Man you really brought that amp to life! I admire your technical prowess. Always wanted to learn the why and how about Marshalls, as much as I play them I should know should know

I had a Bluesbreaker reissue at one point. I could never get it to break up. I was disappointed.

I had the same problem - couldn't get any life out of it. Damaged my left ear in the progress.. This one sounds glorious. I sold mine ages ago.. Have knackered hearing to remind me of it 😐

You put the "Beano" back!!! :) Nice work man...handn't watched your vid series on this one yet. I don't think I've heard another amp get that nice of a Clapton/Beano tone.

Wow, just wow man! I’ve never been a huge Marshall fan, but this amp could change all that. Sounds like just like Jimmy Page! Really sad those classictone xfrmrs are no longer made. I have a couple smaller amps that use ‘em and they just kill. Great work, Lyle!

Were the 50uf x 50uf filter caps replaced with a differnent value?

I’m in love with the 1962 sound, but I just can’t justify $4k on it. Do you have any recommendations for a combo clone? About all I can seem to find are the JTM 45 heads.

I haven't played through one, but I bet the Friedman Runt-50 1x12 is a really good bang for the buck.

Was this amp set up for KT66s?

Did this amp be say 50 watt tremolo on the back of chassis? I always wondered why they said 50 if they were supposed to be around 30 watts? Were some of the reissues of these 50 watts and others 30? Is the newer non handwired one a 50 or the original 30 ish watts? I'd love to figure which is the best reissue through the years as the original is so out and of reach.

I believe all JTM45 type amps (1962 Model is a JTM45 with tremolo) are rated at around 30 watts. They are still loud as hell; just like Vox AC30s.

@@vayabroder729 some bluesbreaker reissues are 30 watts and some are 50 watts, it's usually written on the back. Different time periods when they were reissued.

@@simonconnell7256 I understand that the proper Bluesbreaker amp is a JTM 45 with tremolo and 2-12 speakers which has tube rectification and is around 30 watts. That’s the one Slowhand used with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and that’s where it gets the popular nickname but it was a Model 1962. Marshall also made the Model 1961 with the same chassis but a 4-10 version. After that Marshall kept making other 2-12 models with higher powered chassis (50 watt non tube rectified models which was basically the same circuit as 50 watt heads or 1987 Models). Those are very close and look almost identical but are not exactly a “Bluesbreaker” amp.

I have blues breaker 62 ri. I thought it was bland sterile horrible tone. I had it gutted and put in a hand wired ptp 1987 super lead board deleted tremolo and had a master volume installed and it use el34 power tubes now. Much better than the stock blue breaker imo and cost $600 to have it done. The amp is very versatile no at low or high volume with ability to jump channels and added master volume

Same here couldn't bond with the chassis as too many of my other Marshall's showed what it's supposed to sound like, kept the purple tolex cab it's a tremelo width chassis wait for the right one to mount in
