The stylish Eos is one the best looking coupe-cabriolets in its class. And now it has been improved with a redesign inspired by the latest Volkswagen Golf. Despite the new look, the Eos is still every bit as well built as before, and it still has its complex five-piece folding roof which effectively makes the Eos two cars in one -- a stylish hard top when the weather is bad, and a spacious open convertible when the sun shines.
With the roof down, there is plenty of head space in the back
I own a 2012 EOS engine noise is not a problem, the car will break loose the tires going into second (plenty of power) The trunk has room for a full size suit case and the rear seats fold down for more room "for golf clubs" Great Car I have had a lot of fun in it and folding down the roof is an eye catcher. LOVE IT
@Melanie C. Hi Melanie, yes we still own the VW EOS still runs great and I put a German made rubber treatment product on all seals on the roof. Still no leaks. Greg
Melanie I just thought of something else the 2012 EOS does Not have the timing belt it has a timing Chain so you don't have the cost of replacing that fricken belt

I love her. I could watch her review picnic baskets and still be happy. She just makes me smile.
Theres a lot of people critisizing her and probably dont realise that shes a racing driver and drives better than you ever could hope too
my mum got this one, in the same colour... it drives perfectly and there is enough room for me as well (195cm-6'4)
visibility is fine as well as trunk is big enough, so in overall, it is a good car

It seems that Rebecca has spent some time rehearsing with Mat. She no longer seems awkward in front of the camera, doesn't talk as if she's reading a template, and much more relaxed. Good job, Rebecca!
Why doesn't she know how to use the trunk capacity and she's making a video? The flap in the trunk that must be down to use the roof, clips back and up flush against the top surface of the trunk. If you pause the video and look carefully you can see two clips (one on the left, one on the right) along the top lip of the trunk. This is a foolish review. She misses a lot.
Cherry Bomb Yes the boot/trunk is much bigger than she makes out. Don't be put off by this guys, the EOS is a great car to drive and be in.
And the partition can be removed all together

Rebecca's feeling more comfortable now, and her reviews really benefit from it.

she is getting better. more upbeat too. i think it is now nice to have her and mat reviewing them. in fact, i think that her and mat should act as a couple when reviewing MPV's and SUV's
The cup holders for back passengers are on the bottom of the middle driver’s & front passenger middle thing

No it doesn't. The Eos is with a metal roof with a glass bit. The Golf has a cloth roof. I personally prefer the Eos because of the extra light that comes inside and for the better adverse weather capabilities and sound reduction of a metal roof.
Plus it isn't going to be easily slashed by some lout with a blade!

@boy638 I'd say the Eos makes the Golf Cabriolet irrelevant. I'd rather a hard top.
Ican image a roof down diesel convertible infront of disco with the nice diesel sound, stylish, classy and smoky.

As non English person, i have to say its much harder to listen to it with that strong British accent than the previous reviewer. Also i would like to know how long it takes to take the roof of and you "skipped" it :(

I can never get on with Valkswagen group cars, they are so boring :o( Nice review and you seem to be upto speed now, you look relaxed, your smiling and look natural presenting it :o)
She's a great reviewer! Good point about the glass in the hard top. Most hard tops feel cramped without it. I wasn't too keen on the looks though, the front end looks like it's from 1994! :S
i believe the eos is passat based so it should feel a bit wider and more mature on the road, well passat is golf based anyway... just stretched in all directions but there is some modifications to the chassis too for tolerating bigger loads
@ERK572 308 CC has the same interior as RCZ, and as Mat pointed out in the previous video it could give much more expensive cars a run for their money.
@ERK572 Yes I do remember that but that was totally down to his own height. I am 6ft 6inches tall and have no problems in the front of my 308, since the RCZ sits far lower down I wouldn't really know what it's like since I don't own one but I have sat in the RCZ and it feels very comfortable and engonomic. Although that could be because I do actually have long arms.
Well, engine noise is not a problem. That is what people thag loves car wants, to hear its engine.

I notice on a few of these reviews Matt and Rebecca mention air conditioning like it's an option. Does A/C not come standard on all cars in Europe?

God damn it, why does no one make a convertible that four adults fit in? I had a brand new wrangler unlimited 75th which had loads of rear room but was rubbish, but I mean a normal car? why do they even put these back seats in if there's no room. The only car so far I have found that has reasonable space in the back is the golf.
Harry O e550 or s550 convertibles can fit four full size adults perfectly fine.

@ERK572 Family experiences with VW haven't been good. The worst was a 06 Passat 2.0TDi, the electric handbrake always failed, the electrics were glitchy and the engine management system failed on a few occasions. Another prob was a 07 Golf TDi, with turbo/ flywheel & clutch problems. Also an 05 A4 2.0 TDI a family member owned had lots of mechanical probs. There has also been 3 other problematic VAG cars in the family. We have stuck with Pug & moved to Honda/ Toyota, no problems with them at all
I loved the old Eos...this one is just a convertible passat or jetta.
Why can't they retain some car outside of new design language.
and well...there was really no need to show the boot space :)

I haven't seen a overall positive review abt this car.
Does anyone have any idea how long does the soft top of golf cabriolet usually last?
Near where I live, a soft-top golf would last about a fortnight before being slashed!
the Golf is better in many ways... bigger boot, better handling, good space in the back and, amongst many other reasons: it has a sole. Either way, the Eos does look good with Rebecca in it.

Matt should review all the good cars and she should stick to doing the the Nissan Micra's and Smart cars that nobody watches.
It looks exactly the same with the Gold Cabriolet, or worse with the roof up. Also, the 16 inch alloys look too small to me. Great review nevertheless.

@ERK572 Yes, YOU don't find anything cool in a Peugeot but there must be plenty of people do since they are Europes 2nd largest car maker.. Personally, I started driving Peugeots when I bought a brand new 306 1.9 DTurbo in 1994 and it was a fantastic car so have owned 4 since that and I find them extremely reliable, cheap to run/ maintain and lovely driving cars since they are very comfortable on long journeys which I do all the time... My neighbour has owned 17 Pugs over the past 30 years!!
The eos is an eyesore with the roof on!

Woooh it is a CC coupe Convertible some info there are other cars that also create CC models. Not what I expect from a carbuyer review.

Volkswagen litearlly killed the Eos' sales by releasing the volkswagen golf cabriolet. Exactly the same interior and avaliable engines just one has a hard top which is not a great feature at all.
