The one thing that still makes me laugh was the scene where those soldiers went after Yongary and when the lead soldier looked up at him he said 'Compared to this guy Godzilla is a pussy' this was the first giant monster movie I ever saw where Godzilla was mentioned even though the King of the Monsters wasn't in it.
Those pilots did more damage to the city than the monster🤦♂️

Very good Sci-Fic and Monster movie--"Reptilian" as the pre-historic giant monster in time of dinosaurs on the pre-historic Earth sleeping for 2 hundred millions years until it finally woke up in present time. No gores No bloodshed unlike the old classic 1960's Japanese sci-fiction movies that were released in USA.
This film is actually a remake from a Korean kaiju film from the 60s, called Yongary creature from the Deep
based on a true story.

i remember watching on sci-fi channel in 2001 it was so bad it's good, this is mockbuster of cash in on successful Roland Emmerich Godzilla 1998 film
Man it's hard to believe that it has been 25 years since this movie came out and I saw it and man it was both an awesome and kick ass movie and a great homage to the giant monster movies of the past like Godzilla and King Kong and Yongary is one great character even if he was completely all C.G.I.

Yeah, good watch for a drinking night. Kinda cheesy, but it's still for us folks who grew up on 80s movies. Besides the graphics, kinda cool to see some other monster kick ass. 😎 and yeah, a Godzilla replica, still, I'm OK with it.

Its obvious that you are someone who has faith and I would not knock you for that but I would like to ask you when did you believe this? When you were born or was it something your parents told or something you learnt at church?
I was raised a catholic but I don't believe it or believe in it. Because the bible isn't complete they left a lot out plus the fact that there are a lot of lies in it. Also with books like the Book of Enoch and others I believe that we were made by extraterrestrials either as an experiment or a slave work force but they are not gods and if there actually was someone called Jesus the only thing that makes him special is that he was an extraterrestrial and someone who was millions of years more evolved than us. I consider myself a spiritual person but I can't possibly believe in our religious hogwash. Cheers

One of the best monster fights I've seen
Godzilla type sci fi. Low budget, bad script & acting, but still fun. The monsters were the only decent actors. Notice that the city was totally destroyed, but at the end when they’re lifting the monster out all the buildings are magically restored. Worst line: “If that thing was any meaner I’d think it was my wife.” (Groan!)

I hesitate to even call this turkey a "movie." It's badly over-acted by some of the cast, and badly under-acted by the rest. Do yourselves a favor and watch something interesting. You know, like reruns of the Kennedy-Nixon debates. You might learn something, and they'll even put you to sleep faster.

not terrible, but the CGI looks pathetic by todays standards. I'd go so far as to say Ray Harryhausens stop motion clay monsters of the 60s look more realistic than these "cartoons".

The name of the film "Yonggary (1999 film)" base on Yongary Monster from the Deep 1967 a South Korean & Japanese monster film , "Yonggary (1999 film)" was make by a Korean Director Shim Hyung-rae ,the film element of dragon , Dinosaurs and Reptilian alien and US military , which reminds of the American & South Korean join production film " Dragon Wars: D-War (2007) " , just as i suspected both film are make by the same director Shim Hyung-rae . i guess he has a vision of Dragon attacking modern military . Both film were targeted for western audience . I mean first he make Yonggary (1999 film) then he got a bigger Hollywood budget and make Dragon Wars: D-War (2007) , watch both film , and you can see a man spend yr turning his dream vision into film . it must be difficult for Korean director to convince Hollywood to make his film , and i respect him for his hard work in making his dream come true .
