Wow this really takes me back. I remember sittin at my cousin’s house watching this game on a Saturday if I’m not mistaken because we didn’t have a game that day. This was my junior year in high school.
Not fair and disagree hardcore with that thought process. Watching this in real time during the mid 2000s made this look like a futuristic game. It has been where the game was heading and many alumni from the mid 90s to early 2000s wouldn't be calling this smash mouth ball. Lining up from the Shot-Put formation is as modern football as it got. There's a reason why Remember The Titans put that as a inside joke for their movie. Team randomly decided to have run a play against the D coach with 3-4 wide outs and one RB. "Who they think they are the New York Jets??" It's where the game has been headed imo.
I remember Hoover being the #1 team in the nation and having a show on MTV. I remember a team from Louisiana John Curtis Christian coming to Hoover, AL and beating the dog mess out of Hoover. The coach Russ probes got drunk as a skunk and cried that night as well. Good times….
I was 7 years old at this game… man time flies. I still remember how hot it was 😂😂and thank you for this, chad Jackson from Hoover and Tim Tebow are the reasons I’m a gator fan
@@BUCATTACK I do remember. They had that stage in the south end zone for the after game concert lol. That game was a bath burner for sure. Just too many mistakes from us in the end. If memory serves correct we were tied up in the 4th quarter before it got away from us.
Yes we knew that MTV was going to be there. Personally, I can’t remember anything that changed for us leading up to the game. ESPN cameras had already followed us during the summer and part of the previous season so by that point we were used to the concept. I thought that it was a very unique environment that Hoover had however MTV did a terrible job with the final cut. They showed plays out of order and cut the video so that they didn’t show any of Hoover’s weaknesses. They completely skipped personal fouls by them as well as them getting scored on. I get that the show is about them but how can you show 1st quarter plays in the ‘fourth quarter’ and not humanize the game in the third? Lol
@@TheRyanEllis I really liked the show but I noticed the editing wasn't that great. I remember Jeremy Pruitt was yelling at a practice and you could tell they spliced together a sentence, also the main kid on the show, Alex, was clearly a linebacker and they kept saying he was a safety. Were they an undisciplined team? That would be hard to believe with the head coach they had.
@@Barfyman362. the show was poorly done. But that was to be expected from a network that prides themselves on reality drama and not sports. It’s also why they haven’t gone back to doing any sports since. They were disciplined to a point. But during the second quarter there was a period where Pruitt had to reel in the defense because they committed 3 personal foul penalties on one drive. Overall they were a pretty good team though in and out
Ryan Ellis you looked like a really good receiver. We're you Tim's go to receiver? And also I've always been a Tebow fan, but I was just wondering if you guys are still friends and is he as nice as it seems?
We had a lot of offensive weapons at Nease. Sent 20+ guys to college scolly in a 3 year period. But, yes, I was his go to. He’s exactly as you see him in interviews, tv, and social media. 100% the real deal.
@@jstud999 A loaded up recruited 2A school that has to forfeit state titles because of cheating. Hoover has a winning record vs the state of Louisiana overall just like Alabama has.
I remember that show was called two days back when I was growing up, I feel so nostalgic looking at these type of videos
It was only 18 years ago. What’s nostalgic about that?! Lol

This was my senior year of high school. The under armor dry fit shirts crack me up. They were just getting big then. Everybody had one.
I kind of wish I still had them. You really can’t find that style anymore!
Nothing funny about those shirts, they are way better than the shirts sold now.
I use under armor in special Olympics when I play floor hockey
Back when kids were still playing smash mouth football... It's a speed game now.

It was 120° + on the field. I had to get an IV at halftime just to make it through the game. Go Gators!!
It was an honor to watch y’all play back then man. Hope all is well with you and once again thank you for this little piece of my childhood🤌🏾

Do you think Tebow will be able to make a quick transition to TE this summer? Hell of an athlete and I'm jealous you guys had him for a qb and leader.
Thanks for sharing this!
Anytime! Are you Nease or Hoover?
Safe to say Hoover defense saved them kuz Ross was trash asf. No wonder he stuck with baseball
I was a Sophomore 10th Grade at Huffman High School GO Vikings in Birmingham, Alabama.
So cool. I was loooking the 2 a days show and found this. Did you end up playing in college?
Yessir. Spent 2 years at Southern Miss and after a coaching change spent my final years at Arizona.
