Ab-Soul sent me here .❤
So cool that Ab-Soul sampled this
Here because of Ab-Soul so much music to be discovered. Pure magic. I'm grateful 🙏🏽
Me too fam. Crazy enough my favorite genre after hip hop is indie/alternative so I'm pretty pleased about this
@@KydBlake same!!
Listen to the live version you’ll be even more in love.
Same! I'm a new fan
@@MT-yx5cu Thanks for reminding me of this gem. 😁
Here after the Absoul sample🥺🥺❤️❤️
songs like this make life worth living
That really is the best way to put it.
Ab-Soul song "Do Better" brought me here.
The ending vocals @ 2:46 are so hauntingly beautiful and a great way to end the song. Almost sounds like the last thing you’d hear before peacefully transitioning 😇
I listened to this while driving through a naples sunset.. perfect paradise.
Hopefully you mean Italy and not Florida LOL 😮😢😂❤
why did this make me cry
I'm almost certain this song is about a young pregnant couple who chose not to keep the baby (who ended up being twins) because "someone said they ain't ready." But the part where he says "I admit inside me was fear I never wanted to show you" makes me wonder if HE was the one who said they ain't ready (in spite of wanting to start it with her). Which explains why he's so haunted. And this song SOUNDS haunted. It's so beautiful and disconcerting at the same time. Incredible art.
Feels more like its about a miscarriage tbh and the mourning and haunting that comes through that process
only a little detail, but it just feels like they both wanted the children, and that something out of their control happened to them
@@joshuaburke7606I wonder why he referred to them as green twins?
What yall don’t know is that it was inspired by a reoccurring dream he had of two green gelatinous babies getting ran over by a car. Man’s a mad genius
I watch life inside of you grow
Every month a little bit bigger
All the things that bothered your soul
Make me smile and go crazy
I wanted to start it with you
But somebody said we ain't ready
I admit inside me lives fear
Fear I never wanted to show you
They will always haunt my dreams
The green twins with your eyes
They will always haunt my dreams
The green twins with your eyes
We could've moved to LA
It's always sunny bright out there
If I had it my way
We woulda stayed where we started
I wanted to start it with you
But someone said we ain't ready
I admit inside me lives fear
Fear I never wanted to show you
They will always haunt my dreams
The green twins with your eyes
They will always haunt my dreams
The green twins with your eyes
I listened to this while on shrooms a few years ago. I was by myself laying on a bench and all above me were trees swaying in the summer wind. I felt real bliss at that moment
I'm doing that right now but I'm my house 🏠 🍄
S/O Ab-Soul the god for sampling this
Soul!

JaySaysWoof it’s really a banger... the whole album really!

3 years later and It’s still crack
I'll never stop loving this song.
Ab Soul brought me here
The forty people that gave this a thumb's down do not deserve thumbs.
Ab Soul first introduced me to this song, I could never find an instrumental to karaoke to this song so I made one on my channel. I always come back here cause the song is goated.
Can't get enough of this track!!
I GOTTA DO BETTER I GOTTA DO BETTER I GOTTA
GOTTA DO BETTER, I GOTTA DO BETTER, TODAY
This song is just perfect for sunset...
Sakura Voyage Oh gosh. Listen to his SoFar version. It's like orgasmic sex post-sunset.
been a big fan of both Nick and Ab Soul and i just realized this was the sample to Do Better. lol so crazy.
What a masterpiece!
This is the most dense sound I've heard in a long time.
I mean... I like it :)
you should listen to Jon Bap

the acoustic he does of this is next level (sofar London)
“I gotta do betta”
I love this song and album!
Tho, I’m not sure I’m 100% sure what exact topic the lyrics refer to, it’s bitter sweet how relatable they resonate with me so heavily; for a lot of different times and scenarios in my life...perfect song in my opinion. Complete and utter disregard for those 39 folks that thumbs downed this video, hoping they were just accidents lol..
I'm pretty sure this is about his woman losing their babies, either through miscarriage or abortion.
First off, let me just say fantastic job on this album Nick! First listen through this album I was blown away at the overall sound. Something you definitely don't hear very often. It's an incredible listening experience and I was moved throughout the entirety of this album. Lots of different elements from other genres came together perfectly for a mesmerizing trip. I love how mysterious sounding and experimental this album got. The overall timbre of the tracks and mastering on this album are phenomenal! Great mixed vibes from this one, and a must-listen album for anyone open to new ideas in music, music enthusiasts, and casual listeners alike. Great job to you and everyone involved with "Green Twins"! I can honestly say this by far is my favorite album of 2017 with my favorite track being "Needy Bees". Looking forward to more of your work in the future!!!
totally agree with you dude, this music is trippy, smoothy, soul-ish, inner and reflexive. One of the best casual listens i found on the amazing world od internet. Just got me at first, the whole album is absolutely fucking amazing. Keep on rockin dude
Damn, why am I just discovering this now? So great! Wonderful to hear something fresh.
Another fan acquired thanks to AB Soul
Here before he blows up, proud to discover this band

