Agreed. Attended the gig in Manchester last month. Loved most gigs i’ve ever been too, but this was different. Genuinely felt i was in the presence of greatness, i was not worthy!
One million percent this. Same for me on Radiohead's Daydreaming. First time I listened to that, it was on a hike up a glacier. Song's outra happened at the top. Closest I've ever been to a feeling of pure transcendence.
I feel lucky to still get to witness Yorke and Greenwood collaborate and put out new music. There aren't many artists putting out something this great over 30 years into their career. I don't care if it isn't Radiohead, it's The Smile and it's fantastic.
I was 13 when Pablo Honey came out and I've been extremely blessed to have them furnish with me exquisite music on a regular basis ever since. Not quite the soundtrack to my life...but not far off at all.
Beautiful performance, I just don’t understand why the cinematographer decides to barely show Jonny at all while he’s taking a huge solo towards the end. He’s ripping it and they flash him on screen for like one second. Frustrating.
It’s like that one live for radio performance from the The Bends era when in the video recording of it, there are no cameras on Jonny during his solo. Fucking criminal
@@omarvalle1808 They always said a rock band doesn't work with orchestra or something to that effect. But they also said they didn't want to be a rock band so I dunno
I feel like its because Radiohead is so good and what they are expected to do and their quality of music has been so ingrained into their fans that making music in a separate band gives him a sense of freedom or something idk.
@@jacksonwaldonplus i think bending hectic is one of the most beautiful songs ever thom and jonny made together. It always gives me goosebumps. Such a beautiful songs!! Especially Live!! This was such a beautiful performance and such great moment!
just when you think this song cant get any better, they add an orchestra! amazing. this was their last song when they played in Austin, and it was incredible to experience it live.
I absolutely love THE SMILE...but RADIOHEAD will always be my favorite of all time...much love much respect (for both) Radiohead shows are great...now i really wish i could see THE SMILE live...
If you have something to say...say it now. That line brakes my heart. Just imagine going off a cliff and looking at the person sitting next to you and realizing you are both going to die within seconds....omfg 😢😢😢😢
I steal this comment from another video of Thom Yorke -its the best written about him: „I think that every child at the age of ten should be given the entire works of Radiohead with a note that says,“Listen and understand, this songs will tell you everythink you need to know about what you will feel and go through for the rest of your life and you will realize that you aren‘t the only person who feels like this“
I think if i would really wanted and pushed ,worked myself with a hard kick on my backside , maybe my spine wants to join me , Smile would probably/ certainly trying ....put to hear clear ...yeahh i think it would be , giving an overall experience which i need and appreciated ...
Jonny Greenwood and Thom Yorke are the most important musicians of our era. Like Lennon and McCartney in 60s and 70s. Love them.
I don’t know. I love them, but I think Tom Waits and Bjork are contenders for musician of the whole era as well
nah jonny and thom only compared with lennon and macca @@matthewsaul3533
I completely agree ❤

@@matthewsaul3533 What era are you talking about?
The definitive live version of this song, so so so good.
these outros always make me feel like I just finished a hike and I reached the most beautiful vista in the world
Beautiful sentiment….!
Music is life’s most majestic thing
It means so much to so many in a multitude of Way’s Globally….🫶🏼

This song is incredible. Wall of Eyes is easily a contender for album of the year
i'd go further, album of the decade so far.
Um.. we’re only on month 3 of the year lol a bit early to say such a thing, no?
If suede don’t release a new album there’s always a chance.
@@simonwilliams567 it's good but nowhere near that level
Only just March lol x

radiohead formed in 1985 lol so kinda 40 years

Please, please, upload the whole concert.
Literally begging you BBC please
It's on iPlayer (if you're in the UK).
@@jakelewis8440 except they cut 6 songs from the encore on the iplayer recording :/
The bbc literally ruin everything . Where did the Paul McCartney at glasto videos go?
For the sake of humanity lol
Jonny is a genius - just recovering from Alexandra Palace and will be spending this morning bending the G string at around the 13th to 11th frets.
Beautiful performance, I just don’t understand why the cinematographer decides to barely show Jonny at all while he’s taking a huge solo towards the end. He’s ripping it and they flash him on screen for like one second. Frustrating.
It’s because he’s a hologram and they didn’t want to give the game away!
That's a pattern throughout this whole live. Greenwood does something otherwordly, the camera's anywhere but on him. Such a pity
It’s like that one live for radio performance from the The Bends era when in the video recording of it, there are no cameras on Jonny during his solo. Fucking criminal
Thom fully strumming the bass during the outro was truly a sight to behold!
Just stumbled across this while flicking through the tv channels…..utterly incredible and now on repeat repeat repeat.
best song of 2024
Y mejor versión
Imagine a full Radiohead concert with an Orquestra.... It would be wonderful to hear Pyramid Song with Strings ❤❤❤
Yeah but this is not Radiohead this is The Smile
@@tigersteffi Yes I know but I mean that Radiohead have never play with an Orquestra and that would be wonderful

One word:
DAMN.
Great crescendo on this track. A beauty
So fucking cool and refreshing to see Jonny shredding again :')
6:19 those guys are the right feeling everytime i listen to this song, hell yes
This outro sounds like a panic attack with the orchestra. I love it.
A panic attack, beautifully describing the feeling about this I hadn't placed
Bestial, enorme, maravillosa, te dan años de vida éstos pedazo de músicos
Saw this on the livestream and was blown away. Thank you! 🙏

genuinely the best song by ANYONE from the post-covid era.
😂😂😂😂
Lol, what?! 😂
The post-Covid era
Of course not, mate
Well we’re not exactly post Covid. People are still dying from it. But personally, I think wall of eyes is a much better song than this one
El manejo de los tiempos y cadencia son una maravilla. Gracias The Smile.
A live version with the strings??? yes please
Was @ the Dublin gig unbelievable ❤
Orchestra there? Im going to the Birmingham gig next week.
Perfection.
Esta versión en vivo es una maravilla
What a performance!
1.45 the way those strings glide in, never felt goosebumps like it 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
X2
Those strings sliding in, alongside their crescendo into the outro, are the purest forms of frisson I’ve ever experienced.
These guys has demostrated that they can do whatever they just want
I hope what Thom & Jonny will never stop writing and perfoming music
Bending Hectic's 2nd half reminds be a LOT of the 2nd half of "The Diamond Sea" by Sonic Youth (one of their heroes).
phenomenal
This is not just a song, it is an experience. Few songs can get you into a deep trance.
The strings 🎻🤯
just when you think this song cant get any better, they add an orchestra! amazing. this was their last song when they played in Austin, and it was incredible to experience it live.
Despite these slings, despite these arrows i forced myself to turn, turn……🤯

Top 5 Yorke/Greenwood song! How is Johnny doing the slide in the riff? Just from bending the string?
