Hello everyone! As I mentioned in the video I absolutely adore hotels and as a stylist and business owner of 3 retail stores, I find endless inspiration in the architecture, the rooms, the hospitality, and of course, all the smaller details that create beauty. I would love to know your hotel recommendations or bucket-list hotels below! xx Here is a list of hotels I recommend: www.suzieandersonhome.com/a/blog/exquisite-hotels-to-add-to-your-bucket-list-our-2023-hotel-guide
I's my dream to stay in the Hotel Del Coronado, across the bay from San Diego, and specifically the room Marilyn Monroe stayed in while she filmed the comedy Some Like it Hot.
My family used to go at least twice a year to the same resort in Vermont and it was like my home away from home. We don't go as frequently like we used to due to multiple reasons so I want to recreate that same vibe in my home so I always feel like I'm on vacation. ❤
Absolutely, I understand! Recreating that cosy resort feeling in your home can be as simple as adding a few touches that remind you of those special trips. Maybe it's incorporating some rustic wooden furniture or soft, plush blankets reminiscent of the cosy cabins. You could even bring in some natural elements like potted plants or a small indoor fountain for a serene ambiance. Sometimes, it's the little things that make the biggest difference in evoking those fond memories. Wishing you all the best in bringing those fond memories into your own home! xx
Such a lovely and inspirational montage and as usual, very practical suggestions, thank you. I've just got back from a central London hotel and one thing both impressed and frustrated me: the lights! The soft concealed mood lighting above the headboard and around the curtains was lovely, as was the innovative sculptural wall lighting in the en-suite. It was great to be able to visit the bathroom at night and only use the soft wall lighting. And the layered lighting generally was very nice. But I was bugged by the plethora of little blinking 'tech' lighting which was sleep disturbing. I counted 5 - television, air conditioning and various of my devices charging. Back home, I'm creating a 'tech drawer' - drilling holes in the back of a chest of drawers for concealed wiring, in which to hide my phone etc overnight. Also at home, I'm in the process of upgrading the plug sockets and light switches to bronze and brass fixtures. Beautiful to use and a great feel of quality.
Wow, what an amazing hotel that had such beautiful layered lighting but I totally agree when it comes to the tech lighting, bedside clocks etc. I now have to travel with an eye mask to avoid this neon! I love the sound of how you are creating a tech draw! Thanks for your great message! Suzie x
Susie I was just thinking yesterday how I wanted to design my small bedroom in Lux style starting with drapery I’ve seen in hotels. I have not spent time in many but one in particular was in Florida. The thing that stood out for me was the drapes. Completely light blocking, heavy but beautiful. You can tell quality by feel. So in order for me to acquire this taste I’m going to just make them myself. Great video great information and like you said beauty is in the detail
@bwiseok I completely agree. I've recently sewn curtains for the smaller of my two bedrooms: natural linen twill, lined and with a pretty passementerie down the leading edge. I saved a load of money, it wasn't difficult, and not only do they feel luxurious, but they also help block out street noise and excess light. I've discovered with curtains that splashing out on a lot of money per metre isn't necessarily the answer. A simple fabric wide enough to gather well, lined and weighted, makes a huge difference.
Thank you Bwiesok, always lovely to hear from you and you are so right that the drapes much such a difference! They can completely transform the space xx
I would love to stay at The Joule in Dallas Fort-Worth, Texas ❤️ The architecture of the building is old school & beautiful, whilst the inside amenities, beauty treatment spa & rooftop pool are modern & integrated so beautifully. I also look forward to a drink at their moody bar, The Midnight Rambler 🍸 Love from New Zealand to you Suzie 🇳🇿❤️🥝✌️
Thank you for the recommendation Fiona! I have added to my list of hotels to look up :) I love your description and hope you are keeping well in NZ! xx
Hotel Hapimag Hamburg. Hotel Kunstgradgarden in Stockholm. Hotel Hapimag Lissabon. All in the hot of the cities and made with the local environment in mind and so beautiful.
Hi Suzie! Yes, Hotels are lovely to stay in. So nice to escape from our everyday lives! Such a grand and majestic view of the mountains, in the Victoria Hagan source pictured!! And .. I noticed THE PIG, New Forest Hotel in Brockenhurst! 🙌 🥰 I admire variety. I had a friend who lived extremely minimalistic and I could appreciate him for that. Right down to two finger spacing in his closet 👀!! He appreciated my creative maximalism style, let's say. ☺️. Friends appreciating eachothers! My favorite Hotels I've stayed in are Art Deco. I love that style, always have, always will! ❤️ I do keep a wine decanter and 1 vintage etched wine glass in my bedroom, on a tray, when I feel up for such. Cheers dear 🍷 and thanks for sharing!
