You need to Actually sauter your mass air flow sensors Wires together. Those cheap connectors Are changing the resistance Through the wire. The right load isn't going through Those connectors Even if you twist the wires together And then slide the crimpers over it It will still change the load. You need to Actually sauter Those wires together Get rid of those connectors altogether and Cover the wires with heat shrink Tubing. I have a Toyota RAV4 With the same motor I am wanting to BOOST Which is how I found your video Same motors different vehicles. But I've had the same problem with the mass air flow before Turned out It was because I was twisting and crimping wires. If you can Just get a new plug for the end of your wires To replace the original one and you have to Use the wire the way you are You really need to Actually soder the wires together. Otherwise it changes the Impotence or ohm load Just enough To cause a problem It will never read right It's causing resistance in the wires. Rather you twist them together or use butt connectors It's just not a good enough connection.
Mine does it too it's at the donut gasket exhaust probably got cocked funny now the bolts in the flange are cocked in the flange causing it to rattle because of the springs on the bolts

@@ShaneVlogss unfortunately that means build costs are way up there. no builds means no parts readily available. doesn't help that there's no aero parts to improve that hideous front end.
What kind of exhaust are you running? I have a 2AZ-FE with a turbo, the turbo flutter sounds almost exactly like this but I have a stock brz exhaust and honestly I can only hear the motor and can’t really hear anything from the exhaust, I checked for an exhaust leak and everything seems fine, so I’m thinking of getting a catback exhaust and maybe removing the catalytic converter to make it louder
I’m about to get an 02 camry with a rebuilt 2az-fe myself so this is some nice inspiration for sure. How reliable is it with the turbo though; I’m going for reliability over power for this car first.
Sickkk , so for me because i cut corners my motor got hurt vey early in the process around 13k miles , but i know people that have there built 2azfe for over 50k miles , as long as it built well and you have a great ecu with a good tune you would be solid with reliability as long as you don’t beat on the car and jsit cruse it and do regular oil changer
Sounds like your having a voltage drop or something from the battery to the starter. What size wires did you use and where did you mount the battery? What are you tuning with? Are you running a clamp for the maf? I got a boosted 2011 on a aem fic with 750cc injectors at 12lbs with no issues. That’s a big ass turbo btw does it seem like it lags a lot?
thanks i really need help with this, so first off i relocated the battery to the trunk. the wires provided were 0 gauge wire for both negative and positive cables. i am tunung with the greddy e manage blue, and what do you mean by clamp? i have the maf sensor connected to the charge pipe bolted in.
ShaneVlogs a maf clamp is a voltage clamp that limits what voltage the Ecu sees. Air flow through the stock system gives a different reading than a 2.5” smooth charge pipe so you would need to limit the voltage readings through the rpms and into boost in order for your Ecu to not try and take control of your air fuels and cause drivability and stalling issues. I believe the aem fic and haltech units are the only piggybacks with a clamp. As for the not starting I’m gonna put my money on the battery wire setup. If you measure voltage at the starter and maybe even Ecu when cranking I bet your getting a huge drop. Maybe do a video on how you set up the battery/wiring and I can check it out.
I have to see when i get off of work today but i think i found the issue, my begitave terminal on my battery was super loose Ki can wiggle it around and take it on and off with ease , i tightened it all the way before i whent to work this morning and started my car and it stared first try, also I’m hoping that was my problem with the mass airflow sensor voltage as well
Yeah you can definitely turbo it, the price depends on if you get a custom manifold /inteocoller but depending on the turbo (eBay/ or real brand turbo) will factor as well but if you do get custom manifold /intercooler i would say safly about 4500 with everything
I would start by knowing how much your willing to spend and how much power you are going for as well, the mpg i haven’t really calculated it yet but i get gas once a week just about, because i cruise most of the time.

