- Russia has destroyed the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in the city of Ukrainka in Kyiv Oblast due to a lack of air defense missiles. MAGA Republicans continue to block a vote on military aid for Ukraine and the EU Parliament is demanding that European countries give up and donate 7 of their more than 100 Patriot air defense systems to protect Ukrainian cities.

Ukraine doesn't have the missiles they need to provide sufficient AA cover (though they would also need those additional Patriot systems) due to lack of missiles. This acute shortage is what I would term the Johnson Effect in dishonor of the current Speaker.

Well I don't want Ukraine hitting civilian targets like homes, schools, hospitals, etc, but oil refineries and military factories are legitimate military targets. As are subs & ships in port in Novorossiysk, as well as aircraft on the ground in Russia, especially Tupolev bombers and fighter-bombers.

And her 3 Supreme Court picks would not risk the civil rights of millions of Americans for the next few generations. Maybe you don't care about other people's kids, but if you have children of your own this affects them. So yeah, that forgiveness is not readily offered should be easy to understand. Your vote changed lives and placed our nation on a dangerous trajectory from which we may never recover. If you want forgiveness, best turn to your higher power.

I'm sick of politicians that only look to argue amongst themselves on matters that are not that important, so they can score political points against one another. They aren't interested in "ruling" for the people they represent, it's a job that they do to earn as much income as possible, but mostly to masturbate their own ego.
I'd prefer our democracy than the alternatives, but voters need to wake the fuck up and start holding their representatives to account. I write on a regular basis to mine, pleading to do something about the issues in Ukraine and the threat from this new axis of power. But no they want to talk about people that want to come here and fill jobs the locals don't want to do, so they can say they are fighting against people coming into the country to illegally take their jobs. Technically, the speaker should be put into place by the house-majority. So the same majority that can up or down vote a bill on the agenda can also place the speaker that they want. The issue right now is that the majority is fractured and does not have a common goal.
Currently, it's like there are 3 parties in the house and no party has the majority. And 2 of these parties depend on the same pool of votes, therefore none of them want to work together with the party from the opposing pool of votes.

This happened in Slovakia too, so different people and sadly these are pro-ruzzian people. So that is how it "flipped sides", not like the same people of few years ago got scared.

All they care is the future empire they Invision in their sick minds and the price measured in human lives are irrelevant to them. They will lie till the end, blame everyone around the meantime will be sending troops in large numbers to the frontline. The Slovakians and Ukrainians share distant but nonetheless common past, we have much more in common that we can imagine and as someone who happens to live next to Russia I would highly recommend you never listen and believe what the Russians say or promise or what the pro-russian politicians promise. The Russians will break any agreements the moment they can, they will mislead you, deceive, lie, pretend its someone else and meanwhile they will destabilise you country from the inside. As a European I've long found our effort in this war embarrassing for a while. It's not taken seriously, and it's not much talked about. The least we have is a rather unified stance on the matter, but no one is going that necessary extra mile to ensure Ukraine's freedom, and the industries are not ramping up to send unconditional arms and keep the nations constantly supplied. I'm fiercely hating the MAGA people at the moment, but by no means do I find out own contribution adequate - and I live in Denmark, a nation who's given among the most in comparison to GDP.

I can vote in both Finland and Sweden! In both countries you can choose between about five parties in the middle of the field, and choose what you see as important in life at least for the next four years.
Quite a lot of people in these countries think they don't need to support the same party in two consecutive elections.
But, unfortunately, sometimes you have to vote against something instead of for something. Some parties must be woken up by being defeated.
A big mistake in any country is to believe you can vote for one and the same party for decades.
Yes, NZ changed from a 2-party (first past the post) to a proportional representation. (Parliamentary system like the UK - but only one house). More parties in the winning side now, although the same 2 dominate. But the 2 parties have both had to form a couple of alliances and so do some compromising. Not huge difference from before, but I think it's an improvement.
From here it's hard to believe the 2 parties are so at odds in the US that Republicans wouldn't do anything -- your system needs some tinking as well.

There are about 30-40 Patriot systems outside the USA with around 250 launchers. The 100 systems in Europe mentioned by Guy Verhofstad are launchers, not systems. Raytheon can't build replacement systems fast enough to donate enough to Ukraine. Ukraine needs 7 systems ASAP and 25 systems in total.

Better still, they should stand up for what is right and make this a non-partisan issue. They need to say no to Trump and the maga wing, and break ranks with those who are morally wrong on this issue. Quitting doesn't take guts. Facing opposition is what politics is, even if comes from a portion of your own camp. Don't surrender your party to the likes of Trump. Take a stand for right, and for Right. American citizens need to see this.
I'm from the EU. I dont understand.. Aren't the US supposed to represent "FREEDOM" yet they won't help another country fighting for their freedom? American politics has successfully harnessed American resentment of European governments that have neglected defense. Putin's rhetorical machine reinforces it, and he appears quite capable of getting useful idiots for free, or for money, or through quiet threats. Take care for the security of your own politicians lest they too become useful idiots for Putin.

As an American who is only fluent in English, I can confirm, as somebody learning Japanese, due to it's massive grammar language structure differences, is not easy.