wow foouk i bn waaiting & its rly worth it o my God i cud cry
Hella love
Love!
I still prefer the acoustic version all day every day if only he had an extended version of that my life would be so much better
I hate to say it, but I agree with you. Just him & the guitar hits your soul
i always hear the chorus as "babies always haunt my dreams"
I think it's kind of meant to... I'm pretty sure the green twins with (her) eyes were babies he and his woman lost
Ab brought me here 🔥🔥
gorgeous
Time and temperature 👊🏾
yesssss
awesome
💚💚🔫🔫
Just heard on Huw Stephens' radio1 show✌🏻👍🏻
Ufffff, ¡I loved it! Perfect😍
The Marc Jacobs commercial introduced me to you:) love it
top notch , i love how soothing it is , but i just wish the guitar sounded louder like in the live version
I was already a Nick Hakim fan but I misplaced him. This is song is dope. The live version is better. One of my best friends put me on that this is the sample for Gotta Do Better by Ab-Soul.
Ab-soul's new song brought me here
❤
😍😍😍😍😍
that song evolved ! 😅
groooovy (:
Some Keith Rankin art...I dig
New fan thanks to Ab Soul bringing me here❤! What does "the green twins with your eyes" mean?
I think this is about miscarried or aborted children?
Nvm I’m completely wrong 🤣
“Green Twins” came out of a dream he had three times in a row: “We were walking down the road in [Jamaica Plains] and two little green babies were running around the sidewalk. There was a crash behind us. As we walk away, we look back and the twins had been run over by a car. The babies were made out of some green Jello texture.”
@@blizzymizzylol.. ohhh, was that from an interview?
لا اله الا الله
Had the whole album saved on Sound Cloud. Now it's not available in Canada... :'(
this was one of the tracks i had on hand for my first shroom trip, my goodness
Reminds me of my son with the green eyes!😪
Good graphics 👍🏻
Omg I’m soo mad, why put off on Spotify !! Literally I love him !!! 😒😒😒😒😒😒😩😩😩😩
1:00
although i slightly favor the acoustic version. i really really really like this.
Sounds like Sugar Candy Mountains - Windows
What genre is this music? Lo-fi chill? Jazz?
Raihan Purboyo lofi psychedelic soul
Jizz Jazz
Lo-fi neo-Shuggiesque psychedelic soul. (As in the Shuggie Otis of 1974's "Inspiration Information" LP.)
Amazing
Indeed it sounds beautiful, this genre is a mystery , i hardly find similar stuff but i do it is such a joy
“This edible is trash”

yo
Why have I only just heard of this guy? Was so weary of the relentless flood of mediocrity on 6 Music and then GIlles Peterson (it usually is GP) opened my ears again.
this song smells like guacamole
My Replika has some good suggestions.
I gotta do better - Ab-Soul
Jaywoods sent me here
I think you all will like NICHOLAS ALLBROOK's 100 k's 'round Carmel
what happend to these guys they use to be legends but now they have changed all I can do is hope they return to their former glory
Am here because of Ab Soul
Am I'm the only one that has eargasm?
Um
I think I favor the acoustic version...
the opposite is true for me. his voice is gorgeous
I think there is more emotion in his voice in the acoustic. There's something more raw and real about it with the intonation and emphasis in different words. To me, the extra background music covers up the beauty of that. Maybe this version will grow on me.
Oh i agree! The acoustic version definitely brings out his voice more but i feel like this version captures the idea and feel of the song perfectly. That cinematic feel is hard to recreate acoustically, in my opinion.
i definitely agree. the production IMO is kinda distracting. Its easier to get lost in the song when it's his voice and a guitar alone.
I think both versions serve a purpose. I will sit and watch the acoustic version from time to time, but riding along in the car I will be jamming to this studio version no doubt. Nick is incredibly pure yet versatile with his voice. Each version he is feeling his way through it, almost exploring. This way his live performance can still be an elevation or exploration of the recorded idea (version).
Ok pero Namjoon la recomiendo

I GOTTA DO BETTER !!
Gotta do better
Gotta do better today