@@ShaneVlogss Great work, thanks for the info, I wonder how much the squirters manage to cool pistons: cant find data on that. Better fans, clever move, I was looking for a multi-row radiator but cant find one. The 0.2 over spec head gasket reduces the compression ratio, I assume, to accomodate boost. These engines seem underrated by modders, and have high HP with low weight, but there seems to be no consensus on the upper HP limit: some say 400. Lol, so many questions....its a great project. @@ShaneVlogss got ya, appreciate it bro, just installed a K&n Air filter as well and thinking about putting a new catback exhaust system as well as a new header that's California approved
One neat trick I learned is having somebody cover the exhaust with something large enough and kinda going a cover up/uncover the exhaust while starting. It honestly sounds like the air/fuel ratio isn't right. It's not creating the combustion that it needs to. I'm not a crazy car guy, but I know that sound. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure.
Sorry for the late response, but i found out that the battery cables i used were not full copper and on top of that i didn’t have a power from the battery straight to the starter so i did get new cables and a power straight to the battery from the starter and it starts perfect now
Sad thing is, many ecus use ohm's to calibrate the system, for fuel mixtures and idling vs. WOT. Those wires spliced add resistance that could be misleading the ECM from properly regulating your engine.

@@ShaneVlogss got ya, appreciate it bro, just installed a K&n Air filter as well and thinking about putting a new catback exhaust system as well as a new header that's California approved
Hell yeah that sounds great , and are there any California approved ones?
@@ShaneVlogss yea I found one on part geeks
That’s sick
Looking for a 06 or 07 camry now to start a build
Ayeee that’s dopeee lmk when you get one
Yo do you still have contacts with that dude that made ur turbo setup?
The 5th gens are slept on ausis awd swap em and track em
Yeah i actually wanna see if i can get a awd kit , i hear in Australia they have awd on the Camrys
Yo shanevlogs do you have IG or FB? Im building a 03 5th gen. Could use some advice and im also in FLA...
What’s up, yeah i do have both, i use Instagram a lot more , you can follow me @ shanelewiss
Amazing build!
Sorry for the late response, but i found out that the battery cables i used were not full copper and on top of that i didn’t have a power from the battery straight to the starter so i did get new cables and a power straight to the battery from the starter and it starts perfect now
bro its fire what kind of wheels it is
Thanks 🙏🏾 they are called enza vatore , idk if they still being sold any more i did switch wheels tho
One click is a starter that's a battery or fuel issue
What clutch kit are you running? Or is it a custom set up?
I’m using clutch master stage 5 and a clutch master 14lbs flywheel
Sad thing is, many ecus use ohm's to calibrate the system, for fuel mixtures and idling vs. WOT. Those wires spliced add resistance that could be misleading the ECM from properly regulating your engine.
Yeah unfortunately that’s why I’m going to be upgradeing ecu to haltech
Manual transmition?what type of gearbox do you used and what type of management? I used sxv20 camry @ 5sfe engine bolt on garret ar70..but still in RnD..
The gear box i am using is the stock gearbox from my car the e351 gearbox , and the engine management I’m using is the greddy e-manage blue (soon to be upgrading)
Dude that spool!!
Did you roll the fenders to get that fitment in the back?
Yes i did roll the back fenders only
Okay thanks, I lowered mine a couple of months ago and I'm really trying to get that camber out of the back without raising it. What did you use to get that lip down on them
@@ShaneVlogssi tried a heat gun and a fender roller but it didn't really do anything for the lip I'm wondering if I'll just have to hammer at it or something 😂
Bro where did you get your body kit from? What kind of body kit is that? And are you on bags or coilovers bro?
I got a vortex style front lip from eBay , and I’m on cx racing coilovers
How did you get you Camry that height what parts do you recommend to make a stock 03 Camry faster?
I have cX racing coilovers , that are fully maxed out inThe front . I also suggest doing a budget turbo build to make the cars it faster
the turbo is facing the wrong way and i'm concern how dose the air even blow in
What year camry is that I have an 04 camry I was thinking of doing a build
My Camry is the 05/06 Camry with the newer style bumper , there nice cars i love them
Sounds dam good
Why am I just seeing this!? We need one video a week my Guy
I really need to do that but i really don’t have much left to do on my car before the tune just need to fix fuel rail and solder wires and that’s it