Hello lovely Gina! I enjoyed reading through your comment and how fun to hear you and your friends have different but equally compelling styles. I love the wine and decanter idea, very hotel like! Hope you are having a beautiful week ❤️
Hello Debra, yes, a stylish way to store your reading material as well as a great way to keep your laptop/ipad stored safely. Appreciate you watching! Suzie x
You can purchase linens and towels/robes from many high-end hotels and spas, as well as candles and fragrances and pillows. If you find something you particularly enjoy, ask the concierge if these items are available for purchase. The pillows, mattresses, and linens in my home are from the Ritz-Carlton, and I adore them.
Hello Suzie, love the inspiration and styles in this video. I’m always thinking of ways to elevate the bedroom while still feeling like a bedroom! I love the idea of creating a space within the bedroom to relax and read. Thank you! X
Hello Jin, I'm so glad you found some inspiration with this video. Just the suggestion of a reading chair in the bedroom encourages some relaxation time to read, write, listen to music or just be! Thanks for your support Suzie x
Thanks Susie, nice video and glad it was very inspiring for me as I’d love to have my bedroom look like a beautiful Hotel/ motel room. Makes it always relaxing and lovely to be in.😊
Hi Suzie 🙌 I’m a barber, hairstylist & massage therapist.- You inspired me on making ma future airbnb into a hotel & spa level 🙏 please one more video on spa interior design 🙏✌️

Hello Bonnie, thanks for sharing your hotel suggestion. What an historic hotel with so much charm! I'd love to enjoy a high tea there! Have a great weekend. Suzie x
Some of my favorite hotels are: The Sofitel Center City, Philadelphia; 7 Hotel, Quebec City; The Wyndham Hallmark Center, Kansas City; The Gaylord Opryland, Nashville; and The Kimberly Suite Hotel, NYC. All are well appointed and comfortable at a highly elegant level.
Thanks Suzie I love hotels as well .My most favorite hotel I stayed in was one in Prague it had a bit of a Bohemian touch along with old world charm of Prague. I also like the very different luxury style in Prague to that of hotels in Korea and China.
Love the contents of this video. Going now to watch the other video you recommended. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much that impresses me, close to anything you have shown.
Nice photos but if one is listening without staring at the screen the whole time it’s hard to understand what specifically each room presented makes the presenter particularly enamored with in the design. Paint color ?textures ?color of items in the room ? Integration? what is it in each room that you found makes this hotel effect worthy of copying or integrating in a home? Nice music good editing here.
Can you imagine how lengthy the video would be if Suzie included all you questioned? Probably best to take it or leave it, since it bothered you! Insults aren't welcomed.
Yes I’d be nice but in my world my main berm is 14long x 20 long and 8’ ceiling single male late 50s love Asian style have lots of prints and Knick Knacks , what would be best color I have 8’ sliding door natural light but have enclosed patio , love nutural color like white doors , trim soft to medium wheat walls , please help me with information how to make it happen please, thank you ❤
Hi Gene, unfortunately I am not in a position to offer personalised advice, as that is achieved through my styling services. I hope the videos provide some guidance for now xx
Hello Catherine, thank you for your feedback. I apologise, I was recorded this video in a different location than usual. Will ensure better quality next time! Have a great weekend. Suzie x
I agree with you. I love her videos but the problem is audio. I always have to put volume all the way up because it's so "quiet" then when an ad just pop up it's so deafeningly loud.
@@suzieandersonhome Thanks Suzie! Your videos are some of the best on UA-cam for those of us who can't get enough interior design. They're worth watching and re-watching even when the sound is a bit tinny! 🙂
Hello Ruth, how lovely to get your feedback...all the way from Arizona. So glad you enjoyed the floral arrangements. They are an elegant touch to any room! Have a beautiful weekend. Suzie x
Much as I enjoy seeing the beautiful decor ideas, the last place I would want to live in is somewhere that looks like a hotel. However gorgeous they look they're too perfect. You daren't sit on a chair in case you squash a cushion. And who really wants to put a coffee station in a bedroom? Back in the late 1960s some people has a teasmaid in the bedroom. This was a small gadget that woke you in the morning with a cup of tea. If you wanted a piece of toast you'd have to get that separately. It didn't last long, another passing fad. The whole point of having a home is having somewhere that looks nice, functions well but mostly makes you feel you can live life comfortably
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes it all comes down to personal preference. For those that live in a studio apartment there is a definitely appeal to streamlining like a hotel!! Glad you know your design preferences xx
Hello Anna, thank you for your feedback. Yes, I agree...I was not in my usual location so the recording was definitely not up to scratch. Will ensure better quality next video. Cheers, Suzie x
