I think the zords missions are so poorly done. No life ups, falling in a pit takes a life away when ranger gameplay doesn't, if you die during a boss fight you have to redo the boss fight rather than spawn into it in solo mode. Theirs an item drop in the Dragonzord boss fight called shield that doesn't seem to do anything. MISSILES suck against boss's damage wise. It demands perfection for a mini game. Don't get me started on how bad online is.
I wish they skipped the rail shooter and went straight to the megazord, where it felt like playing super punch out. I liked super punch out even though that game was hard.
I don't know if I'm alone here, but I really wish that we could have also played as the Power Rangers without their power suits. That was a big part of the show, the build of watching them do what they can without the aid of their suits and then only going into morphing mode when things got too much to handle on their own
@@Laughy-Flaaffyyou're asking the right question. Since there's very little to NO difference with their fighting styles with the suits, then the devs figured why bother.
I wanted to love this game. But the fighting is SO STIFF and you are open to so many cheap shots that it starts to lose its charm. The developers REALLY needed to play TMNT Shredder’s Revenge for comparison
TMNT Shredder's Revenge and Streets of Rage 4 both launched at $25 and are way better Beat Em Ups than this. $35 is too much. I don't think it's bad, it's just not nearly as good as the 2 games I mentioned but it's better than recent ones like GI Joe and Karate Kid. Those are BAD.
$27 now. Vid is terrible 4:00 and I see an update the description doesn’t refer to, which at least say launch build to not trick people. Fun, varied gameplay. Characters are a bit similar. Also 3 arcade games.
The boss battles are too tough for 1 player on their own and only having 3 lives isn't fair. I landed up putting a 2nd controller on as a guest to get extra lives. I'm stuck on dragonzord now.
Yeah man, I feel you. I’m currently playing the game on easyjust because the game gives you unlimited continues and I also use Kimberly specifically for the boss battles considering she can fly over most obstacles.I know that’s kind of cheesy but it’s better than throwing my controller at the wall I wish they had checkpoints at the beginning of every boss fight so you can just go back to that part instead of having to do the entire level all over again.
@@thecapableplanet7885 Good idea re Kimberly. I'll try that when I next play. I thought unlimited continues would mean unlimited lives. Like an arcade machine on free play.
Yeah that dragonzord fight pissed me off. After several attempts I finally beat him. You gotta grab those power ups. The main attack you need to watch out for is the dragonzord laser. I did it with the tyrannosaurus zord.
It's not awful or even bad. It's just underwhelming, especially for $35. The likes of Shredder's Revenge, River City Girls 2, and Streets of Rage 4 were also really tough acts to follow. That said, with some tweaking and some additional content, Rita's Rewind can be in the same conversation as the others. EDIT (12/16/24): Console versions are on Version 1.0.3 currently and Version 1.0.8 has been released to the Steam version of the game. Players are reporting that the game is playing better & health items have been added to make the game more forgiving. Per a developer in the Steam Community forum, the update should roll out to the console versions soon.
I can't believe how many youtubers and reviewers sleep on the Genesis (Megadrive) Power Rangers movie tie-in game. It's the best Power Rangers beat'em up that exists and all I ever hear about is that shit SNES game.
Hey, hey, hey...let's pump the brakes there. The SNES MMPR game is great. Is it simplistic: of course; however, the sprites are great, sound design is solid, and the level design is fun. Also, that soundtrack is amazing. Is it a masterpiece, no, but it's still a fun time.
100% i still have it on my megadrive in the attic. It was so great to play 2 player coop they should of took more inspiration from that game but done a modern SOFR4 on it
idk, the power rangers the movie beat em up for the sega genesis was pretty amazing beat em up, plus the game gear games (mmppr and mmpr: the movie) both were great too.
