Make me want to light some incense and sit cross legged on the floor whilst I listen to this gem once again. I’d almost forgotten about it in my senior years. It’s like finding an old friend. As others have said, it’s one of the finest acoustical pieces you’ll ever hear. Thank you for sharing it! ☮️💜
Used to play this at uni in London age 18 in 1974 on my Yamaha FG180. So nice to return to it now I'm 68 - on the same guitar. One of the lovliest drop D's ever. Thank you Mr K.
Ed Sciaky of WMMR and later WIOQ in Philadelphia used to open his weekly radio show on Sunday nights with this. He helped introduce Springsteen, Billy Joel and most importantly Yes to the masses…what a wonderful song!
I've loved it ever since I first heard it in the late 60's. And I'm going to get to see Jorma again in February on the 2023 Cayamo Cruise! I can't wait!
1. I've had my own Half-Assed version all these years - now I'm gonna buckle-down & learn it corectly from the Master. 2. Thank you, Jorma for creating the world's first & best Psychedelic acoustic guitar instrumental ever.
I was a drummer in a rock band when I first heard _Embryonic Journey,_ It fired me up enough to glom onto an acoustic guitar and figure it out. I wasn't completely guitar-illiterate; I got the drop-D tuning, but I had zero finger picking technique. So I muddled through it with a flat pick well enough to not make me barf. It was actually half-decent, but the other half was assed. Time to do it right!
Thanks Jorma been mesmerized by this song since I’m a kid had on the worst of Jefferson Airplane and they use this as the theme song music on the “Garden Show “on am radio out of Woodstock NY every Sunday morning so amazing seeing you play it saw you with Hot Tuna a few times but you didnt get a chance to play it still groovin on Bowl legged woman and a knock kneed man though lol

Lucky you to have the talent too. It washes over me when I am blue, like Nick Drake or Bruce Cockburn. Peace. Namaste from Canada
This might be the finest guitar piece ever written. It's pure genius!
it's up there with the finest of all time, for sure

Never missed a Sunday night show.
One of my all time favorite instrumental guitar pieces.
A true timeless masterpiece! I've enjoyed this since I first heard it in Feb. 1967. Anhistorical, out of time but in time. Thanks Jorma!
Well that was awesome.
Bringing us all hope there’s still great music out there.
Man that's a beautiful song
