If you’re looking for suggestions for feeding both of the carpet pythons without risking them hurting each other, the facility that I work at uses plastic bins to feed our carpets in. We started doing this after I had a similar experience with food aggression a few years back. Basically you just need to pull one of them out, feed it in the bin, feed the other in the enclosure and put them back together when they’re both finished. It’s useful for us because we weigh our animals right before they’re fed, so you can weigh them in the bin and then feed them. Anyway if you’re not looking for suggestions then feel free to ignore me, it’s just something that has worked for us.
Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion! I’m going to start doing that..too much drama when they lock up. I like keeping them together and only have issues in situations like these.

With my communal snakes before they enter feeding mode I pick one up/scoop one up with a hook and move it to a different location (like if three of them are close together I scoop one up and put it on the floor of the enclosure, put one on the mid branches at the other end of the enclosure and leave the third in the current location/move to the upper branches and feed them) Thats a benfit of having larger enclosures like you do. This is why we dont keep snakes together! Their sitting in a ball represents competition for a favorite basking spot. More than a few pet boas and pythons have been killed by their cagemates while feeding, or even just while moving around the cage. A bite may not seem like much and it may not even bleed, but if one of those long teeth nicks an internal organ or muscle, or punctures a bone, it may begin presenting with sepsis in a few weeks or so.