@@EastLaneDonte for sure, i loved the movie one on genesis but the game gear games were something else, and i dont even think its just nostalgia, they were just solid handheld beat em ups. so much fun
I'm not going to lie. Power Rangers Rita's Rewind isn't bad but it's not SOR4 or Shredder's Revenge. Me personally the movement is kind of sluggish. It literally took me a day to get use to the movement but now it's not a problem. I'm not really tripping on the price but I feel like it could have been cheaper for what they gave us. Now if the game was tweaked for smoother movement, more lives, more stages because the game feels short and the difficulty tweaked, I believe we would have a top tier Power Rangers game. Everybody should have a good time playing games but great video. You got my like and sub
A 10/10 game can't be the standard, that's why streets of rage 4 is a better standard because it is the minimum quality expected while shredder's revenge is the pinical unsurpassable limit it can get.
This game if good but not great. Could’ve been great but don’t have enough combos, normal movement speed is too slow and all the rangers play the same. If they fix the movement speed and give them more variety of combos then this would be a great game. The mini games are actually full levels and are fun and cool. The graphics, music and boss battles are great too. They need to patch this and crank up movement speed and air juggle combos. Have a strong attack where the actually use their weapons.
The fact people think shredders revenge is better than streets of rage 4 confirms must gamers are dumb. Shredders revenge is a great game but it aint touching streets of rage 4 at all
The enemy AI **WILL** attack you on the exact frame when your character stands up after being knocked down. I noticed the perfect play AI with the enemies, and it was rather annoying.
This is the attitude that ruins games. These companies are adjusting their prices for dedicated gamers to buy their products and they lose a lot of money on those discounts. If they could sell millions for these games, these companies could do so much more (just thinking of possible DLC). Then companies have to layoff a lot of the workers and plans they may have on added content regardless if it's paid or free because we consumers are too scared to spend money on a game that receives criticism without actual play. I'm sure Rita's Rewind is a stronger release than the past games, but their only problem is that they don't put out demos to let people test the game without relying on influencers swaying their audience (you) from ever buying the game right away. Top Hat is considering the game versus other games, but RR is a serious upgrade to past games and is an original game. The SNES adaptations were, like MMPR to Sentai, a rehashed reengineering of a previous game where the main characters were swapped to include rangers. That's why some of the monsters in the game made no sense. I can't say I won't buy RR. If it's on Series X or PS5, I will buy it, like I bought and barely played DB: Sparking Zero. That's because I support the efforts of the original Power Rangers behind-the-scenes and on-screen and appreciate the history because I grew up on MMPR and its games.
After playing Shredder's Revenge and Double Dragon Gaiden, the most disappointing aspect to me is how choosing a character literally doesn't matter at all...
I hear a lot of people complaining about the price of this game but people are buying new, modern games for $60 or $70 and the majority of them are garbage.
@imabotIRL Then times have changed because back then, people would buy them early and when word got around then people would leave them alone, resulting in the game sales flopping. If that's not the case today then I can't fault the game creators on marketing on the idiot consumers. We'll played for them.
You realize that this is a retro style arcade game, right? It's not supposed to be compared to $60-70 games. It's supposed to be priced like TMNT Shredder's Revenge and Streets of Rage 4. Both were $25 at launch and are way better Beat Em Ups. This is $35 which is too much. Therefore, the complaining is justified.
@ Those other retro style arcade games like SOR4 and Shredder’s Revenge are amazing bargains. That makes this a fair price, by comparison. Sure, buy those first but the price here isn’t unreasonable. The only thing that matters is “Is it worth it”?
Your honesty in review is appreciated, Lord Parliament. I was obsessed with the Power Rangers in the 90's. I still have some of the Mega Zords to this day.
Wish I still had mine! I had all the Zords from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Megazord, Dragonzord, whitetigerzord, Titanus, Tour, Shogunmegazord, Ninjamegazord and in my teen years my Mother binned all of them! Wasteful boomer lol.
Bad boss fight designs, horribly incorrect hit boxes and collision detection. If you attack an enemy once they have started an attack animation and interrupt their attack, they will randomly finish the attack mid stun-lock animation. Boss enemies can start an attack WHILE you're hitting them, which will entirely negate your attack. These are just some of the major issues. It's just badly developed from a game mechanics standpoint. It's incredible how unpolished this game is, and I'm mind boggled as to how this made it to market with the controls/gameplay in such a bad state.
