Think you could convince someone to take a right to the solar plexus from Tony Jeffries for a street fighting episode? That's the crossover we all need
I always love how you're a full blown karate black belt and instructor but your demeanor and channel is that of a person just getting into martial arts and finding the passion for it. That kind of mentality is really important
ooh, I haven't checked out or heard of Fran Sands, I'll have to add it. For technique I usually follow Precision Striking, Tony, and Fighttips, for general advice I do the same + Hard2Hurt, and for work outs I follow along Natebower Not to say any of these guys aren't good or bad at any particular thing, just that I prefer their videos for specific things that I do. And of course Sensei Seth because he makes good all around content.
World Class Boxing with Tom Yankello is the underground goat for practical boxing instruction (others are good too, i been folowing JT forever but Tom blew my mind when I discovered how well he covers the sweet science)
Stop playing Coach Jeffries is one of my favorite UA-cam Coaches! His energy, knowledge and explanation are on point. I also watch Sensei Seth on Hard to hurt channel. This is really good to see one teacher learning from another teacher to improve his skill set. Good for the MA community to see. Sharing the knowledge man! 👏🏾👏🏾🔥
I mentioned this on a tkd specific video. I grew up in a very urban area doing tkd. Because of my surroundings boxing was crazy prevalent in the fighting world. Also in my geographic area Philly shell is the predominant style. As a result our school had this tkd Philly shell hybrid style of guard n hands. It was nothing but a benefit in matches.
Love these colabs! Seth is a true martial artist. Always looking for new ways to improve and seeking out the best in every discipline to teach him. He's basically the protagonist in a Kung Fu movie. 😂
I had a boxing coach who was also in the military. Think of the jab in terms of fire-and-maneuver. If you've got a good jab, move behind it, just like soldiers lay down covering fire for each other. Movements within striking range should be covered with a quick jab. Even if it's not thrown for power, it blocks their vision for a moment.
Love the video! Coach Jeffries reminds me of the Coach who taught me boxing. Loosening shoulders and hips can help anyone of any style. Shoulders, especially. It cuts down on the flaired elbows in the guard shell.
Long guard is just like taekwondo/karate guard. Tony Jeffries explains why we do what we do in karate/tkd. There's lots of feinting in ITF TKD. He explains why we do it. Knowing WHY we do something is awesome. It makes us better. That, Tony Jeffries, he's a really good instructor. This is great UA-cam content. Thanks Seth.
It's a really pleasant suprise to see you making videos with Tony. I've been watching both your channels for a while and you are both great at what you do. I feel like I'm getting honset advice and information from you. A great team up, thanks for the video.
The thing I found interesting from the sparring session was some of those jabs seemed like they were hybrid of Tony Jeffries tutelage and the type of jabs you used from when you took the fencing class.
Good stuff! Doing karate kata, we're always taught to keep our head steady, so that the opponent doesn't see you coming as easily, but of course movement between those times is necessary as well.
Honestly your the only one doing this kind of work going to other gyms and being dynamic with the styles I respect you homie and I will comment, share, like and subscribe from now on!
This is an amazing video for all, there are always stuff we can work on, no matter how long we have trained, especially the most simple basic, there is always a way to sharpen it up. Time for me to do so as well on my jab.
I watched this on Friday night then tried it in sparring on Saturday. I was landing the jab all the time which then meant everything else landed as well. Brilliant, thank you for this, will definitely look at his channel now.
This is like when two mutual friends finally meet and get on like a house on fire. Great video. Now tI want so see Seth, Tony, Jesse Encamp and hard2hurt fight it out in a battle royale. With Ramsey Dewey as the ref.
The problem we karate guys have is everything is a straight or reverse punch. So when we jab we just don't jab but focus from the ground through the hips into the strike.. more powerful but intrinsically slow..
Cleannnnn. This is what you need and lots of other kickboxers. Kick boxing isn’t eh hands and good kicks. Hands are the base for setting up your kicks and the tone of the fight. Really learn boxing well that u can depend on just boxing then add in all your kicks and mix it up. That’s deadly. Never seen your spars look like this. Do more videos boxing with Jeffries skill will go 📈
A great technique I learned for straight punches in general is to practice throwing them with your shoulder against a wall. This way, you will not flare your elbows and your fist will travel in a straight line. Obviously more advanced jabbing will involve slight angle changes and directional movement but its a great way to master the basics.
@@juangreyson3660 yes you bring it 60-70% the way you throw a teap but just like you turn your fist last second turn your hip last second, it’s like throwing every kick as a question mark kick without the pause and dramatic movement
What a great experience for you! Definitely good training! Anytime you can improve your boxing is worthwhile training. My dream is to train with Benny "the Jet" Urquidez as I followed him and read his book which helped me a lot when I was competing.
So few know of this - This back foot jab is one of 2 jabs. The Traditional jab the set up to the rear hand is off the front foot, shifting weight to the back foot. All rear hands off the kicking off jab shift little weight and most the power is from muscle rather than shifted weight
You were not trained by just a former olympic boxer. Lets take our time and acknowledge that Tony Jeffries is a bronze medalist olympic boxer, former undefeated professional, 7 times national champion and european champion!
Turning good jabs into great jabs! Well done brother
-"I don't think you'll punch me in the face.."
-👀
Seth has come to the right person.
you'll only get true explosiveness from running up Penshaw Monument though.
This is the crossover we all didn’t know we needed🔥
Whoa this is crazy. 2 youtubers that I follow, randomly do a video together. I had no idea yall knew each other!
One of the few good boxing coaches that also knows how to make a good youtube video... dude gave you everything you need on two fronts.
Think you could convince someone to take a right to the solar plexus from Tony Jeffries for a street fighting episode? That's the crossover we all need
Hard2wat??
Yeah the others don't have your vast professional experience lmao
Seth is by no means bad, but having them do the same thing side by side shows how insanely good Tony is
So many levels up. Insane.
I was watching mine, being like “oh that looks pretty good…” then I saw him do it 😂
@@SenseiSeth keep your feet together man, I literally tied a shoe string around my ankles when I was getting used to moving around
Muscle memory through repetition that’s how it’s done
@@R1chAsshole That's only good advice in pure boxing

