    I've just started up a project on the same car (but with the black and yellow boss paint job), so I'll probably be watching these videos a lot over the next few months

      @@AutoEdits Little detail, but I haven't been able to figure out the weight of my Mustang's hood. What hydraulic struts would you recommend for it?

    Took your advice and got the Flaming River tilt column and power rack & pinion system for the 67 Mustang project - so far everything is working out as expected - keep up the great how to videos

    I'm not a massive fan of the wheel but on the whole this car does not get the attention it deserves. It's refreshing to see someone wrench on something other than a 64-70 mustang/chevelle etc.

    Can't wait to see the rest of the car come together! Do you have a timeline or is it just going to be done when it's done?
    The videos of your '82 camaro brought me to your channel but your other content is great too. Wish you had done a series like this one on the 'maro. Happy building!

      It's tough to say when at this point because of work but lots of work helps pay for this whole shindig! I'm hoping to have it running in January or February and then figure out the rest.

    Hey man, im having some trouble after dropping the column down on my 71 mustang to remove the dash for paint. After setting everything back in place, the wheel ignition cylinder lock disengages, but the wheel locks in place when turning right but not left. After getting frustrated for a bit I yanked the column backwards and the wheel now turns freely but I now have a massive amount of slack in the column. I then set it back in place and the wheel locks again when turning right. Could it be a rag joint issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And its amazing seeing how much the channel has grown over the years, remember watching you since I was a kid haha. Im now 18 and own a salvaged jk 2 door that ive built up, and a 71 fastback.

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  2 роки тому

      "since I was a kid" LOL!!! Thanks dude! Seems like you need to make sure everything is clocked correctly. If you don't have the steering box centered when you install the wheel... it will seem off. Plus the key lock in the column has a center to it as well. Take some time and re-install with everything dialed and you should be good.

    That aluminum coloum mount, is it actually in the stock position height? It looks down a bit.
    I will be installing my new fr column in my 81 Camaro, and I'm torn between your style mount and the "factory" style for 2" fr coloums, which also you need the original factory style cage bracket that goes around and bolts to the Part #: FR20300 bracket made by fr.

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, it's stock height. Fits right up to the gauge cluster like it's supposed to.

    Are these new replacement steering columns collision safe , i.e. do they collapse in the event of a collision ?

    • @AutoEdits
      @AutoEdits  2 місяці тому

      They make a collapsible version if that is a concern for you.
