Hello Suzie... Just moved into a New built Apt home. Attached garage...yard.. covered front porch,and covered, large patio with white pillars... Very high ceiling through out... so beautiful.. Feeling so blessed to live here and start a new interior.. bought a Hooker dresser today..fell in love with it...this video has my look completely ❤

The orchids are a riot of color right now in my house, truly beautiful. Haven’t found a good system for growing them without ugly plastic baskets holding the growing medium. Also checked out all the art on the walls for “elegance” and was surprised at the number of abstract pieces. Always interesting!
I believe part of the reason might be because a lot of people associate elegance with touches of ‘luxury’, and the contemporary style of abstract art fits within that. My preference is for landscapes and oil portraits but definitely love an eye catching abstract piece too! Xx

Elegance is about more than how a home, or a room, is curated. Although it is certainly that too. A friend of mine, I would certainly describe as elegant. In the way he speaks, how he dresses, and how he carries himself. But most importantly, it is about how he treats and interacts with the people in his orbit. Respectfully, cultured, inclusive, clever, warm and generous. Anyone that spends any time in his home is treated like royalty. I believe this kind of warmth is very intentional and mindful. Either way, it’s always a treat to be around him. Always.

Another exquisite video of sublime spaces and design. Elegance to me, is an understated, graceful and timeless quality or style, that is both aesthetically inviting and comfortable. A harmonious flow and balance for sure, with a touch of richness and luxury. A beautiful mirror, art piece and floor rug instantly add elegance and refinement to a room I think, also blending modern with classic and traditional, and never too much clutter! Regarding the linen fabric bed you mentioned it looks like a quality Egyptian cotton, you can often find similar styles at home decor stores or online retailers like Pottery Barn, or West Elm. In Australia we have large retailers like David Jones or Myer that stock a variety of brands. They usually have a good selection of linen fabric beds. I hope this helps! The problem is finding new quality furniture that doesn't fall apart; I have many vintage furniture pieces from the 20's-70's; my mother's designer told her to start buying classics in the 1970's time period as they were still making quality wooden pieces that would become heirlooms, and the way they make quality furniture would be coming to an end about that time. He was right.
You make such a great point! It's true that many vintage pieces from the 20s-70s were built to last, with craftsmanship and materials that stand the test of time. That is one of the many reasons I love investing in antique pieces. Your mother’s designer was right -those classics truly are heirlooms today. Investing in well-made vintage or timeless designs is a fantastic way to bring both quality and character into a home. xx
Hi Suzie, the time stamp for the stone stand is 5.49. It isn't the vase, but the stand and vases are on it. It is in the middle of the foyer next to curved wooden stairs. I think the font size on the text slides is too large. Unreadable. I try to never go over 26 pt font for text size. Any bigger leads to a headache for the reader and distracts from the overall quality of this fine presentation.
I appreciate art and color, so this is not my style design. Timeless to me means housing ART..never black, white, gray, tan.. Never use Builder's grade color palette..This reminds me of a waiting room in a legal building. It's huddled in the "safe zone"...good luck to you both.. OH..and never place mirrors in kitchens..

Most of the furniture and walls are white or beige. There are so many elegant colors. Disappointing.
Sorry but that was to me more of hotels . Not what I consider elegant.
