Kubota BX2380 Transmission Fluid Change - 50hr Service

This Kubota was easy to do maintenance on all I had to do was get the proper supplies and then I was set to move forward. You can get the oil and filter from your local dealer which may be the best place to get it or you could try and order it from the internet I could not find anywhere on the internet that was cheaper than my local dealer. That may be different for you.
My list of Supplies:
Kubota Oil, 15w-40, 3.5 quarts
Kubota Oil Filter, Part Number (HH150-32430)
Oil Drain Pan (big enough to hold 3.5 quarts)
Funnel
Oil Filter Wrench
Shop Towels
Ratchet and Socket or Wrench for Drain Plug

I have a BX2380, bought in May 2022. I change the engine oil and filter every spring and fall. I also only use synthetic oil, especially during the winter months. It flows better and faster in the cold. I only have about 50 hours also. And my first oil filter replacement was also very tough. I tries 4 different oil filter wrench's before I got it. They defiantly put them on way too tight at the factory. I wonder why the dealers aren't telling them this.
I just did my first 50 hours engine oil change, thank you for your video, very appreciated.
Glad it helped
The arm chair guy here. I think the oil plug is a #14MM. Just my 2 cents
Thanks for a nice video. Very helpful.
Thank you for the kind words!
Good video, thanks for sharing! Just one point, that’s way more torque on the oil filter, next time that will be a real bear to get off. Personal experience!
I did not tighten the filter that tight when I installed the new one.
This is great! Thank you for making this Scott!
Thank you!
Awesome video.
Thanks!
Nice video..thanks!
Nice job
You should change both fuel filters after 50+hrs
All ways put lube on your rubber
Do you find that you use the BX more or less than what you thought? We have about a acre and a half mostly woods. I was trying to decide how much we would actually use it! Thank you for the video
I use it more than I thought. It depends on what you plan to do around your property. I have about 3.5 acres and so just using it as a wheelbarrow is a real time saver and energy saver. If you do a lot of projects around the house your self then this tractor can be very handy especially if you get the quick attach bucket. I have the bucket, forks and a grapple and interchanging them is a breeze allowing me to do multiple things a day without the hassle of pins and other stuff. I will be putting more videos out about the attachments that I have and my thoughts. Let me know if you have any other questions!
I’m at about 55 on mine. Love it, use it more than I thought. Thanks for the video.
I have 3/4 of an acre and with the skid steer pallet forks on the front I use it for all kinds of things.
why do you change tran oil, it calls to change at 200 hours.
It was suggested to change the Filter and it seemed beneficial to me to just go ahead and change the trans oil and clean the other screen at the same time since the whole purpose of changing the filter so soon was to help remove the metal contaminates that come from a brand new machine.
Initial service is at 50 hours, as well as the filter, and the screen. Then 200 hours after that. I'm doing the front axle oil as well at my 50 hour service....lots of gunk in the fluids during the break in period that you want to get out of there ASAP.

If you can hand tighten the filter, don’t farmer crank it down, just snug tight is great for the filter. I have had filters that required a screwdriver thru them to untighten, some the filter was so tight, the oil filter fitting came out of the engine block. Too much is too much! The teenage technicians down at the rapid, zipped, jiffy lube don’t have the knowledge to tell if too much is too much tightness. Nuff said.
Yep! I do think that when the factory put these tractor filters on the did not lubricate the o-rings. They squeaked the entire time i was unscrewing them until the oil hit the seal.
Lower radiator hose looks damaged. Did you ever replace it?
I will check that out to see if it is damaged. I did not notice
My BX has two oil knobs one on top and another the side. Are they for the same oil?
Same...I have the BX2680, mine is that way, the top one is a pain to get to, so I would use the one on the side as its much easier to access. Coming up on my 50 hour service...I'll be doing the engine oil/filter, and hydrostatic fluid and filter, as well as the front axle oil.