Nah, I disagree with you on the Megazord battles. While the on-rails shooting section can be annoying, the Punch Out segments are actually pretty easy when you just recognize the boss patterns.
The patterns just feel arbitrary. They aren't consistent. I beat them but they took way too long and I barely even know how I did it. And I played on Easy
There was a MMPR game exactly like you're describing that it seems like everyone just forgot about. It came out in 2017 and was called MMPR Mega Battle
@@markwolkotte1415they stopped making it, so you can't buy it anymore. I own that and watching the game play for rewind, it doesn't seem better than mega battle at all.
The game was ok not great. Definitely not worth $35. The megazord battles were pretty annoying. I don't like the way to do anti air attacks is up and attack most of the time it doesn't come out. Really frustrating. I enjoyed the MMPR games on the SNES and Genesis way more.
I think it’s pretty fun, but it’s just got some balancing issues that need to be tweaked. If they patch it and increase character movement speed like they did with streets of rage for and maybe add some extra lives because for some reason you can’t gain extra lives in the level based on points or any kind of power ups that would help with the difficulty. I think maybe a DLC would also add new moves kind of like with streets of rage 4 where everyone got new moves It would really improve the game. The biggest issue is that it just feels unfinished.
You called it Rita's Revenge in the opening lol. I've played it, I think it was pretty decent, but it's really lacking, feels like they watched Season 1 so far and stopped. Mighty Morphin had 3 Seasons and most of it isn't there. It's like a half arsed attempt.
1st season The focus is on the original 6 rangers...they were the most popular by far and made the franchise a success...Jason...Zack and Trini left in season 2
@@PsychoRiderRage I watched once and always, it was fine and this game is a continuation of that plot, but they could’ve done more and had it be a true homage to all of Mighty Morphin. The Boom studios comics understood this… after having that, getting this feels lacklustre.
I agree, I was playing the game and I got about half way into it, when it took a lot of my continues due to the megazord level. I used up my continues, and now I have to create a new file to not only play the game but start all over again.
Dang you told the truth about this game. It's sad to say I had high hopes for this game, I told my friend If he wanted to play it pay maybe 15.00 At max for it, I don't like the idea that you have to quit the game it select a. Character and then the slow combat didn't help. And boss battle being overly drawn out didn't help
There is no 6 player co op currently. It's 2 player online, or 3 player couch co op. Supposedly they are planning on releasing 6 player online co op in a future update
Have you ever played MMPR: The Movie for Genesis? That one was a pretty solid brawler. Watching footage of the first level of this game made me bored and that's a very bad sign. I like the variety in theory but it sounds like the execution is lacking.
Update for Steam. The rangers become faster now. Dodge can be done many many many time without cool down, ranger can now do the upper attack while ground combo, zords stage now has health items pop up here and there, etc.
Ahh man you need to give the MMPR The Movie game on the Mega Drive a go. While it doesn't have the unmorphed rangers everything else you would likely enjoy
I was wondering how this stacked up against the fan-made "Power Rangers: Beats of Power" which was actually pretty awesome ... think i'll stick with that till this goes on sale.
People forget about the Power Rangers The Mega Battles from 2017. Kinda went under the radar because ot was before the Beat em Up renaissance. And everyone always references the SNES games but not the Sega Power Rangers The Movie game which was pretty good beat em up.
Personally I thought the SNES games were really horrible. If you want to play Power Rangers game that was a beat em up back in the day, the Genesis/Megadrive movie game was where it was at.
The first person fighting views were definitely frustrating. Cheap hits and trying to power up the sword was a chore. TMNT Shredder's Revenge and SOR 4 were WAY better, sorry not sorry.
It’s not that hard. Gamers are babies for a game that’s slightly difficult. Same with DBZ Sparking Zero. I heard that game was so hard and it’s actually very easy.
The game is good and the soundtrack is top notch. It's not "that" hard tbh. Most people are just overdramatic about it. If you like the rangers, amd enjoy beat em ups then it's a good fit.
