  • Atlanta airport workers have dropped bombshell allegations from those in the maintenance workforce. The complaints from about a hundred employees were embarrassing, shocking and in some instances unbelievable. Some airport workers claim they are the victims of sexual harassment, retaliation, and poor treatment allegedly at the hands of managers at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Many of you are confusing City of Atlanta employees, with TSA, concessions, airlines, wheelchair pushers, housekeeping, etc. You will not see MOST city employees, when you're walking through the airport, to catch a flight. They are behind the scenes, keeping the airport RUNNING inside and outside, no matter the weather conditions. The funds allocated during the height of COVID were federal government funds, NOT city funds coming from tax-payers. The workers are DUE these funds, that the city collected on their behalf. Imagine someone organizing a GOFUNDME or given a "loan" that does not have to be paid back, on your behalf, but you are NEVER GIVEN the funds...but someone got it. Same thing here people.

Have you flown through that godforsaken airport? Those employees are not doing anything. They walk around in a weed daze yelling at people on their cell phones. The workers down there are lazy, entitled shits who think that stealing luggage and failing security checks earned them a raise.

Most people have no clue on how an airport function. All the different agencies/ businesses at the airport is not the airport. They just work there and alot of maintenance for some airports don't even work for the airport.

@@lesterjones9335 FACTS. The City of Atlanta manages and runs the airport. These folks work for the City of Atlanta, and are assigned to the airport. They don’t get flight benefits because they’re at the airport. The city generates it’s on revenue from the airport. The money for raises is there, just like council said.

hmm... having lived and worked in ATL and NYC, the hourly pay is different for certain jobs and industries because of each cities cost of living. But, for Airport jobs, I would suggest comparing Jackson-Hartsfield to JFK, Laguardia, and Newark Airports since the ATL airport is known as the busiest while the metro NYC-NJ airports are a part of the global airplane hubs. Having worked at JFK airport, I would and wouldn't be surprised by a difference in hourly pay between the two cities airports.

City and big business is making billions off the airport and the lowly workers get paid crumbs, this is typical of society. It must change, equal pay for all. Whether you are mayor, manager, athlete, governor, ceo of big company the pay needs to be closer in line with others. No one person should ever make over $300,000 unless they own their own business.

That airport is a taxpayer subsidized monstrosity. You're right about the city, those officials graft millions a year off of it. Those "lowly workers" is indicative of your mistake. They aren't "lowly workers". They are employees paid to do a job under contract that can be broken at any time for any reason. An employee can walk out mid shift and never come back. At any time for any reason or no reason at all. They are not lowly, they are empowered with choice.
Your method removes choice. You can't do that and expect to have any sort of society that isn't an ant colony.
