I really loved what I played of the first game but I got stuck on one of the Simon says sections as my memory is awful. I'll still be getting this though.
I purchased this as soon as I saw your video on upcoming games, this review just reinforces my purchase, just need to finish a couple games to get started
5 hours in and I'm having a blast! I already really enjoyed the first game and this one clearly took the skeleton of BT1 and added so many fun features. 10/10 would recommend playing
I love that developers are still making these blockly top down style games and they're doing really well! I hope the new generation of gamers love them as much as the 90s kids did 💙
@@mayralex18 Touryst is a truly hidden gem. I played on Switch and it's beautiful with that voxel art. I never usually like voxel art but the Touryst nailed it and made a fun, super polished, short, novel, and entertaining adventure. I'd love a sequel to it! I can't believe how well it runs on Switch; I believe it's 60FPS and it has gorgeous lighting effects.
I just want to say that I'm happy to see that there's a reminder in the top-right of the screen about what each button does - because I'm always forgetting which button fires / blocks / jumps etc during games, so this is a welcome addition!
I looooved the first game and just now found out the sequel exists! To the eshop. I have the day off and this sounds like a great game to chip away at today. Thanks for the review as always!
In our review of the game my biggest complaint was the lack of quality of life features for the button layout, so I felt the solutions you proposed in this review were right on the money! Great review, and great game!
You can tell the people behind this game were fans of The Never Ending Story with the sneezing turtle and horse stuck in mud. Loved the first game ans just bought the digital version of this one, even though I'm waiting on the physical to be released. It was on sale on the Switch Shop and I decided I wanted to play it now. Glad I did.
Infinite bombs make the concept of bombable walls pointless. In the original LoZ, not knowing where to bomb in combo of limited bombs might be too frustrating to some people, just showing where to bomb and having unlimited bombs removes a layer of adventure. At some point, these games become action games and no longer action/adventure games. Bombs are very powerful in Zelda games. That's another reason why they are limitted. Infinite bombs would be OP in LoZ and ALttP. I'd also wish these games moved on from the early 90s and made modern '16' bit games. Alex Kidd, Wonderboy and Link's Awakening are able to draw in an audience w/o having to rely on nostalgia.
Thanks to that vid you did with SaveDex I'm currently half way through a replay of Links Awakening... SO GOOD! Hopefully this will help with the come down
I LOVED Zelda Oracle of Ages and Seasons, I just don't want to says is almost like them but I feel nostalgic and joy playing this games, I bought the 1st on sale, once I finish, certainly will try this as well
Aha. I've been waiting for this review. I tried the 1st game's demo. I like it. Very charming. I plan on getting the 1st game and finishing it 1st before i get the 2nd one.
Just finished this game, and I really enjoyed it. Exploration feels rewarding, and even though some of the optional items were a pain to get (looking at the Honeycomb medallion) it feels really awesome to have great rewards for longer side quests. I really feel the dungeons in this one were a step up from Blossom Tales 1, so that was fantastic, as well. Highly recommended for any fan of 2D Zelda games.
It was a great game. My only gripe was there were sooooo many coins in dig spots and chests and you easily buy out the stores and do not need the coins for a good 2/3 of the game. I love the potion / alchemy aspect of it but definitely felt like you get to almost invincible power towards the end. Don't know if I wanted more challenging battles or if it was sort of fun and felt like I got pay off for finding almost every secret and learning all potions.
The game is probably good fun; I enjoyed the original. My main gripe is the art style. I like pixel art and especially when its done well but I was not a big fan of the originals pixel art style but stuck the game out because it was short and fun. This one is on my wishlist but not any time until a sale. It looks nearly identical to the first game and I can understand not changing the art style but it doesn't really look like a new game as much as it does DLC from my perspective. I know I'm complaining a lot here but there are levels of pixel art and different styles and I don't think this is the worst pixel art but it's far from the best in games like Eastward for example. I wish they would have ironed out the style a bit. If you have never tried Blossom Tales and love top down Zelda games then you will like these games; just don't expect anything totally novel or groundbreaking with the gameplay. These games are Zelda likes and they do their job well but not much more.
Great game. Bought on steam, as good as the 1st one, i had zero issues with the map... only issue where the music is a bit quiet in spots but not s big deal. Still enjoying the game
The heart containers/pieces and way you gain more life, and the green meter underneath. omg it is basically zelda guess nintendo is cool with this on their console
I played the first one but wasn't a fan of the combat and sword-swinging animations. I finished it but was a bit bored in the second half. This looks a bit too similar and not much of an improvement. Thanks for the review!
I just love signposted games, so much easier if you are an easy gamer. I feel sometimes the games loose the focus and just get annoying perse, when the fun factor for me is the most important point. In this day and age who has the patiente to go around not knowing where to go next? I'm looking at you Links Awakening... As said is just the opinion of a poor player 🤭. So for me the first game was charming and did exactly what I think a game should do. Entertain, give fun and have problems that are challenging but not downright "guidesque" wich I find very amusing and giving a nice sense of progress. I will certainly get this second one when it gets on sale 👍
The first one was okish, I couldn’t finish it. A lot of the dungeons were just enemy vomit, and the dungeon design wasn’t the best. I’ll give this a try tho
5:41 Why would you want features like that in a video game like this? It's a classic-style top-down game. That would be the dumbest implementation and I'm glad there are no features like that in the game. I can't even imagine that in a Wii release of this game.
Buying their own copies would put them at competitive disadvantages from both a time perspective (publisher-provided copies are distributed before public release, so their reviews would come out later than their peers') and a financial perspective.

