Indeed people won't care about how much data you have shown but they will remember whether you have told a good story. Very inspiring video. Thank you Andy!
never comment on videos, but as a postgrad student with subpar presentation skills preparing my research proposal, I found your 'follow a story structure' & 'repetition of the main concepts' ideas to be fantastic advice. A lightbulb moment for me, so thank you for sharing!
Great tips Andy! I would love a video on how to maximize your experience at conferences. How to plan, how to network, how to learn as much as you can without burning out, etc.
Would love to learn more about that as well. Thank you for pointing this challenging aspect of PhD life. Hopefully Andy will discuss this in future videos. 🙏
I completely moved away from any bullet points or text. I just show some images or figures and tell the story myself. This has brought me quite far and I’ve gotten very positive feedback.
If you can tell your narrative through a compelling story to an audience you know what they're interested in, then it means you got it. You can drop the mic and leave the room. Thanks for the insightful video!
This was great and i see the great value of the stunts and reduction of slides. I used to lecture in the history of painting and photography and was guilty of too many slides, certainly of the images but also the theoretical material. I did this with the images because I knew the lazy students would never look at the images and artists I would cover (too quickly) in the lecture. I really didn't give enough attention to the capacities of my audience in an effective way. Thanks for these great tips. Love your channel!!
It's running joke in our lab group that our presentations should never be "boring and ugly"...which is really a poke at the institutionalised members of faculty whose presentations are precisely that!
So, what is the structure of the oral defense presentation of dissertation? Do you have any suggestions? Or just like the structure in the dissertation?
Hi Andy, i have referred your videos and learn more, recently i have summited my thesis (Microbiology). could you please make a video on how add effective animations in slide....
Thank you for the great advice and content! Do you have any tips for fast-talkers (especially the 100 miles a minute with lots of emotional energy from being excited/nervous)? Does this communication style deter from the message? Creates a bad impression? And what can be done? And what are some tested techniques to turn nervous into excited? (cognitive, behavioral, etc.) THANKS!
Thanks for the tips, but I am nervous and shy. I have my master's thesis presentation in few weeks, I still don't know what to put together, could you please help?
I am mad because I am good at doing presentations but I do not have data. My supervisor gave my data to other student during my first semester and I started working on the second with something he is not an expert. I just have trials, do you think I should do it?
Absolutely. Findings from secondary data analysis may help you to write your problem statement(s) more vividly. I am using secondary data analysis for my phd thesis work.

Oh yes! That would be really great!
Yes, I was always impelled to get out of there lest I go insane!
I can't remember what you said in this video but you've made me feel confident 🙂

Sooo timely Andy... I have my master presentation tomorrow 😍😍😍... Thanks
The way this channel is my secret weapon against PhD anxiety
I consider myself a good presenter but your advice will take me to the next level - thank you!
Happy to help!
You're a lifesaver... You have no idea how much I needed this guide to help me deliver a presentation.

Like always very much helpful!
Andy I'd just really like to thank you for all the regular posts. You have inspired me to grow my own wisdom beard😊.
Thanks for these useful advices. I am bad at my research presentation. I should first of all know my audience.

That's smart! Repeating skill & fear->excitement
Adapt to audience!
Preparing to propose my research work! Thanks! I'm going to knock it out of the park!
I would love that video idea you mentioned about the more practical stuff for presentations
Thank you so much! I am preparing for my first conference presentation and your videos have been helpful and informative!
Great tips. .thank you. , eagerly awaiting my PhD presentation
Thank you! Your tips are helpful!
Amazing, thanks!
You just brought the main points!
Helpful. Always great content!!
Thanks ❤😊

Excellent tips!
Gold dust 👍
Thank you!
Thank you ❤
What ideal number of slides you told of.
Thank you.
So alternate timeline where Kratos becomes a researcher. A pretty good one at it lol
Thank you so much. I have a question concerning the number of slides while presenting, does this matter?

Hey Andy! I have a question. Is it possible to pursue a field that your PhD was not in? Could I go into physics with a PhD in mechanical engineering?
very helpful. wish me luck
Best of luck!
What headline analyzer do you recommend?
Can I do my research based on secondary data if it's relevant to my topic?

@@ANKITGUPTA-rw2gf thank you so much for your reply. Now I can move further with a clear mind 🙏
