I must have stuck with Brookside for longer than I remember, I thought I bailed out at the end of 1998 but I know that I was still watching whilst Callum Finnegan was around and was still watching by the time... ah, that would be a spoiler so I won't say. But I don't really have any memory of all this stuff. It must have just been washing over me by this stage. I do remember that I watched for quite a time hoping that things would pick up and it would all get good again. This must have been where I was getting bored but trying to stick with it. Looking at it now, it's not that bad actually. But I was exhausted by the Nikki Shadwick story which went around in circles forever, and the tedious surrogacy storyline with Jacqui and the Farnham's. It's frustrating to watch this video, because there's so much that was still good about the show by 1999, but it was starting to slip through their fingers and ultimately they never managed to pull it back. It was real tough luck though, because just a relatively momentary lull cost them the entire show. It lost viewers by the millions, and they were unable to persuade them back.
Sinbad’s ambulance wasn’t quite as quick as Ron’s the other week 😂
