Incredible work, ive had 43 years in this game, watched the systems get more and more complicated, the job gets harder day by day. You have helped me on so many occasions,i cant list them. Please keep up the good work, i am mobile, but mot DAF dealer, this info you supply,is like being back at college, its pretty hard to digest everything, but just having to know where to look, and the fault finding processes and data to look for, is an absolute "Godsend". Thankyou!! 👌
Hey buddy thanks for the comment 👌😎 it's always the same, , but they always come back when "his mate" fires the parts cannon at his truck....spends 1000's of pounds on the fuel system and ECU replacent and it turns out to be a plug connector he's opened up with a multimeter.....true story lol
Thanks for the comment 😊👌. Ha ha ha I wish it was, especially when people have tried to do it FIRST 🫣. End of the day its a methodical process which is teachable to ANYONE 👌.
Hey buddy 😊 thanks for the comment 👌. Tell me about it......got another good video here, another "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" but it's going to end up being a UA-cam short I think.....I found the fault straight away after thousands being spent
@TRUCK TECH UK while your on, fancy doing a vid on expected Nox ppm on euro 5 and e6? Had a problem with a e5 CF. Interested on how my 750ppm to 300ppm on a e5 cf matches your findings. We see at least 8 emission jobs a week now. Lf to XF
Hey buddy thanks for the comment 👌. Links are in the description like Kieren said but word of advice I got mine through eBay and I had import tax to pay on it when it landed so I'd much rather get it from over here next time 😎
Thanks for the comment buddy 😎👌. It's the way of the world now unfortunately, complex systems req technically trained individuals to keep them on the road. 🚚
Thanks for the comment 👌, it's a daf specialist tool, but I'm looking at producing something with a lcd built-in that you plug in and it displays all the data from the component.
I'm also a HGV technician (Not in a dealership). I need to get into this oscilloscope stuff! Have you used many different types. Would something like a Hantek handheld one suffice for our line of work? Great video mate 👍
Hey buddy thanks for the comment 👌😎. It depends if you want handheld (fiddly to set up) or laptop based (easy to use), if it's laptop based Check this video out here ua-cam.com/video/A0wwhPJNDKk/v-deo.html and hopefully you can make your mind up on what you want 😎
Lovely video. I like when you work on new vehicles, cause tomorrow I will have it in the garage. Do you have experience with NGD models already buddy 😏
Hey thanks for the comment as usual ☺️. Ha ha ha I do alot of new vehicles but most of the time I find it's not worth recording. I have a bit of exsperiance with NGD....mainly updates. They seem pretty good otherwise 👌😎
Had a customer dust an engine beacause he fitted a air filter that was too small ,,As a DAF one was too dear ,,But he never learned and weeks later brought in one with a brake fault ,he had fitted a caliper...and yes the new caliper was at fault ..DAF one was too dear lol...I remember when EURO6 was new ,we had a XF with an intermittant start fault ,Luckily we had a spark at the time really good at the job and he traced it to a rotten plug for the SAC unit ...All i have done this year is engines though i have 2 gearboxes now in the Q ..i Honestly think i have done 2 jobs max where i need a multimeter ,It has been that long i don't think i could find the fusebox lol
Hey norb 👋👍. They just don't learn do they, what's more expensive......them screwing it up or workshops who have techincains who see these problems daily 🤷🙈 The plug on the SAC on euro 6 was a common fault which DAF put out a bulletin over capillary action forcing water into the plug if I remember rightly. This job is my 3rd sac fault this week. I've another to fit Monday.......I'm lucky I don't do the engines in our place.....the guy who does them has 50 camshafts to do......couldn't think of anything more boring 😅😅😅 reminds me of when I had to do a similar sort of number of valve stem oil seals on mx-11 a few years ago 🙈
@@TRUCKTECHUK I have never changed a SAC lol..Last time i did a caliper they where new to the market lol...I do enjoy the engines ,especially in winter as 1 im in the workshop,,2 you know what you have ahead of you for the day 3 you get left alone to get on with it ...worst part turning that key for the first time lol..Though i do have my system ..relays out ,bleed it up. spin it for 1 min as per DAF instructions ,top up oil give it another bleed ..spin it again for a min.... recheck oil relays in and it generally starts in 5 to 10 seconds ...I broke my fuel cap for pressurising the system ,now i need to hand prime it lol..Also whilst i have the fuel module out i strip and clean them, there is another filter in the base that the bio fuel clogs

Another great vídeo, always learning with your vídeos, Tks
Hey Lucas! You would of spotted this quicker than I would 😅👌 thanks for the comment buddy 😎
If the air drier was 120 , what would the correct one read? 0.4ohms if no resistor or 60 again? Confuses me this can stuff
Please can you shed some light on can errors but only with tacho graph I don’t do tacho it’s a grey area for me
This stuff is always so interesting
Thanks for the comment Alex 👌😎. I'm glad you liked it👍
Excellent find! It was definitely a strange one! This is a typical “my mate down the road will do it cheaper…” 😂

Thanks for sharing mate 👍
Hey thanks for the comment 😃👌. I hope it helped you in some way 😊😎
It’s like you’re a computer technician rather than a hgv mechanic.
Thanks for the comment buddy 😎👌. It's the way of the world now unfortunately, complex systems req technically trained individuals to keep them on the road. 🚚
great vid
Hey thanks for the comment 👌😎
Where do you get test leads and box

Okey will send it to you...