Yes indeed
@@jestfullgremblim8002😮😂😢🎉😊
No he is a rainbow belt
Tony Jeffries, precision striking, and Fran Sands have to be my top 3 boxing channels on UA-cam as far instruction and fundamentals go

Coach Anthony is another great page for boxing
McLeod boxing channel, no talking just demos and examples
Tony is so great man. Love seein you guys train together.
Had a great time!
From a karate guy's perspective, this just goes to show how much there is to learn from other styles of combat. Top video and top boxing teacher!
Lol “No, I will punch you in the face” 😂
It's always good to add boxing skills to your karate. One thing boxers know how to do is move while punching using great footwork
Boxing footwork is soo awesome but its also hard to master when i try my feets gets tied sometimes 😂
One of the best boxing coaches from Sunderland England

I grew up on the NJ shore, so I know what you are talking about.
Incredible, practical, thorough instruction of the jab. Gem of a collab.
Love these colabs! Seth is a true martial artist. Always looking for new ways to improve and seeking out the best in every discipline to teach him. He's basically the protagonist in a Kung Fu movie. 😂
One of biggest problems is to relax and keep loose when doing punching and keeping guard, even more so when not use to martial art. Well done.
It is such a joy to see a pro move like Jeffries does. Seems so effortless, takes decades to achieve.
It's really awesome seeing more collabs berween you and Tony, Seth! 👏🥳💖

True! Being told this early on helped me a lot. It even helps to get in to use my grappling and to stop the people that want to throw to much stuff
Boxing nicknames here we come! Strapping Seth Adams! 🤣🥊💪
Bro this is crazy. I never did karate but I love your channel, I'm a boxer. Seeing this crossover makes my heart melt. Love you bro
Came here for jab techniques. Received a bunch of tactics, strategy and training methods. This video is priceless! Thank you!
Love the video! Coach Jeffries reminds me of the Coach who taught me boxing.
Loosening shoulders and hips can help anyone of any style. Shoulders, especially. It cuts down on the flaired elbows in the guard shell.
Great work, Tony's channel is wonderful to watch - he did a recent really good boxing warmup and stretch, it's my go-to before a training session

You guys collaborating is a great contribution!!🎉
Really cool videos with Tony. Love it. Glad you had the opportunitiy, and filmed it for us.

I love seeing that you're putting in the work and we can see improvement through each step... thanks for the video!
Two nice people making an educational video. Keep them coming.
Wow, I recently discovered Tony since I started boxing and home for cardio, nice to see you guys collab
Seth is such a legend. Bringing all the martial arts creators together.
Oh yeah your jab 100% looked more amazing by the end
For sure!
He deserves a Gold Medal in Teaching.
Thanks you both for this amazing video.
I love this. You seem to get all my favorite fighting channels together.
Your humility is so admirable, Seth.
Seth is making some banger videos lately
I would love to see you do more with Tony. Both of you guys are humble but know your craft. Tony seems like he would make a world class instructor.
Absolutely love the video brother!!! Awesome!!!

Tony Jeffries is the Number One!!
Hey coach Jeffries Great instructions as usual, you cut all the red tape and nonsense and get to what works and we appreciate that!
Respect your humility to listen and learn. The best leaders are the ones who know when to follow.
Great collab Seth, I'll definitely implement this in sparring.

You can do the same thing with round kicks to mask your round as a front kick/teap
@@scottjohnson926 so do you keep your leg against the wall so it looks straight, and then rotate through?
To keep the elbow in we only turn the fist at the last second. Stops it flaring out when throwing the punch