I bought it, and the Zord modes really were frustrating, to the point of just not being very fun. The beatemup stages were fun though, despite the game's flaws. The game doesn't demand replay value though. I just finished and I don't see myself playing it much more unless there's a substantial DLC
@WEKetchum really? The Zord levels, while being a bit more difficult (before the update giving health pick ups) , were still doable no death. It does indeed have (almost) no replay value unless you go for a 100% completion for all collectables and missions and playing higher difficulties. Still great fun (especially with the fixes) and the OST is still a 10/10 for me.
It's been a disapointing year for the beat'em up genre: Night Slashers, Gi Joe Wrath of Cobra, The Karate Kid Street Rumble, now this one... At least we got Vengeance Hunters, a solid game with no nostalgic IP attached.
Also there’s no option to start an online match. You can do a quick match but it starts you from the very beginning every single time and I haven’t invited anyone yet but as far as I can tell you can’t start an online coop game with someone using your saved game. I’m stuck on level 7 or something, one of the Zord levels that I wanted a buddy to help with, but I can’t get someone to get up to level 7 with me
Things they needed to make this game better: 1. Rangers using their weapons 2. Rangers doing co-op attacks 3. Rangers combining their weapons at the end of the fight. 4. More bosses imo
It was an awesome nostalgia trip, that was absolutely not worth the $30 US I spent on it. When Shredder's Revenge has cost me less even after buying all the DLC, and is an objectively better game, it's just disappointing. Power Rangers Rita's Rewind is proof that one should hype responsibly
It's not awful but definitely needs some tweaking lol Me and my friend were enjoying it but they really need to fix Those sluggish controls, It feels like you're moving through mud Which is interesting because the turtles game didn't control like that
It has its issues and its flaws, but I am actually having fun with it, the solo zord missions are a lil clunky & not really needed, but I do like the Megazord battle sequences, I honestly would have loved this game as 10 year old me and play this constantly, its just 30 years too late, and it may be nostalgia calling, but I do like it, its not perfect, but I am having a good time, def not worth $30 though.
It’s damn near 2025 and beat em up games must offer more than nostalgia and cheap mini games.Streets Of Rage 4 and River City Girls are the standard by which I judge all beat em up games by and this is slightly better than Slaps And Beans which is embarrassing!Power Rangers deserved better than this!
@@smellywaffels1967Shredders revenge is an elite game in this great genre and what hurts the most is that this game copied the style of that game but failed miserably in the combat department…I mean each ranger not having their own unique moves/combos and the zords and magazord not being playable outside mini games is absolutely lazy and disgusting! We as players and the Power Rangers deserved a straight clone of Shredders Revenge instead of this wannabe disgrace.
I should have been able to do a no death run on easy mode but I couldn't. I definitely wanted to like it but it is lacking. I do hope they can polish it up to be much better game. As of right now I bought it on PS5 and can't play more than Rangers online. That's ridiculous in gaming now.
It's been a disapointing year for beat'em ups, Night Slashers, The Karate Kid Street Rumble, that GI Joe and now this... Vengeance Hunters it's one exception.
Yes, the gameplay is the flaw, the zords take damage like they were made of paper, even bosses can 2 shot you(eye guy). The rangers have no different skills to even inspire players to choose different ones aside from pink in the zord stages wich can say eff of to pretty much all the stage. the fighting is a little stiff, but what annoys me is that you can't cancel combos, almost all enemies have a knock out attack, literally making you a rag doll for an entire fight until, im looking at that ghost lady boss fight who literally can juggle you like nothing. The game is to short tbh, for the price, i expected an big amount of missions and bosses, but its ok and can be enjoyed, specially in multiplayer, but the fighting needs to be fixed.
On the Megazord fights, you’re supposed to alternate between both punches very quickly. Like button mash right left right left whenever you’re up close. Did the game not explain this? I saw the devs talk about it which is why I know.
