no way, i can't explain how intense is the nostalgia while listen it, so deep and meaningful to my life, this was not just a game, i lived that in real
I remember Dion was when you started seeing a lot more players wearing manticore, mithril, and brigandine sets while making your way to Cruma Tower. Feels strange to be part of that first big wave of online gamers before age of social media.
I was playing this game only for this one song. Usually, I just sat in Dion and listened to it. I couldn't do anything else, because I had like 10 fps back then, but still- I was happy. Thanks to this track.
Yeah the castle sieges back then were absolutely insane and a massive lagfest. The game has not aged well, but it still have it's own unique charm and nostalgia runs through me when I run by some of these old areas.
Really old MMORPG I played back in 2003 up until 2016 off and on. I still hop on once in a blue moon and fool around. I would like to archive a lot of the towns and locations before they close the game down (down to three servers now). This was the first game I made ambient/music videos for way back in 2007-2008,, it's kind of when I started doing videos like this but I accidentally deleted the channel many years ago being an idiot. I eventually in 2012 started my new UA-cam journey on League of Legends and was a skin spotlight content creator on my WretchedOutkasts channel which unfortunately I had to stop due to certain tools I required were not getting updated after large game updates. So things have come full circle and I am back to my original game and my original UA-cam content I started over a decade ago :) I get a lot of requests for World of Warcraft but I never played the game, I was always more into the grindy Korean MMO's like Lineage 2 and Aion (less grindy). Maybe a bit of a NCSoft fanboy I guess. I would love to do Aion and Blade & Soul one day.. again, both NCSoft games.
É absurdo como essa música de Dion traz uma carga de memórias nostálgicas e bem estar ao mesmo tempo. Coisas que não voltam mais, mas foram muito bem vividas em 2005. Thanks for the video ❤
I listen to these music today at my 40s working in the office and I can't believe all the good times, and plays between friends that come to mind. I hope one day to find a game with as much magic as Lineage II (C4 to Ertheia A lot of time!)
Dam i remember first time playing L2 c4 , made an orc warrior and spawned in orc village, was going around shops checking what they offering and had no clue what all these items doing or meaning except damage and so on, than started killing mobs lower lvl but was dying constantly because i didn't knew what soulshots was, but some random person was kind enough and told me about them, checked the map and was amazed how massive it was, then walked massive distance from one town to others because i miss teleporter and even didn't had money to use, since was buying useless stuff, no handholding no nothing, true exploration experience.
This song alone pushed you to keep leveling past level 40 in Cruma Tower, even though it was tough and slow as hell, back in C1 or C2. That's how good this song is.
To have a great mmo experience once again is a dream of mine... but i feel like we were a lucky generation who were able to live in a fantasy tale for as long as it lasted... and it may not repeat itself in the future, because the current gen is too busy scrolling their soc.medias feed for memes and playing stupid p2w mobile games... sadly :( I guess its just the nostalgia speaking in me, heh maybe its better for me to stay away, since i dont have as much time to play as i used to when i was a student :D
My first character was a Monk on Devianne back in 2004, I always thought we had it easy in the Orc lands compared to Talking Island and then the open world zones that gave access to Dark and Light Elf villages. Don't even think they had NPC guards around at that time, it was pure chaos lol and I loved every second of it.
My favorite town of all. Besides this song, the other one that is amazing is the one from Hunters' Village. I played since C1 up to Interlude. I think that C3 was one of the best additions to the game with the catacombs. I have not found a game like L2, not even close. My main was a Dark Avenger and I had 4 Alt characters: a Hierophant (for buffs), an Elven Elder (healing), a dwarven Warsmith (crafting) and a Dwarven Bounty Hunter (scavenging). I used them separately to support the clan battles or to balance the team going in adventures to the Tower of Insolence, for example. However, my most fond memory, was leaving this town to grind inside Cruma Tower with my Black Panter on my side, and to to find dozens of players defeating the enemies inside and outside of the tower, to lend a hand to those in need that were overwhelmed by a train of mobs created by their inexperience or by a troll aggroing mobs just to get your loot. At the time, I created a Clan... we bought out first clan hall in Dion, and then I founded a 2nd and 3rd subclan (then formed an Alliance) and we got all Dion's Clan Halls. They were not as fancy as Giran's or Aden's but they were good. When the fortresses were added, we conquered them all. We held Dion's Castle roughly before the start of C3 up until the Kamael came in while the alliance grew... but then after a while people started to log out one by one, and the alliance started to fall apart until just 10% of the members of my original clan were reamining. So we decided one day to trade the fortresses, and clan halls with other clans and alliances that were up to standard to hold this beautiful town, and we kept, until I was the only one left playing, our initial clan hall, which was sold to an acquantaince that was still around playing in another clan... and that is how... we raised to power and slowly leave the game until our bitter end... most people left after they got married, or a job in another country, etc. Life at its best. But the memories are still there. I had the honor to meet several people from different countries, US, Canada, Germany, Brazil, Spain, etc. Some of them left this plane of existence and are probably on Heavens' Cruma Tower hunting down dangerous foes.
