Billy is one of the most gifted drummers within their entire scene
Gil was my favorite
DtC but Dillinger is basicly the only band within their scene...
@Laust that's immensely false
Only because Penny laid the tracks...
Prince Ikel lol this is from One Of Us Is The Killer and Chris Pennie certainly did not track or write the drums for that. He hasn't "laid down" the tracks for Dillinger since Ire Works
How can a band play such a monstrous song live? How do you even rehearse something this insane? The first time I heard Prancer I couldn't stand it, i couldn't process it....but some sort of shrapnel got stuck in my brain and I had to give it a second try, then a third. It's now one of my favorite songs. These guys are very, very insane in a very good and necessary way.
They don't rehearse, they have ascended
DEP is just another band I can't seem to get enough of. Took me a while to get into each album they put out but they're one of the bands that are worth a couple more listens. That's how I know I'm gonna love a band more than any other, as a matter of fact. Same thing happened when I first listened to Deafheaven's "Sunbather", Elder's "Lore", Cult Leader's "Lightless Walk" and so on and so forth, but now I'm a huge fan of these bands (yep I know, not the same type of agressive music :D )
thanks for the suggestions!
for heavy ones id suggest seeyouspacecowboy's first two albums
(they might have only done 2 so far but considering this video is 4 years old im futureproofing)
and Fear Before The March Of Flames (iirc they have changed the name to Fear Before and are leaning more towards their emo sound)
Yeah that’s the thing about dep. You definitely have to give them a few chances. Their music is wild and different, it’s a far cry from typical rock or metal, and if you don’t go in with that mindset, you’ll probably be very taken back by it. That being said, once you listen to them a few times, it all starts to come together. They’re honestly geniuses and probably imo one of the greatest bands of all time, even though they’re a very niche style.
I felt the same with neurosis locust star, first you say wtf then you just love it
Greg: *deep breathe* *long pause* 'how could it.. *adds video to favourites*
Oh the accuracy
Now this is how you mix!
I would like to compliment the mixing engineer that worked this! Fantastic job!
And whoever was running lights
It's great hearing bass in a Extreme Metal context. It's almost always buried regardless of genre
PLEASE UPLOAD THEIR WHOLE PERFORMANCE,THIS IS BEYOND PHENOMENAL, BEYOND LEGENDARY!
hats off to the sound guys!
After their show I decided to get their logo tattoed. People have said I would regret this, but i'm still waiting for that very day
four of the best minutes of my life, this was the best set I've ever seen in person by far
- my thoughts after their performance in europe, 2015
Wojciech Kopański definitely the most intense set, and from what I've seen they're flat out with consistency at every gig
+Wojciech Kopański A ten chuj z roku na rok głos ma coraz lepszy .
Love the profile pic, bro! :)
first time of the few times i ever did acid was seeing Dillinger live for the first time and with with Greg screaming in my face at one point, it was a nice experience
For the songs to be as chaotic as they are, the band to be as head banging as they are, shows how on sync they actually are...
Fucking love Jedi Greg!
Fuck yeah!
How the fuck does Ben play while moving like that? Whenever I start to ru around on stage, a start fucking things up
Right? It's insane. Watch their video from Hellfest 2003. When you see these guys live, you should probably stay a good 30' from the stage unless you want a headstock or a boot to the face.
Saw them live, right up front. Caught Ben's ass with my head. Magic night.
Dillinger is a live show experience like no other. The first time I saw them was back in 2012 and they actually went so crazy they broke a lotta shit and the venue didn't let them come back LMFAO. Best believe they came back to my city, just had to play different venues lol xD
I have to watch this performance at least once a day because this shit is insane!
2:52 to 3:06 OMFG Ben
Absolute madness. I'm so so bummed I never got to see them live before they called it quits!
April 2024, New York, reunion show w/Dimitri on vocals, playing Calculating Infinity
God damn, this is definitely one Greg's better performances.
fuck yeah . 0:49
I saw them headline Summer Slaughter and they were absolutely this good!
They never get old.
1:15 Ben hates Orange...
it was a nice kick, though
I miss the chaos at shows 😪
The better live sound of all performances of DEP. I like It!!!
kickass footage and mixing. Awesome!
Great mix and fantastic edit. Legend of a band.
This giv3s m3 s0 much anxiety that I need to hear it louder to hear the words so I can sleep again
where is the whole set??? you must have it?? this is the dog nuts as well
great recording !
holy fuck they nailed that
wow this sounds like old DEP. great stuff
I still get full og emotions when listening to this... What a band👌🎄🔫♥️♥️♥️♥️🔫
Did anbody notice that ben kicked over his cab?
The best
Tom Hardy on vocals
@Guilherme Teixeira, Ha ha. Brilliant! We know who'll play him if a film gets made, eh?
@@paulgreen2401 Absolutely
gets nervous bc i like upstrokes and metal people talking about playing all downstrokes
...well what did dillinger do? 😊 glad to see obviously picking wont be a barrier to sounding heavy
Wake me up when the real music starts.
dat was sick
ok, so they can do that live. Cool
Fucking so good
Greg sounds different here, reminds me of Karl from Earth Crisis 20 years ago. I like it.
i just love 23 second ads
MATH
In a weird way I’d say Dillinger are way more in the vein of punk than metal. A lot of their music isn’t actually that heavy. They’re very much a midrange band.
They're like an incredibly chaotic and harsh punk band.