The pixel graphics are badass!!! The game play is just bad ......😢 So disappointed, this is the game I was waiting for, and the SNES is still way better, like WTF!? Even the DS title was very fun, learning new fighting moves and combos, it was frigging fun!!! This game lacks hard on the controls........hope they can patch this bad boy, that would be awesome 😎👍
I struggled the same with Robo Rita's green energy ball. It's not so bad once you get to the roof and have to uppercut the green energy ball, but trying to hit it when it's perfectly horizontal still inside the palace is an absolute nightmare, as counter-intuitive as you think that would be. I actually didn't mind the Megazord sections so much. They feel weighty and the feedback is good. They are a little too drawn out though when the boss is spamming ranged attacks at you. The excellent music in these sections helped. Would have liked a proper full model animation to play on Power Sword execution though, like the Megazord forming one, aswell as the Dino Megazord being swapped for Dragonzord Fighting Mode if you were playing as Green Ranger. It's still only the Game Gear version of the game you can truly play as that zord formation in, even now, three decades on. I also didn't mind the Bike levels for the most part. They played relatively well enough, except for the 1HKOs all over the place in the final one. The (individual) zord levels though. Yeah, they suck. It's exactly what you say. Like Space Harrier, without the fun. So many of the mechanics and checkpoints in them feel frustrating and under-baked, with way to many cheap mechanics, nd the zord control is too floaty. Funnily enough, they play alot better if you're playing as Pink Ranger. Because she's the only one with a zord that has true flight, actually letting you play it like Space Harrier; And unironically meaning she has the strongest zord. I really would have just preferred these zord levels were handled the same way they are in Power Rangers The Movie on the Mega Drive. Identical to the Ranger levels, but with the zords as playable characters rather than the Rangers. Don't fix what isn't broken. Technically you can play as the Rangers unmorphed, in the Juice Bar, but there's no real gameplay with them. I agree, total missed opportunity to add some depth to the Beat 'em Up levels. At least the Ranger suits themselves _aren't_ just a palette swap in this, as they are in the original SNES version. They may all play the same, but at least Pink Ranger doesn't look like she's on steroids when she morphs 🤣. There is some differences between them here, but they are minor. Most noticeable with the downward stomp attack, the rising attack, and the weapon attack at the end of the combo chain. Definitely should have been more though. It's mad that you can't shoot with the Power Bow or the Power Axe's Cannon. Ever. I feel like the weapons should have been incorporated into the super moves (similar to the recent TMNT game) rather than them being screen-wide nukes ala SoR1. Agree the game isn't worth the money, but as a Power Rangers super fan, at least I still had fun with it. It's good enough for that, if overpriced. Couldn't recommended it in good conscience to non-Ranger fans whom like Beat 'em Ups, not while games like SoR4 or TMNT Shreddar's Revenge are out there. Only if they've already played all those, would I then recommend this. I've certainly played worse. Don't get me started on the difficulty settings and getting locked out your save file. Why can't I have full strength enemies, but infinite continues? Why does it have to be weak enemies, if I want infinite continues, and only 3 continues, if I want strong enemies? These two elements need to be separated and set individually, not tied together. That's all I'll say on that for now.
Good thing I wasn't really planning on checking this one out anyway, though it is surprisingly to see it incorporates elements from SNES Goemon games that Westerners never saw back in the day.
Needs DLC for sure to add more to the gameplay and the run time of the game to make it feel like an adventure to get to the goal rather than just fighting in the suits. I really liked the roller coaster section. Needs more variety like that as well. Like a shooting gallery where you’re shorting putties besides the cowboys and bottles. Like, in Bully but way crazier. A chase section where you’re getting pursued by the villains while trying to rescue hostages. My only gripe about gameplay is when you get ganged up by 2 putties and you have to fight your way out of it. It’s a bit of a drag.
Yeah them dropping the ball with online play was definitely a huge negative for me. Absolutely no reason why any game made today to have lackluster online features. This is a very noticeable downgrade compared to TMNT Shedders Revenge.