Man, someday I'll have the financial resources to buy a plot of land and have Lineage 2 town built. It wouldn't have Wi-Fi, but eh, who needs that anyways. On a more serious note, I've always wanted to create an MMORPG of my own, and have played around with several ideas that are pretty meta as far as game development goes, but never really found a worthwhile plan to invest my time and effort in. Even though Lineage 2 was a pretty strong grind, unlike a certain western competitor it never felt like the game was about max level. The map didn't look like an amusement park and, again, I cannot emphasize enough how much the experience was in the journey and not the destination. It might be a stretch, but has anyone here ever researched how the original L2 developers attained this?
Such a wrong decissions (prioritizing l2 over school) but also such a good time playing L2 in internet caffes with friends. A group of 2-5+ going to play this game IRL after the school and not from a "virtual world". 😢FeelsBadMan that now servers are totally trashes.
Sadly today,(in the classic server after you reach lvl20) in the live server after you reach 105, you're alone, and all content is party content, can't hunt solo (on classic serve you can't hunt whitout at least a buffer)and on the on all the servers you would have needed to kill a couple hundred bots to get a free spot, not auto-hunters ... BOTS ... secondly, bots have their PK'ers out to kill live players so YOU would have to leave the server ... after you off course paid money in the cash shop of L2, so you would be super disgusted after when leaving L2, and why actually, well Lineage 2 is NOT for live players anymore, not even for Auto-hunters, Lineage 2 is a money laundering operation for stolen credit cards, they DON'T need live players, nor do they want them, at max capacity on the forum server after a long break down of the L2 servers (like 9 years ago), they ONLY had 20.000 players on forum, at that time they had monthly prescription at 15$, so you can safely double that number for real subscriptions or even quadruple it since most players had a buff-boxed toon, let's keep it double conservatively, 40.000 X 15 =600.000$ a month, deduct the royalties they have to pay for using Unreal engine at 5% royalties and 2.5 dollar they have to pay per account to Java, it's not a great income at all, can barely pay employees from that, so their solution? Launder stolen credit cards trough cash shop items to their bot accounts, so they can register they have an increasing number of players, and those bots make money, sell this Adena to unsuspecting beginning players who are practically obligated to buy Adena to make it because the drop rate is so bad you won't be able to afford a C grade weapon even if you level all your toons to level 40 to collect materials and Adena(in-game money), so they double their profit there again, but how much does NC soft stand to gain from money laundering ? Most of the botters are braggy people, so they boast in chat how many "pony farms" Summoner player characters they have running, i always hear them say numbers between 100 and 200, so lets take 150 average, the number of names i counted that actually do this are shockingly high, about 400 players, what you can considers their "elite pvp'ers" hey those botters have to have fun while they run their pony farms afk-style... so 400 x 150 = 60.000 bots per server. Let's just take 1 server for our example, a stolen credit card, depending on their type have between 3000 and over 50.000 monthly spending limit, let's take a low average 5000 $ spending limit. so every month those 60.000 bots (let's be modest) launder only 1 credit card and empty it for 5000 $ , 60.000 x 5000 = 300.000.000 $ , 300 million freaking dollars per month, NC Soft does NOT need ANY live players, NC soft doesn't need any whales... NC SOFT is a money laundering operation of stolen credit cards

Ah! Time to get my dwarf and farm some abone. Hours later, time to sit down before the church and set my shop: Selling abone.