@Samuel Noble, True. Dillinger's barrage is a result of tightness, surprise, and dissonance, with ferocious vocals snarling around the sharp hail.
Like Nine Inch Nails, they knew how to temper an abrasive sound for maximum impact.
Shut up
just wanna chime in and say yeah they play most of their songs in standard. good neighbour being the only one i know in drop d off the top of my head. more frantic than heavy :D
I always considered them to be a Hardcore band which is a mixture of Metal and Punk. They even started their career within that scene to later become their own entity. Though I would still say they stayed true to those roots by keeping that violent and chaotic energy alive.
If you are into that type of sound, you will definitely find more similar sounding bands within Hardcore. However it is such broad genre, for example both Turnstile and Vein.fm are considered Hardcore bands and yet they sound completely different.
It is is possible that you upload the drum cam footage? I'd pay to see that!
Thumbs up just for the Oceanic PP
Is it just me or gregs screams have changed quite a bit?
They're not as low and abrasive when compared to the recordings, but I feel that he probably adjusts his technique while performing live to retain his voice
It sounds to me like his vocal chords are a little tired or worn here. Less fine control.
HOW COULD IT ALL 🅱️
Carvalho muito foda 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Did Ben have a much just for the purpose of backing up "F you?"
is that damian murdoch on second guitar?
Hold me closer, tiny prancer...
What is this type of hoodie called that Greg is wearing??
hoodie
A Jedi Knight robe
FOR ME TO FUCKING EAT HAHAHAHA
quaLITY shit
What's wrong with Greg's vocal?
+No name required He sounds fucking raw and incredible. Better than on record.
Fairly sure this is the opening song, usually vocalists who don't run extensive warm ups do a shotty job. A lot of people trash his past live vox, rightly so with the stage acrobatics, but over time he seems to have built that stamina and multitasking ability.
To clarify, I'm saying the other footage from this same show has better vocals. It's on this channel.
The guitarist to the right kinda looks like pewdiepie
Screaming Hipsters. I don't see any of them biting the heads off of live bats... Wait... they were with Mastedon? I might just take that all back...
those graphics at the start ruined the video, pathetic!
Yeah, how dare they include the names of the band and the people who filmed and produced the video? Those assholes.
Absolutely nothing was happening at the time and it was a wide angle shot.
you have no grasp on art then, i feel bad for you
Honest Abe I'm sorry sir, I didn't realize you were an expert. Carry on.
rofl
Singer is just terrible
Dudes a legend...
los mejores
They don’t really have any regard for physics do they
43'rd like
heh
Thank you for making me do the chuckle
I seen Ben jump from a support before, shit was insane
The sad thing is I will never get to see them live
It is entirely true but I give you a down vote because I am reminded of this fact as well...
wait are they done ?
they are unique hiw the hell they done , they have their own game
Alex Sternberg me too
Been listening to them for years but never saw them live👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
@@marcotejada1498 Also ... any videos you see really don't do their live shows any justice. Best band ever.
I remember catching Dillenger when they opened for NIN and it was just a handful of people watching the set...sucks for them because they missed out.
I must have seen the same tour - caught them at COTA several years back and they opened at 7pm in broad daylight while the place was 80% empty and everyone was just getting beers and talking. Of course they rocked the place, they never don't, but it was just such a huge waste of talent
@@TroyWarr1980 Yeah it was summer 2014 and yeah it was a real waste, but at least I got to see them and it so nice seeing them with that little of a crowd.
I saw them open for Soundgarden(2nd to last show before Chris passed) and I’m pretty sure I was the only one there that was enjoying it lol.
my throat hurts just listening to this
Most bands like this use voice distortion...including DEP
@@smackthatfemale They clearly dont, and a minor bands do.
If it hurts your throat to sing, you're doing it wrong. I bet this singers throat feels just fine. Singing in this style is a technique that takes time and practice to do properly.
Yeah no distortion over here. And yeah man shit does hurt my chords just listening but its gold
My ears hurt.. Greg is a terrible singer... vocalist.. or w/e you want to call his style. No matter how hard I tryed to make myself like this band, he is what ruined it for me lol.
I would like to thank the gentlemen for sacrificing their cervical spines for our entertainment. Brilliant job, lads.
The level of energy in this performance is phenomenal...
This sounded awesome. Best live video of dillinger when it comes to quality.
It's offensive how good these guys are.
one my ear gauges got ripped off at one of their shows, it was fucking awesome.
lol
The cardio these guys have x_X
Man, Dillinger always give me a workout when dancing to their music.
now i know why i allways loved spazz....its the same, just a littpe more math and 20times longer🤣 its bloody fantastic ❤️
Top 3 band for me, they are so fucking good dude, everything they do. Mathcore is my favourite sub genre of metal, incredible music.
Big same brother!
so fucking FUCKING GOOD. WHY D'YOU NEED AN ANSWERRRRR? hmmmmMMMM?
the kids nearly tore down webster hall in NYC when they played this LOL, what is so strange is it was so violent yet you felt the love all around you
So a metal show?? lol
Wow what a fuckin show ! \m/
insane
it's the only true form of music, how could you go anywhere else ... ? =P
My fucking god.
Why do all the band members look like hipsters that would be really into craft beers.
Because they probably are
tf is with the grim reaper hood?
Why he scream? He pain?
Wow.... this is breathtaking. And by that I mean it sucks so hard, it literally creates a vacuum that robs all oxygen from my inside bits.
that sucks bro
Exactly
Your name is Jedediah, that sucks
