I Finally was able to see the two of these teams this year... Very impressed. I see why the rankings were high on Thomson in the preseason rankings! Athletes all over the field for both squads
Good Game. Both teams defensive was impressive. 5 *CB & 5* Safety got exposed. #7 and #11 edge guys there is no answer in HS football for those guys. #2 wr is a Swiss army knife(all purpose). Its clear most of the air attack go thru him. Thompson is well curated team. The rematch between hoover vs Thompson will be another classic for 2021.

It's been years ago but Hoover football had their own reality television show on MTV. Tua, the Miami Dolphins QB, went to Thompson and his little brother is starting QB at U of Maryland. He was at Bama but the OC from U of A took the head job at Maryland and Tua's little brother followed him. The same with Hoover, double digit players signing major D-1 scholarships yearly. Hoover plays against some of the nations best, from other states, EVERY year on ESPN. Just a few factoids off the top of my head. I'm not a "fan" of either school. In fact, I've heard rumors (I AM a 35+ year high school official in another sport here, we gossip like an old ladies beauty shop) that both schools illegally recruit players to their respective programs. I mean, c'mon, Tua and family are from Hawaii state, this is Alabama. I DON'T have proof but it wouldn't surprise me. Both head coaches make, and I'm going to be pretty near, close to $200k a year, if not more, including car allowance, speaking fees, etc. Here endeth my rant.

Fans want to hear their announcers more than the other teams announcers. That is what you are listening too.
Bro, I was up in the band. And as a band kid, you get booed and talked smack to when we walk off of the field from pregame. I wasn’t gonna say anything. We were losing at halftime, so the same thing happens. But oh boy were those some sad Thompson fans when just smiled and waved to at the end. All the yelling and screaming makes you lose your voice and ables you to sing really low the next morning.
Not even fair. We played IMG academy a few years ago and we got smoked (in our prime too). I don’t think we stand a chance against those California boys.

I went and as usual hoover had the referees in their pockets horrible called game in favor of hoover I am from Alexander City and have never liked hoover hope Thompson blast them in the rematch you have to leave no doubt with this team when you have to play the referees too .