I hate beat em ups that take hit bars away from enemies to give them a chance to attack back... That's called turn based strategy, and flies in the face of beat em ups. Every boss in this game has a power move that requires them be totally invulnerable... Lame. Get rid of the moves or the combo counter, you can't have both. Too counter intuitive. The megazord fights are really awful as well. I didn't want to play in the first person, way to ruin that ad well. The lack of the white ranger is also disappointing. I'm the one who liked the jasonless team.
Even though I wouldn't consider this game "awful". The $35 price tag for a 4 hour game is what really bothered me. The game was "ok" but nowhere near something over 30 dollars. I'd still feel iffy if I payed $20 for it. Not an awful game...but there's plenty to be frustrated about to keep me from ever loving it. I say grab it when it inevitably goes on sale for half price in just a month or 2.
Top Hat Gaming Man is correct. Rita Rewind is missing a lot. As THGM stated you cannot fight in without in human form. The player should have the option of fighting with all of the Ranger's weapons without using the screen clearing supermove (ie the blade blasters & power weapons). There are no team up attacks. The Rangers should have attributes. For example Jason and Tommy are strong, and Kimberly and Trini are faster. DLC should have been the Alien Rangers and more stages. The teams that made Shredder's Revenge or Streets of Rage 4 should have been given the job to make a Power Ragers beat'em up.
couldn't have put it better, i regret just how much i was looking forward to this (snagged a 20% discount on pre-order to boot). I've played maybe twice and hated it both times, that said me and the mrs have just done river city girls so maybe not a fair comparison lol
ended up refunding this game for the same reasons. I do eventually plan to pick it up again once they patch it and more importantly when its on a heavy sale
I’m happy to report that the first patch for this game was just released, and it rectifies some of the issues mentioned here. There are actual health powerups on the zord levels now, and the combat feels a bit less clunky. Shredders Revenge is still better, but this a step in the right direction. Hopefully there are more patches and dlc to come.
I still say the best Power Rangers game is Chroma Squad. It's been ages but if I remember correctly, it was going to be a Power Rangers game but couldn't get the license for it. If you haven't already, give Chroma Squad a play.

Tekken 8 is overrated to the extreme. 21:10 Not exatcly.
0:44 I bet to differ. Power Rangers Battle for the Grid was VERY good.
Yeah i enjoyed this game alot despite not being a fighting game gamer. Oddly enough i enjoyed power rangers the movie beat em up more than this one.
Indeed, it was. Even non-Power Ranger fans had a great time with that game.
@@danielclark241 I wanna play Beats of Power. Too bad I don't have a PC
@@mikeestill1672 Beats of Power is good too! As soon as you're able to, I'd say give it a go. Very well worth it.
@@danielclark241agreed I feel it’s the turtles in time of power rangers.
Not to mention, graphics wise, why are the Zords so small compared to the monsters, like they're remote controlled toys?
Those zord elements look really really sorry
@@Darkjedi it's the wrong power rangers season to have a rail shooter element, it might have been cool in power rangers in space though.
Power Rangers The Movie game was the best Power Rangers game. You could use a bunch of Zords and the action/ character variation was top tier
The genesis version was great while the snes version had a banger soundtrack, it was watered version of the previous snes beat em up entry
@hush8469 yeah the movie game was their redemption arc for sure but those are still some of the best Power Ranger games in the whole series fr
I don't know if I'm alone here, but I really wish that we could have also played as the Power Rangers without their power suits. That was a big part of the show, the build of watching them do what they can without the aid of their suits and then only going into morphing mode when things got too much to handle on their own
Yeah, especially when they literally made sprites of them unmorphed
But what would they even do? Would they fight the same as them with suits on?
@@Laughy-Flaaffy Probably, just without the aid of their weapons and would do slightly less damage with their attacks and stuff.
Playing a bad Game won't make yours better, play the original and you will understand how mediocre the other was.
Those are BAD.
yea. i bought gi joe on launch day. played it until I beat the first boss...and was like na, im good
The pre-order price was around the same as TMNT:SR, and SOR4
Use Kimberly to fight the dragonzord easiest way to get through the level.