Have you played "the touryst" yet? I think it's a great example of this

Thank you. Yeah, it's strange that they didn't adopt the strategy used in more recent top down adventure games for this area. Glen

I enjoyed playing the 1st one so I'll definitely go for the second part! Thanks for the review :D
This is basically modern Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Yeah, to some extent. Glen
This look more like dark soul
@@wm1958 how?
@Nako do you know the game dark soul? It look like that game.
@@wm1958 I looked at dark soul but it looks nothing like this game.
Yes! I've been waiting for this game since it's announcement, was pleasantly surprised by the first one
Same, this looks like more of the same with some improvements so i'll be getting this one too 😁
Thanks to that vid you did with SaveDex I'm currently half way through a replay of Links Awakening...

I loved the first one so much, I had to put this one into my backlog but I'm happy to finally pick it up and start it!
I remember randomly stumbling upon the first one and being pleasantly surprised by it. Great to see a sequel!
Aha. I've been waiting for this review. I tried the 1st game's demo. I like it. Very charming. I plan on getting the 1st game and finishing it 1st before i get the 2nd one.
@Travis Smith that's because im a broke and cheap bastard. Im waiting for the 1st one to go on sale that matches it's previous low. 😅
I bought it a few days ago, haven’t played it yet but I will start it over the weekend. It seems to be a real gem of a game.

Will this game blossom into a fun bouquet, or wilt into boredom? Let’s find out!

Would you recommend playing Blossom Tales 1 before playing this game?
Thought you'd like that one, being an old school Zelda fan, I will definitely pick it up, very reasonably priced.
Yeah, the price is spot on! Glen
I liked the first one quite a bit. Preordered this one. Haven’t played it yet but I’ll get to it eventually.
First one was pretty good. I'll be checking this one out.
The heart containers/pieces and way you gain more life, and the green meter underneath. omg
it is basically zelda

Hah. Morkla the giant turtle is a great Neverending Story reference.
Yeah. It also has a reference to Stephen King's IT with one of the ancient ones being a turtle. Glen

Never tried the 1st one might have to give it ago! Cheers guys 👍🏻😁
Looks like i"ll need to finally play the first one from my backlog as I really like the look of this.
It's pronounced "Mihn-uh-tore". You're killing me.
I really enjoyed the first game. I'm just a little tired of pixel art in 2022. Was hoping the graphics would have a little increase
I'm enjoying it. Loved the 1st one.
Didn't that girl ever watch labyrinth? You can't wish your brother away then some weird dude comes and does it
Definitely going in the backlog - and might even get fast-tracked to get played within the next decade ;-)
BotW stand aside, this is the real LoZ successor!
My girls excited for this one ☺️
Ya I'm going to have to finally pick up the first game... because I think it's inevitable I pick t his one up...
Love old school Zelda so these are awesome
A Link to the Past-like
Must Buy 😎🤙👍👍
Love it. Buying it right now
Loved the first if this is more of the same then a definite buy. Good price point too
This reminds me of links awakening! Awesome 👏🏼
I'm buying this because I liked the first one
The first one was okish, I couldn’t finish it. A lot of the dungeons were just enemy vomit, and the dungeon design wasn’t the best. I’ll give this a try tho
I better download this one before Nintendo bans it from the shop!
Blossom Tales 3 co op Now?!?! 🙏🏽
I looked on it and it look good and I seed no gramartical erors.
Seeing this game just makes me long for a Link to the Past remake in the style of Link’s Awakening.
Sounds like a keeper
This is the story of Labyrinth but it’s Minish Cap??
yes reviews
Is there gonna be a physical copy?
Limited Run Games I believe
looks good but i'm not a fan of the walking like bouncing animation
wow bloosom tales really cute
will there be a physical copy?
Lrgs I think
Tribes of mudguard please
Great looking game
Physical?
Is there a physical copy?
@Travis Smith DAMN!!!!!!
@Travis Smith I saw a physical copy of the first blossom
As I've seen the physical copies are rare and very expensive.
Nothing sadder than a professional product with glaring grammatical errors
Yeah, it's quite jarring when it happens. Glen

Just a note you cant criticize this games or you would be labeled a phobic of T community
Don't you think receiving free product codes from the dev make you bias?
No it doesn't mate. Not even remotely. We take reviewing very seriously and will say whatever needs saying. Glen

No matter how good it is.. people ought to get bored of the EXACT same thing over time.
