Quite impressive visual effects...for its time. Love the final attack scenes with absolute panic...I mean listen to the sound of big Ben being smashed and you can hear the bell crump inside the tower as all hell breaks lose. Brilliant movie
I went to see this back in 1961 with a few schoolmates. All of us 14 yrs old. As long as we behaved ourselves we were allowed in. I remember feeling sorry for Gorgo.
as a kaiju fan i quite enjoy this one, its part of my rotation even though it wasnt made in japan. clearly, they took a lot of influence from godzilla with the dedication to the miniatures and suit acting also, a lot of ppl around the world probably got a good kick out of london getting knocked down a peg

My guess is he started to regret his idea of capturing gorgo some form of guilt about taking a creature from its home and using it as an attraction for people

Noticably one of the few giant monster movies where the titular monster doesn't die at the end.
This movie is probably one of my favorite non japanese kaiju films and way better than reptilicus
