This episode is very special to me it was November 1995 here in England on bbc1 and it was the 1st week I started going out with my girlfriend from school then age 15 and now 21 years on and still together married with 3 grown up children this song and episode will aways have a special place in my heart
@John Smallberries Not an instrumental but a stripped down piano version. ua-cam.com/video/8Z-cg5JOrOs/v-deo.html And another song from that episode I love. ua-cam.com/video/caXwBN4Ym3o/v-deo.html
Due South was a masterpiece. And they had such great choice of music. Sarah McLachlan became a household name in part because of this show. The song is very close to the original. It was Possession in the original scene, but it was a bit shorter than seen here. Great edit :) This scene still brings tears to my eyes. The first time I saw it, I had to rewind it about 10 times...
I watched Due South when it first aired and found it moderately charming and clever. Then the two-part Victoria's Secret episodes aired and knocked me off my feet. I was like "Where did THAT come from???" Devastatingly tragical, heartbreakingly romantic, and fiendishly clever, with two Sarah McLaughlin songs delivering the one-two punch which rendered those episodes as timeless classics. I've watched those episodes about once every five years ever since.
i absolutely loved this show. loved everything about it and had to buy it on dvd and both sound tracks. this two part episode was one of the most beautiful and tragic television shows ive ever watched.
Absolutely LOVED this storyline. I was mesmerized by it when I was 11 and hadn’t seen it again until a couple of days ago. It just blows me away! The story, the acting, the music. WOW! Thanks for putting this together!
Everything about this show I loved to death, The intro music, the acting, all the actors and actresses, Defenbegger, The storys, All the other music that was included like this in various episodes, To date this is still my fave series of all time beating even the x files, At one point I even used to walk around school with a couple buddys and pretend we were ray and benny lol. Thankyou kindly maam
This drama episode was the very first time I heard Sarah MacLachlan sing. I just recorded this song off the episode and took it to a nearby record store where my friend Liz worked, and asked who was singing this song. She told me right off the top or her head.
My favorite series used to watch it all the time when it was first came out on t.v., bought the dvd set. Need to buy another set as my other ones are wearing out.
This has always been one of my all-time favourite songs & one of my all-time favourite TV shows. I had the "Due South" soundtrack CD & often thought of various clips from the TV show while listening to it. This video is pretty much what I always visualized; thank you so much for creating it, hamstergirl!
flew all the way to toronto from england once just ask a girl out that i had only met once before, and she stood me up,this was the song that was playing on the radio in the taxi on the way back to the airport...there is not a day goes by that i do not think of her...
Beautiful video. The song works so well, you can see how his heart was so violently ripped away by what happened with her. I love it. Nice work on the editing.
Excellent show. I used to be so in to Due South and I still love it. I have the DVDs, but I haven't watched them in a while, so this brought back memories of my sis and I watching it after school.
2:05 - 2:15 O_o That's got to be 10 of the sexiest seconds I've ever seen on television!!! Although the whole part from 0:55 - 2:20 is just... Wow... I really miss this show!
In truth I could take or leave Due South but this 2 part episode just struck a chord....so much so i bought it on VHS as it was back then. It also got me into Sarah Mclachlan as I loved this song, it just went so well with the episode love theme and so I bought the whole album just to get it,,,great song, had no idea it was all based on her stalker at the time, amazing woman...(and great DS episode)
I had a similar moment in my short live. I went to visit a girl I loved dearly in her hometown. That was our second and last face-to-face encounter. We had this long-distance thing going on, basically by mail, before the internet days.
Thank You Kindly although I must say not all of the lighting is intentional because I had the episode recorded on my computer and then had to record the clips using my moms digital camera. lol I unfortunatley I think I only have Window movie maker, but I will have to see if I have Final Cut, sounds like a good program...
Did you know that this was intended to be the series finale because of funding issues? I think i would have had to kick some arse if they would've killed Fraser like that!!!!!!! I love this vid, continue the great work hamstergirl!
I very much like the lightning effects you put to the original clips. Do you use Adobe Premiere ? (or perhaps Final Cut ?). Very nice work, I love it. Touching and moving. Ahh that dear Benny....
I remember watching this episode(loved the show) and they used sarah's music in it, it was a beautiful and tragic episode.... Was it this song used or was it angel? I cant remember.
DANG IT.. I can't remember the name of this episode. This is the one where he lost his memory and had the song "ANGLE" by Sarah mcLacklin playing in the background, isn't it?
There’s gotta be a crossover fic there with csi ny. Can imagine finding a way to get Benny to nyc and then he sees a woman who’s Victoria’s spitting image. Maybe they’re sisters cause Stella was an orphan. Meanwhile another bank robbery and the camera and dna scream Stella but the prints aren’t hers. Weird how when I started that series it was hard not to think of Victoria and now it’s hard not to think of Stella The backstory on the song is a bit creepy since the singer was stalked and that inspired it
This show was too good to stay on......head and shoulders above the dreck now.....if this was out now, it'd be a cable hit. Then again, John From Cincinnati got the ax, another one too smart for it's own good.