@don_leo94 Yeah to avoid the laser
It's not awful or even bad. It's just underwhelming, especially for $35. The likes of Shredder's Revenge, River City Girls 2, and Streets of Rage 4 were also really tough acts to follow.
That said, with some tweaking and some additional content, Rita's Rewind can be in the same conversation as the others.

I agree it's my favorite one
Hey, hey, hey...let's pump the brakes there. The SNES MMPR game is great. Is it simplistic: of course; however, the sprites are great, sound design is solid, and the level design is fun. Also, that soundtrack is amazing. Is it a masterpiece, no, but it's still a fun time.
The problem is they compare those games to modern games I saw one dude complaining about combos fps music and difficulty

Shredders Revenge is the standard. The game is a 10/10
This looks fun but looks like it tries too much. Once it’s on a heavy discount, I’ll get it.
Agreed. Shredder’s Revenge is by far the best.
A 10/10 game can't be the standard, that's why streets of rage 4 is a better standard because it is the minimum quality expected while shredder's revenge is the pinical unsurpassable limit it can get.
@ correct 🫡

14.99-19.99 fair. 35 bucks? I'll wait for a flash sale.
What’s baffling to me is how Digital Eclipse fumbled this.
8:21 “and Zack incorporates stylish rhythmic moves because he’s.. BLACK” I was expecting you to say, “because he’s a dancer,” but that works too 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Zack was always like that.
I was just about to point out the same thing. I almost spit out my coffee in laughter. 😅😅
Cuts to the scene in MMPR where they have cultural day at school and Zack brings fried chicken
After playing Shredder's Revenge and Double Dragon Gaiden, the most disappointing aspect to me is how choosing a character literally doesn't matter at all...
thank you so much for reminding me why to NEVER BUY GAMES WHEN THEY COME OUT DAY 1!
No joke about that 😂 it maybe super broken. I always wait too. My god, I stop pre-ordering around 2012
I hear a lot of people complaining about the price of this game but people are buying new, modern games for $60 or $70 and the majority of them are garbage.
If word gets out about how garbage 🗑 they are, nobody will buy them.
@imabotIRL
Then times have changed because back then, people would buy them early and when word got around then people would leave them alone, resulting in the game sales flopping.
That doesnt make a 40 dollar garbage game any better. Please shut up
100% Honest review. Idk why people are disliking the video.
I wish I'd seen this before I bought it. Was just as disappointed. Favorite Power Rangers game is still MMPR: The Movie on Sega Genesis.
It also helps that you can't die in those sections either.
I wished the mini cut to the Rangers waving theor hands away from every hit was removed 😂
@@jeremyhall2727 Agreed. That is annoying. Especially if you're playing co-op with a friend.
The patterns just feel arbitrary. They aren't consistent. I beat them but they took way too long and I barely even know how I did it. And I played on Easy
@@WEKetchum I've had the opposite effect. The most I spend on the Megazord battles on Easy is less than a minute.
I think they should have just left it a side scroller beat'em up, and give each ranger unique fighting techniques. Also had longer and more levels.
There was a MMPR game exactly like you're describing that it seems like everyone just forgot about. It came out in 2017 and was called MMPR Mega Battle
@Matt_Bright_1983 honestly didn't even know about it. Thanks, I'll have to look for it.
Gameplay is slow and clunky. This wants to be Shredder but misses the mark.
Agree 💯
I hope these get fixed in an update
You called it Rita's Revenge in the opening lol. I've played it, I think it was pretty decent, but it's really lacking, feels like they watched Season 1 so far and stopped. Mighty Morphin had 3 Seasons and most of it isn't there. It's like a half arsed attempt.

@@PsychoRiderRage I watched once and always, it was fine and this game is a continuation of that plot, but they could’ve done more and had it be a true homage to all of Mighty Morphin. The Boom studios comics understood this… after having that, getting this feels lacklustre.

This game would have been so much better if the people who did shredder's revenge and streets of rage 4 Had done it
@TopHatGamingMan- Thankyou for your honesty about this game because I thought I was the only one who thought this game kinda sucked.
