- in this video I cover a reported fault on a #DAF #LF #alternator. this alternator function is the same on all models up to MY17 as it went to LIN control.
I cover basic diagnosis, what the brush pack does and where you should have power and to avoid the costly mistake of just changing parts. always provide evidence before rectification.

Thanks for the comment buddy. I can't change stuff without a reason and labour is cheaper than parts so I'm more than happy to be able to do diagnostic work.
I think it would be better without music too ha ha...trust me I've come along way with the video editing and this being one of my first videos i edited on my phone... I've plans to replace this video with a more modern and informative video.....without music 😂👌
Hello, Daf lf 45.170 euro 3, the engine, abs and alernator lights up on the display, but the water temperature and tachometer do not show. I get to abs with the diagnostics, where there is a can error and the diagnostics does not connect to the engine. The alternator has a blown fuse where there was also a charred cable, but it is unchanged. I am currently following the wiring under the oil filter and from the alternator to the control unit, but so far without results. The gentleman here once advised me when the speedometer and the cables to the diagnostic socket were not working, could this also be the cause? or where else could there be a mistake?

What info do you use for wiring & codes is it All from Daf
Hi Colm, it's all from DAF but we also use a 3rd party software for non-franchise vehicle's called #jaltest. This has a wealth of information and testing technical data for all makes. I find this 3rd party software as good the DAF information available to me as a dealer technician
