A girl is swinging on a swing (yea, I know) while a sister is getting whipped. Says a lot. But beating someone for accidentally dropping and breaking eggs - who is already a nervous wreck because.... - is beyond savage. Justice comes in many layers.
The scene where Django was free to pick his fit and he picked the most fancy one truly was like one of those early missions in open world games where you get to choose several pieces of clothing for free.
I only just realised, Django's reflection in the mirror at 1:15 has no head. Not sure if it's dirt/grease or Tarantino having his fun and removing it in post - to show how the brothers didn't recognise the slaves as people? That's he's a faceless hero? That Jody, craning to see, can only see the clothes and not the man? The mirror reflection is definitely on purpose, so there's something being said there, but I don't know what.

I think my favorite part of this scene is that, when Jodie looks into the mirror for who her savior is, the dirty mirror only shows the body, not the face, further adding to the "legend" of Django. Thats how I see it anyway.

The scene where Django was free to pick his fit and he picked the most fancy one truly was like one of those early missions in open world games where you get to choose several pieces of clothing for free.
Crispy editing, an awe extreme zooms, brilliant acting and a magnificent film.

This setting reminds me of braithewaits manor in Red Dead Redemption 2. This movie and the game are a masterpiece.

I only just realised, Django's reflection in the mirror at 1:15 has no head. Not sure if it's dirt/grease or Tarantino having his fun and removing it in post - to show how the brothers didn't recognise the slaves as people? That's he's a faceless hero? That Jody, craning to see, can only see the clothes and not the man? The mirror reflection is definitely on purpose, so there's something being said there, but I don't know what.

youll notice when lil Jody sees Django in the mirror during his appearance his face is obscured by some dirt on the mirror. i suspect by his voice she can't discern his race, and he's dressed well. i also suspect this was done on purpose.
that shot is.... ART. this is why i hold QT in high regard. the man is a master at his craft. he treats his shots like paintings and the way he builds up that moment. the film is a masterpiece.

I think my favorite part of this scene is that, when Jodie looks into the mirror for who her savior is, the dirty mirror only shows the body, not the face, further adding to the "legend" of Django.
Thats how I see it anyway.
The music is so well crafted. The way the score builds and builds and then just transcends into this heroic type music kinda of like when you see Gandalf in the lord of the rings the two towers. This scene is so fucking powerful
