Hi Emily! What perfect timing on your part because I’m sitting here waiting for an appointment and needed something to help me calm down my anxiety and here you are! Always helping me out 🤗 Thank you so much! I also had an idea about buildable makeup: let’s say you had to get ready quickly for something like an event at your kids’ school or a work event but you only have 15-20mins to get ready then later you have a date night or a girl’s night out and don’t have time to redo your whole makeup so you build on what you did before. I believe you have a version of this for when you did the hourglass retouching fluid review. Anyway, just a thought I had because I’ve had this happen to me. Hope you’re having a fantastic day!! ☀️

My favorite drug store brushes are Real Techniques and Eco Tools. However, over the last few years I have slowly replaced all of them with BK Beauty brushes during their Mother's Day and Black Friday sales. I realized that the amount of money I was spending of trying different low cost brushes added up to the same or more and just getting the higher end brushes and sticking with them. It's been a gift to myself twice a year to get a few more brushes and it's been fun to collect them. The Angie set has been great for me as I have hooded eyes and they are smaller. You are my favorite YT'er and I SO look forward to your videos!

For when the black ends of your RT brushes get "gummy", rub some cotton pad doused in rubbing alcohol! it'll get rid of the gummy film and it'll just become smooth plastic again :) it works for anything that has that texture! i did it for my Wet brush once too

You want a perfect dupe for a beauty blender? Sponge hair rollers. Best part is that it is a lot easier to hold and clean because of the hole in the center.
Also I got my favorite brushes from
Kroger. They don’t sell them anymore.
When you buy elf brushes just go to the hardware section and get some super glue. When it comes apart just glue it back together.

I literally SCOURED your videos to find this one because I desperately needed help with figuring out which brush was best for each item, after going through so many not-so-great brushes and having my application look muddy or patchy. (Or it was a good brush, but I was using it wrong lol) You’re the only influencer I trust, thank you for always being so thorough and for being someone who encourages using affordable products! I’ve followed you for almost 10 years now (around the time I started REALLY getting into makeup) and you’ve basically molded my entire outlook on makeup lol I can’t believe I never actually paid attention to which brushes you’ve been using. I guess I was so focused on the products themselves. Every time I’m curious about a product or something new comes out, I know to come here first! 😂 Anyways, thank you for helping this newbie all those years ago to not be intimidated or overwhelmed by the massive and over-saturated world of makeup! And if I haven’t seen a video of a certain thing yet, I know I can scour through again and eventually find it 😅 and I know I’m definitely not the only one who’s so thankful for your channel. The fact that you don’t have 10 million+ subscribers is honestly a crime. Much love! 💕

The rubbery bottom part of my Real Techniques brush got all sticky, too. I covered the whole bottom part with Scotch transparent tape and voila! No more stickiness to deal with! And the transparent tape gives me a shiny, smooth bottom to hold.

Hi, Emily. I'm back watching you after many years away. What I'm happy about coming back is that I'm seeing you still recommending great products that you were using then. Watching other make up channels and following trends, I sometimes feel guilty that I'm using the same products over again when there is so much new stuff out there. Thanks for easing some anxiety. Nothing wrong with tried and true products.

I bought the ELF Highlighting brush to use for highlighter and the Real Techniques 402 Setting brush for setting powder. I like them better now that I switched their use per your recommendation! I have collected so many random eye brushes from various places that I get lost trying to find what I need. I may need to just put them in a drawer away from my reach and see if I have any that match or are similar to the five you just used because I've never had an eye look come together as quickly as you just accomplished that beautiful look! I do not have the ELF Complexion Duo brush, but I use the RT 200 Expert Face Brush for my foundation product as well as my concealer and I also use the RT 300 Deluxe Crease brush to work my concealer into the smaller places as well. I got a RT brush set on Amazon for around $12 or something and it's great!
Thanks for your thorough and detailed explanations as always! :)

Loved this video❣️I recently splurged on some Rephr eyeshadow brushes but it still find myself using my Elf and Eco Tool brushes more. However, during a huge sale of BK Beauty, I purchased some of their face brushes, and I am so impressed by their quality!!!! I do have to admit that my most used brushes are Eco Tools and Elf!!! I use my more high end brushes for my more glam looks. If I had the money, I would definitely buy everything from BK Beauty❤️
But Elf really rocks their game when it comes to brushes and their sponges!!! My fave eyelash curler is the Rephr! It is the only one that grabs all of my lashes as I have more almond shaped eyes.

Hey Emily! Love your recommendations! I've been using e.l.f. and EcoTools brushes forever! I've recently found some Sigma brushes at TJMaxx or Marshalls for $8. to 10. each; the angle-cut Kabuki and angle-cut mini-Kabuki brushes are quite a treat for me, great for blending creams or powders; glad I bought two of each! I also picked up a BH Cosmetics shadow blender for $6. or 7., wish they had another one! But my all-time favorite is a short-handed Nat Robbins blush brush I bought probably 30 years ago; I can't remember where, but it has natural hair bristles with a wooden handle, travel size I guess, it always fits into my small purse-sized makeup bag. It's just indescribable! Anyway, thanks for your tips and tricks! PS sometimes I use a disposable sponge-tipped applicator for concealer on my sun spots, I find it works better than a brush. Well, thanks for sharing your expertise!

I've had the shiseido eyelash curler for 8 years now, I buy the extra bands and change them every 6 months or so. It's the best eyelash curler ever!

    Hi Emily,
I have a memory of you talking about maybe getting a cat.
    Did that ever happen?
The shelters are overrun with kittens this time of year.
I just thought I would put it out there for you, or any of your subscribers that might be contemplating adopting
    a cat or a dog.
    As always,
I look forward to and enjoy you videos.
    Stephanie

That Shisedo eyelash curler was a game changer for my super straight, short eyelashes. Paired with the Sculpted Volume Lash Princess (also your recommendation) I’ve been going without falsies! Thanks Em for your great content! 🫶🏼👏🏼💕