My only issue is when you unlock green you don't get the dragon megazord
I almost still wanna get it, but those extra hard zord modes make me feel frustrated before even playing it. It looked so cool too
It’s not that hard.
Looks like Chroma Squad remains undefeated as the best Power Rangers game on the market.
I’m stuck on level 7 or something, one of the Zord levels that I wanted a buddy to help with, but I can’t get someone to get up to level 7 with me
From what you shown of the zord battles. That HUGELY reminds me on the robot Impact from goemon 64
Things they needed to make this game better:
1. Rangers using their weapons
2. Rangers doing co-op attacks
3. Rangers combining their weapons at the end of the fight.
4. More bosses imo
Yea I have to agree, they could’ve done so much better. The blueprint for a great side scrolling beat’em up was there.
Best power rangers game is power rangers the movie for Sega Genesis
It was an awesome nostalgia trip, that was absolutely not worth the $30 US I spent on it. When Shredder's Revenge has cost me less even after buying all the DLC, and is an objectively better game, it's just disappointing. Power Rangers Rita's Rewind is proof that one should hype responsibly
It's not awful but definitely needs some tweaking lol Me and my friend were enjoying it but they really need to fix Those sluggish controls, It feels like you're moving through mud Which is interesting because the turtles game didn't control like that
Playing this game just made me want to play Shredder's Revenge again.

The game is to short tbh, for the price, i expected an big amount of missions and bosses, but its ok and can be enjoyed, specially in multiplayer, but the fighting needs to be fixed.
the opening level music for the very first Power Rangers game on SNES is the ultimate 90s banger!! i still listen to it
On the Megazord fights, you’re supposed to alternate between both punches very quickly. Like button mash right left right left whenever you’re up close.
Did the game not explain this? I saw the devs talk about it which is why I know.
I think a lot of people sleep on Power Rangers Mega Battle and the Movie Game on Genesis
The game looks garbage and this is the only video i found that is showing how terrible it is. cheers mate
Agree game is awful
I salute your patience for finishing the game.
Sad to hear Rita's Rewind is worse than the SNES classic MMPR game.
This is a very noticeable downgrade compared to TMNT Shedders Revenge.
online play is coming
Humans, aliens, reptilians and a.i… power rangers is a whole ass conspiracy theory
So 😅 power Rangers are telling the truth 🤷🏾♀️ lol
I hate beat em ups that take hit bars away from enemies to give them a chance to attack back... That's called turn based strategy, and flies in the face of beat em ups. Every boss in this game has a power move that requires them be totally invulnerable... Lame. Get rid of the moves or the combo counter, you can't have both. Too counter intuitive. The megazord fights are really awful as well. I didn't want to play in the first person, way to ruin that ad well. The lack of the white ranger is also disappointing. I'm the one who liked the jasonless team.
Stupid game developers hope they get fired for this crap
Even though I wouldn't consider this game "awful". The $35 price tag for a 4 hour game is what really bothered me.
The game was "ok" but nowhere near something over 30 dollars. I'd still feel iffy if I payed $20 for it.
Not an awful game...but there's plenty to be frustrated about to keep me from ever loving it. I say grab it when it inevitably goes on sale for half price in just a month or 2.
Top Hat, you forgot about the SNES movie tie in game, which was a vast improvement over the first SNES game
I’m glad I watched your video before I brought this game. Good video bro. I just hope the angry video game nerd doesn’t go ballistic on this game.
ended up refunding this game for the same reasons.
Agree with everything you said, I have a new video coming out on it tomorrow.
i was annoyed at the first zored gameplay
Hopefully we'll get some patches will help get this game through the rough patches.
Oh, that's sad. This game looks good in the video.
Then play it...Just because someone else hated it; then doesn't mean you will too.
The Power Rangers the movie the game for Sega Genesis was better than the super Nintendo version u keep referring to
I still say the best Power Rangers game is Chroma Squad. It's been ages but if I remember correctly, it was going to be a Power Rangers game but couldn't get the license for it. If you haven't already, give Chroma Squad a play.
They didn't even release 5-6 players online co-op. . .
