I have a question if you don't mind. I use libsyn for hosting, and I am currently using youtube as a distribution channel, so it automatically uploads the audio podcast with a placeholder image. I do record video as well, but I don't know if I can get that uploaded in a way that will still funnel the views back to libsyn as listens, since I need that for advertising.
You’re right, your videos will be separate from the RSS distribution you do with libsyn. But since you’re already recording video you can optimize and post your videos on your YT channel.
@@duffthepsych if your downloads are high on UA-cam with your current strategy ( rss distribution) I wouldn’t change anything because what you’re doing is working. But if you’re not happy with your downloads on YT I will consider posting your videos and have a YT SEO strategy.
@@podsoundschool I really appreciate the feedback. My YT views for the podcast rss videos are pretty low, so it may make more sense to upload separate videos. Thank you!
Do you recommend posting both audio only episode and video of the same episode separately? If so, should they both go to the same podcast playlist? I can automate the audio version with my podcast host and upload the video separately.
Awesome question. It's not necessary to upload the audio version. UA-cam will convert the video to audio automatically for UA-cam music. So yes, just like you're thinking, the optimum workflow (currently): 1. upload audio to podcast hosting site 2. upload video to UA-cam 3. upload video to Spotify for Podcasters. Yes this gives you three different feeds to manage, but its the optimum workflow in terms of getting the most of the current platforms.
@@homesteadingforbeginners also a great question. Here you would have to choose to stop distributing your podcast to spotify for podcasters via your podcast host. Which means you would have to start building your podcast from scratch again on spotify. So you may decide to stay audio only on spotify because of this extra work load. But since you're already going through the video uploading process every week, you may as well repeat the process on spotify (since it's pretty much identical). All things to consider. Good luck and keep us posted.

@@podsoundschool So you think that's more beneficial even though it's "splitting" the downloads so to speak?

@@podsoundschool ok awesome. Thank you. How do you upload to Spotify video? My audio is already going to Spotify through my pops cast host.
