    hello, Great video. my aircraft hit a tree and fell in a river. I do have a flycare protection however. Since I can't recover my aircraft, would this be considered as flyaway or accidental coverage? Thank you.

    Hello! Please advise. I have a Mavic Air 2 and Care Refresh. If I activate this "fly away" feature will I still be able to use Care Refresh advantages? So like fly away coverage doesn't "delete" an existing Care Refresh features?

      No it’s a free addition to the normal option.

    Hey Ian I got a new one for you that I haven't seen addressed so I would like your comments. I am helping another guy with this but yeah..I might need it soon. Okay...How the heck does this work on a Smart Controller? Some have bought one, so they have a stock controller. But for Someone like him and me that have a Bundle with SC only??? What do we do and what is the damage or modification process with doing so. I don't have a MA2 YET...but there are reports that this will be broad spectrum back to say My M2Z. How do SC owners use this new program? I guess I my not understand how it all plays out...please advise ASAP as time permits. I am messaging you on RCG as well. Thanks Buddy.

    NOTE: The "fee" isn't necessarily cheap and they will try to wiggle out of it if possible. The loss of a $30K drone has a fee of $3800. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, but, ....

    If you use an ipad and a android device. Do you have to bind both apps on the devices or just one?

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  3 роки тому +1

      No once you have registered it with DJI it’s done. The device does not matter after that point.

    Great video buddy. Quick question can you only take out dji care refresh for the first 2 years of ownership or can you still use it for the life of the drone ?

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  2 роки тому +1

      No it’s limited in time. At one point they were offering renewals in the USA but I think that’s ended now.

      @Mad's Tech thanks for the reply buddy. So if I want similar cover can you recommend anything in the UK? 👍

    Having just acquired a Mini2 this doesn’t fill me with confidence. I’ve been flying drones, or multirotors, for nearly ten years, including most of DJI’s offerings, and I’ve never had anything close to a flyaway. But for DJI to suddenly start offering Flyaway cover??? Do they know something we don’t about the Mini2 and Air2? Or am I letting my paranoia run amuck?

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  3 роки тому +2

      Take it as the opposite, they would not offer it if was likely a bad business decision. The reality is its so rare it happens giving it away is just a token gesture.

    Why not allow anyone to use this that still has care refresh and had a drone fly away before this was implemented?
    They are doing this for 2 reasons.
    One... The whole debacle with dji fly app crashing MA2 drones when the Mini 2 came out and they can use the same controller. Fly aways were a big problem. My MA2 flew away just weeks before implementation because of this. I still have care refresh for another 7 months and a thousand dollars gone. The other reason they are doing this is the two drones covered cost them 100 - 130 dollars to make. So selling a replacement MA2 for $400 is still a good margin. If they really cared they would make this retroactive to anyone that had a fly away and still has care refresh for that drone. Its only fair.

    What does fly away really mean ?
    Flying over the pond and sinking it due to less battery might be covered or not ?
    If that is limited to pure fly aways I would like to know who had had a fly away cause these reports did no longer appear on aoutube and news sites for years.

      Fly Away is the wrong term, but it's DJI just using terminology that the Newbies use in error so everyone is on the same page. They just should have called it a Loss policy, but again that is a marketing call.

    • @repaid1

      A true "Fly Away" would be covered under the Factory Warranty, so that is totally different. However a operator error that let's it float away in high wind, dive bombs it into a tree on a mountain, flies it over a canyon ect...would be Care refresh Insurance. IF you can retrieve the drone then cost is what it was, if however you can't get it back, you pay about half the price of a new one. Moral of the story fly within your limits and the Drones and you'll never have to worry about it. This stuff is for the Credit Card Pilots with more cents than sense. Fly like you should and there will be no need for Care Refresh or a claim in 99% of cases. Just another Marketing Gimmick to get "you", the consumer to spend money.

    So let me get this right, DJI's product has a failure, flies to the moon and you pay for it?
    So what's to stop you claiming a flyaway and buying a second drone on the cheap?

    • @repaid1
      @repaid1 3 роки тому

      Wrong, DJI's product has a failure, they will check logs that you didn't do it and it was indeed a failure, they pay for everything under the warranty side. If however you fly it out over a body of water like a idiot and can't make it back to shore. Then Care Refresh policy will then let you pay about half to get a replacement. Again if you fly like a idiot and can recover the aircraft then the price is the lower number as before $50 for MM and $70 for a MA2.
      The Stop to the feature is the Binding, once you Bind your remote, it will not work anymore when you claim a loss. So they have your Remote and your FC Serial in the system and they just "Zap" it so no body can use them....They are way smarter than that to allow someone to cheat them.

    • @jibbajabba4597
      @jibbajabba4597 3 роки тому

      Repaid 1 well the log assumes that the drone is able to send the telemetry back (I had plenty of flight logs that were incomplete for various reasons back when I owned a DJI) but locking the remote makes sense (or rather they should probably lock your existing remote to the new drone somehow, save them sending you a second remote with the new drone).

    • @repaid1
      @repaid1 3 роки тому

      @@jibbajabba4597 It's actually been said both ways (With the remote) nobody really knows till they actually use the plan at this point. Cheers
