eu optei por comprar o maono pd200x pela qualidade de áudio/modificação e ser 24 bits

The K688 was released 1 month after I bought my K658, sad.. It's still serving me well tho, for casual usage like gaming and discord calls with friends!
I wouldn't worry about it. :) The K658's sound quality and features would've cost like $240 in the 2010s! Still a great value mic for the price.

Hi! "Best" really varies from person to person. If you have good sound treatment, the Fifine A8 is my top pick right now. If you don't have good sound treatment, the Fifine K688 would be next.
Are there any sound differences when it's plugged as usb microphones and using with an interface?
Also, where to cop this k688 in the Philippines, can't find it in any local online stores. 😴
There will absolutely be differences. :) The higher the quality of the preamp in the audio interface, the better the audio. The USB version uses the preamps inside the mic itself.
It's kind of like this: a dedicated camera will always have better image quality than a phone, which happens to be a camera.
Usb mics have less powerful preamps crammed into them compared to their audio interface counterparts.

K688 Obviously, but i already buy the AM8 because in my opinion and after watching all videos about AM8 vs K688, AM8 is better

@@CRICKETNEWSMAZZATo be honest, I am not familiar with the Indian market. The mic stand I got the K688 was roughly $1 and is made of cheap plastic, from a Philippine equivalent of Amazon. Perhaps there are equivalents in your market!

bud will you also compare with AM8 and k688 ? I talked with customer care and they replied me as Capsule in k688 is more improved than am8... As you also mentioned.... K688 gray foam filter has also plosive issues..... but Because of you already have shure sm7b ..... Could you try to plug Sm7b foam onto k688 ??? Many videos I watched this is the solution
Thanks for leaving a comment! Yes, this comparison is in the pipeline! :) Ah, so the K688 capsule is supposed to be better than the newer AM8’s? I’ll look into that… As for the SM7b foam, last I checked they were incompatible, but I’ll test again and let you know. Just know that even the default SM7b foam isn’t immune to plosives. The big fat SM7b foam is more resistant to them, but can make audio sound muffly. Great mic technique will go a long way!

The Maono PD200x is pretty good for that! Since its self-noise is low, you can keep it quite far, and boost your volume without introducing more noise.

Hi there! Just got mine through Lazada via the official Fifine store. Haven’t seen it in brick and mortar stores.
@@DaveSoltura I see. Thanks. JG superstore (on lazada and shopee) sold these for less than 2.7k. Been on my cart, I waited for the next promo cycle. When the day came, it's all gone. Months after, it's still out of stock. Only option now is the official store at 4.4k. Geez, I guess I'll bite.
@@NatJulianBelza If it makes you feel any better, we used to have to pay 3-4x as much to get microphones of the same quality. :) Plus buying from the official store at full price instills confidence. Hope you enjoy yours! Heads up you'll need a new USB 3.0 cable to make the USB feature work.

@@NatJulianBelza It does come with one, but it's either defective or likely a 2.0 cable. Dark Corner studios and other channels do talk about the defective cable that comes with it. After using a 3.0 cable (from one of my portable hard drives), it began working flawlessly. It's a hassle, but I think the added cost is still worth it to use this mic.
Hey man, nice review but I wonder why you got two of the 688 with defective USB c when a lot of other UA-camrs has a perfectly normal USB c mic maybe you are buying from Bad reseller
Thanks for the comment! :) It was from the official Fifine store via Lazada. The solution is to buy a USB 3.0 cable, which solves the USB problem. The included cable isn’t good enough. Dark Corner Studios had the same situation when they reviewed the mic, so the store I got it from is not an outlier.

You could try searching USB 3.0 type C on your preferred online shopping store. They would usually spell out that they're USB 3.0.

Haven’t done a test on that, but they should be negligibly close. Can’t go wrong with either!
Dynamic mics don't sound as good as Condenser Mics.
