- Fatima Bhutto hails from a Pakistani political dynasty but insists she has no intention of going into politics herself. Instead the niece of Benazir Bhutto has become a writer, with her first novel now out in French.
"In The Shadow of the Crescent Moon" portrays a day in the life of a family living in Mir Ali, in Pakistan's volatile semi-autonomous tribal zones. On today's show Fatima tells Catherine Nicholson why she thinks ordinary voices in Pakistan aren't being heard, why she feels women play a more important role in Pakistani life than we might think, and how she feels about the ongoing peace talks between the Taliban and the Pakistani government.

Ahhhh, Fatima. Despite the tight spiral curls, she's as bewitching as ever.--My favorite Bhutto. The only Bhutto I've ever loved.
She is so good and a fresh breeze in decent people from Pakistan and I am happy she is not in to the dirty politics of Pakistan and she should not. I like her decent delivery of dialogues and lectures, she know how to talk during an interview and does not shout like other leaders during talk shows in our Pakistan.
That was an amazing interview.
She is so right about those "nameless" "faceless" people. We have so immune as a society to think about that.
She is a good orator but essentially seems to say nothing . She is very defensive about her land."Corrupt politicians and corruption"...she needs to be more specific in her social analysis
Ur such a sweetheart Fatima. Wish to meet u one day.
Fatima Bhutto is of the great spiritual leaders among few who work for the global change.