How is it special?
You’re very lucky. I lost my Victoria’s
I remember watching this same episode at the same time.
This might've been the single most powerful artistic experience of my childhood...
i remember it too. it was outstanding. I knew something important was happening, though I didn't understand it. leaving your gang for love
That ending was some bold writing for a '90s era show.

that whole episodes was! I was 15 or so when this aired ... and those images with the polar bear in the background haunted me for years.

BEST 2 episodes of Due South ever. Saw hundreds of times...
Спасибо создателям, за этот сериал! У нас он назывался: Строго на юг.
В холодные и голодные 90ые, он радовал и согревал.
Да сериал был отличный. Тоже вспоминаю 90е когда смотрю этот сериал.
Two of the best hours ever produced for television. A great story to round out a great character.
One of my favorite love scenes...still to this day.

God I remember that seen. It defined passion for me
Love this show❤
I wish I could come back in time and return to 90's

Diefenbaker. Named for John Diefenbaker, Canadian Prime Minister.
@@csanglican9596 I never knew that! Just noticed I spelt it completely wrong as well 😅
This song is amazing and just fits so well with the episode on Due South.
I find myself back to this song again.....the thoughts of what might have been with someone who has stolen my heart .....but will never be
I know how you feel. :(
That was one of their best episodes.
This was the best episode throughout the whole series in my opinion.
This drama episode was the very first time I heard Sarah MacLachlan sing. I just recorded this song off the episode and took it to a nearby record store where my friend Liz worked, and asked who was singing this song. She told me right off the top or her head.
Melina Kanakaredes very charming woman.
I used to love this show.

Mój ulubiony (ostatnio) utwór :) (polish language).
I've lost count of how many times I've returned to this vid again and again. ALL THE FEELINGS! Beautifully done, hamstergirl! \due South/ \o/
Beautiful video. The song works so well, you can see how his heart was so violently ripped away by what happened with her. I love it. Nice work on the editing.
love

Has there ever been a better-looking guy in all of television history?
No. Never
@@rontalty7654 never ever, like ever!
No, and he still is my #1. I'd take him today!
@@f.rhondanewport1791 But he is married (to the same person for 30+ years. That is admirable!) Have you seen him in anything recent? A silver fox!!
@@downtime86stars17 yes, I love that he and Martha have a solid marriage. And I've seen him in silver fox mode. Better than ever! Like a fine wine.
A Great song plus a great video lov it
Staggeringly beautiful in every respect
I didn't think much of this show until this episode-- this was spectacular. thanks for sharing.
I heard a song that almost sounded slightly like this and the nostalgia came flowing through, I had to come and search for it so glad I found it!
... and also, ps, you got the timings so good between the video and the song, thank you

This was amazing. You did a great job.
A rare side of Fraser, very powerful and moving

By any chance, was this the actress Melina Kanakaredes?.John M Guinto
Yes it’s her
@MrThompsonpj the final episode is called call of the wild and there is the clip of where he sees his mum again on youtube
it was a great ending...made me so sad first time i saw it, and I was maybe 5 or something. Makes me cry even today...

thanks very much for the compliment, and oh, that story of yours is so beatifully sad and romantic!
“Ray, I was going with her”
“I know”
agreed it's so powerful and moving and soo well written c|:)
The tragedy of loving that which is forbidden. . .
" I should have gone with her..."
But she shot Dief, she framed Ray - he could never have forgiven her. But yes - great episodes from a great series. Miss it!

My 4 year marriage in a 4:39 minute video 😥
You obviously never watched Due South or else you'd know better.
This show was too good to stay on......head and shoulders above the dreck now.....if this was out now, it'd be a cable hit.
Then again, John From Cincinnati got the ax, another one too smart for it's own good.
there is no foe...i would not face,
devide....i would not cross,
and dragon i would not slay....to win her favour...
My thoughts exactly. Just about everything is crap now...except for a few shows.
ray shot him on purpose to protect him
:( that's so sad
She did a pre emptive
i would have made the love scene a little sexier & a different girl...she doesnt suit him
