i've just been looking within this priec range where i live - glasgow, if you're curious - and for the price of a shitty studio flat in london with the walls half missing you can rent an entire 2 bed, furnished modern flat. london is a scam.
For the price of Ciaran’s flat we rent an entire 4 bedroom detached house in the north east. London is a massive scam

My uni room has the microwave under the sink. It frequently leaks so badly that the water seeps into the microwave and onto the plug socket which is also under the sink... apparently it's not a fire hazard as 'the electricity will trip if the water touches the mains'...not sure that's quite how that works. health & safety who ??
Ummm, sure... The fuse will cut it, but what an inconvinient way to solve it. Microwave electronics will corrode and make it fail completely. And water will pool on the floor and it will rot.

I also live in London and I've been trying to move out for years, All I can find within my budget is a single bed that is next to the shower and microwave with a shared toilet.

Yeah it looks like one of those facial steamer things I see sephora targeted ads for all the time.. are they actually worth it? Because I just put warm water in a metal mixing bowl, put a towel over it and stand over it when I want to do a really deep clean and I feel like it's an okay diy.
@@bellz9113 well.. sometimes you would want steam to activate and increase the effect of a peel and/or a mask. And it's at the same time gentle on the bloodwessels, but I would not say that it's something you absolutely need in your life 😅

Moths are literally the most annoying things ever because when ur on ur phone at night the light attracts them and they fly in ur face

One moth problem fix is to get some cedarwood (little blocks of the stuff) and leave them around the area where you think they come from, you can even get blocks with hangers attached that you can hang in wardrobes. It genuinely works because I had a moth problem in my house.
The gap between the bed and wall in the first house is to stop black mould from forming as it is an exterior wall, therefore it should never be covered by anything or it can end up looking really bad

Worst place I lived whilst here was a studio flat on Old Kent Road in 2011. There was one window, very high up so it was dark all the time. The people in the Albanian cafe next door would play cards all day and night and the walls were so thin, it sounded like they were in the flat with me.
Prostitutes right outside the the front door too.
Lived there for 6 months. Can't believe I did!

My first place was a three story terraced house in Hampshire and was well under £500 a month. I lived there with my sister and a mate and we all played about £160 each. That was over twenty years ago but was still a bargain, nice house too. It's only about 100 or so miles south of London. My boyfriend worked in London and paid £800 a month to house share with two mates in a smaller house in Loughton, which is on the very outskirts and technically in Essex. London prices are fucking mental.

I live in Munich, Germany and our rent prices are similar to London. My flat is also just one room, with the kitchen in a drawer next to my bed. Tiny bathroom and toilet. I pay 630€ and there are even more expensive flats that are smaller than mine it's crazy
