Saw him for the first time on the 1999 tour....The Time kicked his A...! Of course by the time he did the tour this footage is from, Prince wan at an entirely different level .
The same....every other artist in concert seems so dull to me.... it's as if you had been with the most beautiful woman in the world and you were being introduced to others
Yes, agree. I saw every tour and after shows here in Australia and I've always said, I saw some great concerts, but then I saw Prince and no one compared, ever! He brought us to this extraordinary high at the concerts that left us on a high for months. Miss him alot, it's s just not the same now 😓
Doing all those splits and jumps in heels for decades led to his terrible hip pain and ultimately his tragic early death from Fentanyl. So grateful I saw him live 6 times starting in 82. The greatest ever.
I am a man of science (real science not the woo bs from the internet) but deep in my heart I really believe that Prince was able to tap into energies that were out of this world (what kills me is that I will never be able to prove it) but this concert is one bit of evidence that gives me that gut feeling.
Prince was a musical God. I was lucky enough to see him live over 20 times and even luckier to attend several of his infamous after shows and after parties. I even danced on stage with him once:) He's also the greatest performer I've seen, and I saw most of the big names in the 80s and early 90s. Prince's repertoire is super deep. Enjoy the ride :D
I've only been to around 5 concerts, but one was in Tokyo and another in Osaka. Also, San Francisco, Oakland and one in San Jose. SF was the first I saw, and that was his Dirty Mind tour. Looong time ago! My favorite artist of all time.
How can are society call Kanye West or Jay Z musical geniuses and can't play one fucking instrument and sample other people's music,Prince the greatest of all time period!!
Concerning Sheila E’s outfit during the Sign O The Times and LoveSexy tours in 1987 and 1988, Prince took inspiration from USA track phenom Florence Griffith Joyner. She wore similar uniforms on the track.
Had Prince not been a strong, confident leader, we would never have known of his creativity and genius. I'm sure he suffered for his art through numerous lifetimes and that he fully earned his talent. I doubt he ever cheated by channeling like a lot of fake people do. Any genuine human being has incredible potential for great accomplishments, but do they have what it takes to be vulnerable and put themselves out there to express their creativity? How many others are there ready to shoot them down?
Thank you, I've been waiting for someone to notice the rise out of the splits. I danced ballet & modern jazz for 6 years and that rise takes more strength than the actual split, and always in heels. He was athletic with his stage dancing.
I saw couple times Prince live in Barcelona and i can say that the moment I heard the first beat of the drums I couldn't stop dancing, super powerful concerts with vibrations that run through you from head to toe. How a great and super talented artist was, irrepetible !!
Sign O The Times the film is on Amazon Prime. So many people reacted to Hamilton on UA-cam. Here I am wishing someone would do this masterpiece! I saw this concert movie in theater with my bros. We went to concerts together to see Prince live. This film had every bit of that energy. Either as a reaction or in your own personal time, this is a must watch!
Omg i absolutely love that term he used "controlled chaos" that is absolutely what his performance is. Yes Prince orchestrated the entire performance, some of his rehearsals are on youtube. Band members of Prince have stories about Prince teaching on your instrument how to play something right if you got it wrong. Prince is absolutely my favorite artist. He will keep surprising you! 🤗
I miss the 80s. For me, almost the entire decade was like this. Dance clubs everywhere with a lot of good Booger Sugar to keep the party going. It's a miracle I made out of that decade alive! If I had Prince's money, I probably wouldn't have. RIP Prince. No one brought the party like you!
So much fun watching this one with you! Prince always wore heels - even when he wasn’t performing. In more recent years, presumably due to issues with pain, he would wear platform sneakers at times. That pause in the beginning was timed so perfectly 😂 You should definitely check out the whole SOTT concert film. It’s fantastic. Thanks for another great reaction 💜💜💜
@@setonhillstudios he is one of a kind for sure. I just bought you some more pizza with a couple of requests. I’m having too much fun!!! I’m also going to figure out some Batman era performances for you since you mentioned that soundtrack 😀

per noi che conosciamo Prince da sempre è tutto normale, siete voi che arrivate solo ora, abituati alla mediocrità del mainstream e rimanete sconvolti semplicemente da un vero artista. L'arte è così ...
Controlled chaos is a good way to describe it. 😂😂😂 Ain’t nothing like a Prince show. The other song I requested was a live version of Partyman, which is one of the songs that was in the 1989 Batman film. 💜
The drummer/percussionist is Sheila E, very famous & respected in her own right. She's worked with just about everyone & is a master percussionist. She had a few albums out in the 80s with a couple hit songs that hit wrote/produced. They were a couple for a few years. She's still doing it all & beloved by everyone.
The formula for a successful concert? Simply put- rather you are entertaining an audience of 50,000 or just having a handful of friends over to your house for refreshments and Rummi Cube- GET YOUR GUESTS TO ENJOY THEMSELVES. Prince knew and worked that formula to death! He would wow and floor the audience with his commanding performance thru his singing and instrumentality, and then lay the instruments down and get them all moving and pumped. Literallly wear them out! And that is why those who experienced it once, ALWAYS came back for more when he showed up in their cities to see what else he had up his sleeve. And 3 or 4 encores later on- They STILL couldn't get enough.
The drummer, Sheila E, had her own successful music career with songs like The Glamorous Life and The Belle of St Mark (Prince wrote and recorded most of her music then she would record her vocal tracks). So she was no stranger to performing.
You just bore witness to one of the many mind blowing performances from the movie, so many more to go! Stellar clips to watch from Sign O the Times: Hot Thang, Housequake, If I Was Your Girlfriend, and the opening clip feat the title track. 🔥

The rap by Sheila E is an old nonsense poem by an English Poet called Edward Lear.
The Table and the Chair
BY EDWARD LEAR
Said the Table to the Chair,
'You can hardly be aware,
'How I suffer from the heat,
'And from chilblains on my feet!
'If we took a little walk,
'We might have a little talk!
'Pray let us take the air!'
Said the Table to the Chair.
Said the Chair unto the Table,
'Now you know we are not able!
'How foolishly you talk,
'When you know we cannot walk!'
Said the Table, with a sigh,
'It can do no harm to try,
'I've as many legs as you,
'Why can't we walk on two?'
So they both went slowly down,
And walked about the town
With a cheerful bumpy sound,
As they toddled round and round.
And everybody cried,
As they hastened to their side,
'See! the Table and the Chair
'Have come out to take the air!'
But in going down an alley,
To a castle in a valley,
They completely lost their way,
And wandered all the day,
Till, to see them safely back,
They paid a Ducky-quack,
And a Beetle, and a Mouse,
Who took them to their house.
Then they whispered to each other,
'O delightful little brother!
'What a lovely walk we've taken!
'Let us dine on Beans and Bacon!'
So the Ducky, and the leetle
Browny-Mousy and the Beetle
Dined, and danced upon their heads
Till they toddled to their beds.
