I just want to say that I occasionally scroll through UA-cam, watching videos of all varieties, You by far or one of the most normal human beings that I’ve ever watched. I love everything about you, especially your teaching ability. I could watch, and I have done marathon Garden Answer videos, when I first started watching your channel. You and Aaron are so calming and articulate. I absolutely adore you and your channel.

Good morning GA family!! I trimmed up our peach tree that was either getting pulled, or getting a major trim job. I gave it one more chance with a trim. All of the cut branches, that had swollen buds, I put in a large vase, and now I have the most beautiful peach blossom display. So keep those fruit tree limbs for a second use. 🥳🥳

I just covered my peach tree because our temps are going to be down to 22 F degrees this week (in central PA) and I am afraid the buds will freeze. I did not think I could trim at this time. I do not know enough about the pruning and spraying of peach trees. Any helpful info appreciated.

@@sp9600Its helpful to spray them with copper for fungus and horticultural oil for bugs before they bloom. And they want to be pruned more, as they tend to put on more fruit than they can carry without branches breaking. Also thin the fruit well. Good luck on protecting the fruit! We have done a lot of creative things to protect our apricot blossoms, they bloom so early they usually have some frost damage.

I really enjoy watching you do garden chores. I learn so much from you. The pruning is very interesting...knowing where to cut, looking at buds to see the direction of growth, the different ways to prune, cutting back the leader. I have two small ornamental trees, that I've pruned every spring for a few years...to keep the size in check. I see all the mistakes I made, but the trees are fine. This year, I hired someone who works with trees to do it properly. Now, I'm more informed. Thank you!😊

Hello Laura & Aaron. Love your channel, you give me a lot of inspiration, and the both of you make a great team. I have a tip for gardeners: I carry a little 2 oz spray bottle filled with alcohol in the pocket of my gardening bib overalls when pruning out in the garden. I just spray it on the tool, let it air dry and prune away. You use a lot less alcohol, easy access, and don’t have to mess with paper towels. Love your gardens.

This is such important information, this major pruning of trees. It's the kind of thing that most of us just don't want to do because we KNOW we'll mess up the job. But not with GA videos! I just pruned my climbing rose today, using a video from a week or two ago, and even though it was a bit scary taking out some of the bigger canes, following your rules Laura made it easy because you always explain why and just exactly how to do it. THANKS SO MUCH!

I pour the alcohol into an old tall glass jar and then soak the pruners in the jar while I clean up between trees. You can use the alcohol for the whole season if you keep a lid on it. The jar opening needs to be large enough to fit the pruners inside.

Laura hi 👋 we have a neighbor that is Italian. Older gentleman. He has fruit trees in his backyard. He ,when trees were young, hung rocks as weights on his branches to make the branches bend out then up. It helps with air flow and keeps the fruit lower for picking. The trees are beautiful and bear alot of fruit.😊
