"Annie recalled the day Denver wrote the song: "It was written after John and I had gone through a pretty intense time together and things were pretty good for us. He left to go skiing and he got on the Ajax chair on Aspen mountain and the song just came to him. He skied down and came home and wrote it down... Initially it was a love song and it was given to me through him, and yet for him it became a bit like a prayer." "
You can always tell pure talent when they sound better live than they do in a recording. He was one of the best. Today’s music is just no where close to this.
Thank you so much for reviewing Annie’s Song! This is truly a song that you feel in deep down in your soul! John Denver had a fine, beautiful voice that also had a gentle and kind quality, too. I think you don’t just listen to John Denver’s music, but really feel it, as well 😊
I had all his albums as a teen and still have them. His music got me through all those difficult teen hormones and coming of age issues. I will love his music forever.
I love your genuine reaction to Johns music. His music got me through those difficult teenage and young adult years. I have yet to find another musician that touches me as Johns music did.
This man was a legend. He was one of the greatest singer/songwriters in music history. He had one of the most beautiful voices that can soar to a counter Tenor high. You must go down the Rabbitt Hole that is the late great Folk Rocker John Denver. Great reaction. Now you understand why the people gave him such an ovation. Priceless! This song has also become a wedding march for people around the world. .
If you enjoyed this (which he wrote in 10 minutes on a ski lift after a row with his wife) then you will love the live version of 'For You' from his 'Wildlife Concert' . John Denver is a great singer and song writer with loads of fantastic songs. He sounds just as good live as he does on the studio versions. He is more a folk singer than country singer. John died far too young and the world is a worse place because of this.
I love watching reactions to this beautiful song. His love of nature was deep, and to describe his love for Annie as being as meaningful and those senses in nature shows how pure that love was. I still hurt from his early death. What a loss it is. Please listen to his song "Rocky Mountain High". It'll touch your soul, too.
This has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung. Godspeed, John. You are dearly loved and sadly missed. Listen to “Fingers of Love” by Crowded House. It’s another beauty.❤️
John wrote this for is wife Annie. It is beautiful. John often use nature as a way to express his joy in life and the wirkd ariubd. He was a master singer and songwriter and a wonderful person. @@IslandGirlzHaveFlow05XBS Are you aware that John posts on X (Twitter) ? I've been conversing with him for over two yrs. He didn't die, he's been in witness protection as have many others. How awesome is our heavenly Father. God bless you. ❤️
I understand completely what you mean by wishing music could go back to when it was pure simple and you could actually feel something other than just the beat of it.
Here is the music played at Princess Diana's funeral 'song for Athene' (Athene died in an accident and her friend John Tavener composed it for her), ua-cam.com/video/II_QgNkG5jg/v-deo.html the lyrics are: Alleluia, Alleluia May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest Alleluia, Alleluia Remember me O Lord, when you come into your kingdom Alleluia, Alleluia Give rest O Lord to your handmaid, who has fallen asleep Alleluia, Alleluia The Choir of Saints have found the well-spring of life and door of paradise Alleluia, Alleluia Life a shadow and a dream Alleluia, Alleluia Weeping at the grave creates the song Alleluia Come, enjoy rewards and crowns I have prepared for you Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Such a lovely song 🎶….I hope he is so happy in heaven, where’s Annie?? I wish they could get back together. Thank you for your reaction….clean and beautiful is right.
You have just fallen into a vast rabbit hole called John Denver. It d really matter which John Denver song you play. There are no bad ones. But a few to start with. There are many more. TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH I’M LEAVING ON A JET PLANE GOD I’m A COUNTRY BOY IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK HOME AGAIN SUNSHINE ON MY SHOULDERS SOME DAYS ARE DIAMOND, SOME DAYS ARE STONE LIKE A SAD SONG THE COWBOY AND THE LADY DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES
Thanks, Island Girl! I mean, What! What if someone wrote this song for you??? JD was amazing, and especially LIVE.. not much more to say, other than I appreciate your appreciation! All the best!
I still have the LP rocky mountain high album( vinal record long player) 12 inch records are generally manufactured for full-length (LP) albums. At 33 rpm they hold around 15-22 minutes per side. 33 rpm is the most common speed for 12 inch records. Yes I'm an old git lol. The funny thing is as a young lad I would sing Annie's song with a bit of a change lol You fill up my senses. Like a night in the pig farm. And it stuck.
It's sad John I's gone RIP,this is up there as a top favourite,I believe he wrote this song for his wife. I'm not sure if if it was before his divorce or after witch sounds it probably is , bueatfull ☘️
Love watching your reactions. If you can please try this but have tissues at hand. John McDermott - The Old Man (With Lyrics) John wrote this about his father. God Bless you and your family.

A woman wants a man who can say all of that with a sincere and open heart.

The story goes, when he got a divorce, it was 50 50 on the house. So he tried to cut it in half with a chain saw. 👍😆😂
Nope.
Listen to the lyrics of this song its the most beautiful love song ever and John Denver so sadly missed ❤
He's alive in witness protection!
No he is not
There is nothing more annoying than when people applaud through the beginning of a song.
