I recently found Justin’s channel while having morning coffee routine. He is very humble man and an incredible guitar player. Thank you for having Justin as a guest and the interview. Much appreciated.
That opening slide piece was just fantastic! And Justin's a real fine player and all around great guy! I had a '64 Impala and then a '69 Camaro I got in 1971!
Late to the party.. Recently discovered Justin and he's quickly becoming one of my favorite musicians. @Zac, absolutely fantastic interview. Your questions really draw out a lot of thoughtful answers from Justin. What an inspiring human he is.
What a fantastic interview of a truly talented young player, Ironically, These two guys YT channels are my latest faves to watch and learn so much from.. Thanks guys for such fab work
Excellent show.! I’m an old geezer.. so it’s pretty funny that you were listening to “classic rock “ on the radio… and I was lucky (?) enough to have listened to it on FM radio… new.. Enjoy your youth guys..!! Live the shit out of it..!
I’ve just recently discovered Justin and am really fascinated with his talent and personality. What a great story. My best to Justin and this channel. (I subbed and rang the bell) Thanks for sharing these stories. 🙏
A bit of advise from someone that didn't take their shot in Nashville. I played guitar for Charlie Walker at a small county fair in North Dakota, long after he was popular and was in his 70's. He offered to take me backstage at the Opry and introduce me to the Nashville scene. I didn't go. Now at 58 years old, I wish I would have at least took my shot. I don't know if I was good enough or not...never will. If you are being honest with yourself and feel like you have a chance, GO....take your shot. But be warned. The music business has darn few happy marriages. The road and spouses don't mix well. Which is the biggest reason I left the music business, I wanted a family. For me, I chose well. For someone else, it could be a different story.
GREAT episode. I'm a huge huge fan of that Shannon Labrie record, especially the solo on the end of "Political." I'd love to know what guitar, pedals, and amp Justin used on that solo, if possible! Thank you!
Grew up on zz top and zepplin, switched over to nirvana and soundgarden. Ends up in Nashville, the home of country music. Not knocking this guys chops, but this shows what happened to country music. Today it's essentially classic rock with a fiddle.
Johnathan, The players here are limited by what the producers and labels allow them to do. Justin can absolutely play great tradtional styles. In fact, he took down my blonde 1967 Tele from the wall after our interview and peeled off a bunch of licks that showed that he is an amazing straight up Tele guy ala Albert Lee or James Burton. The problem is, nobody wants that style of playing right now. Let us hope that things can change, so that the great group of players in town can play what they love. Zac
Truetone I agree, he is a great player no question. Just saying because he has a more rock background, that's why they want him. Sorry if I sounded critical of his background.
Really enjoyed thanks for these great interviews
Thank you. Please feel free to share them with others.
I like this guy so much, he is such a tasteful musician with beautiful tones.

@Nathan Sousa, Justin responded, "I used a Stock Landau Strat, 1965 Deluxe Reverb, Morgan Shadow Fuzz, and a Univibe."
Awesome thank you!!
You are welcome

Zac, I have seen some Nashville # charts on line. They look like standard Roman numerals that are used throughout music. What’s am I missing?
They use 1,2,3,4,5 not I II, III. Also they are used in a way to denote bars and split bars.
Justin is a cool dude.
justin used to teach me guitar at rick's guitar shop in manhattan ks
Haha that seems like a lifetime ago man
Tuck Andress is another mathematical guitarist, to an extreme in both.
Can you do one with Phil Keaggy?
Tim Pierce uses DOD Grunge as a very good fuzz... he showed this on one of his video.... guitar playing on a budget.
Thanks! Tim is fantastic. We have seen many of his episodes.
Might I suggest raising the volume of the speaking parts?
Sorry Dennis!
No problem, just trying to offer some constructive criticism as a fan of your videos. I want to hear as much as I can.
Thanks for your reply.
We are bumping it up for the next video with Bill Crook.
